    I've never paid more for booking with a TA than I would have with the cruise line, and I've always managed to pay less, in price or added perks, by booking with a TA. Since all I'm looking for is a good price, and I require no planning advice or handholding, I like to use services where TAs bid for my business competitively.

    You don't know how many message boards your father was on in 1913?? I never met the man but I can confidentially say that it was the same number of cell phone calls he made in 1913.

    That is YOUR preference. Others have other preferences. Hard to have an "as a rule" for such a relatively large, diverse group of people.

    I'm likely done with cruising, but the only things I'd consider is MSC in the Yacht Club or a Viking river cruise in Europe.

    And at the bottom it listed similar studies indicating the bands do reduce motion sickness.

    Isn't it a bit presumptuous to shield people from a reality they would want to know about and let them assess the risks and dangers for themselves?

    ~8,000 per person, American Queen 14 day trip the length of the Mississipi, MN to NOLA. That was just the cruise cost. Another grand, or so, for airfare.

    If you are in MSC's Yacht Club there is a small outdoor buffet on the Yacht Club pool deck than runs most of every day including a chef making a special dish at lunchtime.
