Totally agree! So much negativity I take it all with a grain of salt and only go by my own experiences. I’ve been on 67 cruises, and although some were better than others, we have always had a great time and l have never had a bad one. The suite price increases and food quality and selection downgrades I have experienced in the last year, unfortunately are real.

Jim I always enjoy following along on your cruise adventures, as you provide your feedback and experiences with such a positive outlook and attitude. I look forward to your impressions of a new cruise line in comparison to your Celebrity cruise experiences. We too were loyal Celebrity cruisers who are looking around for the first time at different cruise options, due to Celebrity suite pricing and downgrades in food quality and service. Totally agree! No other reason to do it. Total price of the cruise will increase when they automatically load the tips daily when onboard.

No surprise. All “little extra’s and nice touches” that made Celebrity special are going away one by one slowly but surely. 😩

They truly are pushing the envelope with everybody’s tolerance on a weekly basis.

CELEBRITY the self proclaimed “Luxury Line”…… now charging for cookies. What a joke they are becoming.

Agree! I wouldn’t buy one just for the principle of them charging for a cookie. Ridiculous. Talking about nickel and dimeing.

Go for the Celebrity Suite or at least a Sky Suite!!! I have been in suites on the Edge and the retreat area is spectacular, especially for having a great location to view your Alaska sailing. Luminae, the Retreat Lounge and private Retreat deck area is like a “ship within a ship”. You will also enjoy the suite upgrades of premium beverage package, included gratuity’s, fastest wifi, and $600 onboard credit to apply to the excursions or specialty dining you will probably want to do. The infinite verander would be a no go for me especially on an Alaskan sailing where you want great vantage points to observe scenery and wildlife.

That Carnival Pride ribeye looks like a ribeye should! Your ribeye in Blu looks like what we use to get. I remember getting one like that in Chops on Royal a few years ago. I was on the Beyond for a B3B in Luminae in March and the ribeye was half that thick and very tough. I was extremely disappointed and didn’t even order it again for the next two weeks. Will be interesting to see how it is in Blu on the Summit in a couple of weeks.

Agree lunch at Le Grand Bistro is excellent but pricey!

My wife frequently ordered the filet and enjoyed it, however they have recently replaced it with a 4 oz NY Strip as part of their new cost saving menus. 😩

You will love Le Voyage and Eden! Went on a B3B on Beyond and ate 4 times at each. Much better than Luminae. The food and service at LeVoyage had a slight edge over Eden for us, but the view looking out the floor to ceiling windows of the back of the ship while sailing in Eden is spectacular! I highly recommend trying both. Enjoy!

No question….. Oasis. Save some money, better itinerary, and more convenient Port to sail out of for you. You will have a great time with your family regardless of not having the new ship smell!

Thanks for sharing your recent dining room experience on Silhouette. We have always enjoyed the dining on Celebrity, but are concerned for our upcoming Summit and Ascent cruises, with the introduction of new menus and downgrade in food quality I am hearing more and more about.

Unfortunately you only get to submit one question. Tough to decide which one to ask, with all the recent food and service downgrades, but I’ll probably go with the one she can’t legitimately defend because it is a health concern for all guest and employees …..Vaping

Ignore the noise!!! We have never had a bad time on 67 cruises. Some are better than others no doubt, but it is what you make of it. I’m sure with a group of 10 you will have a great time and make lasting memories! Enjoy!

Yes it was on the room service menu! My teenage boys use to order it all the time. I also agree it was better long ago than when they most recently offered it. The key was to always get the freshly made pan of it they were just bringing out from the kitchen!
