  1. Our OBC from booking onboard was practically useless on Orion last August. Viking shop on board had basically zero inventory, spa was fully booked, and jewelry was ridiculously priced…lol…however there was an extra 400 $ savings and final payment at 6 months prior to sailing.
  2. Much prefer the Heineken over O’Douls
  3. We are on the Connie March 17, first time Celebrity cruisers, wondering what the options are for NA beer?
  4. August 2022 we docked every port Seward to Vancouver
  5. Looks like Connie hustled back to Tampa as its already sitting not far outside Skyway Bridge. With this hot weather its probably getting back to beat the fog
  6. Celebrity is also cutting MDR menu items, so lets be clear, strictly cost saving!
  7. Wondering if Viking has a better deal now with Marriott Last year both of our extensions involved changes to Marriott
  8. We usually travel off to some all inclusive adult only resort in December where we just enjoy quiet do nothing kinda days so the few port stops doesnt bother us at all and the pricing on this is way better than our all inclusive stays….and when we do cruise we just love the sea days!
  9. Looking around today, I see a new Atlantic Crossing 12/2024 Barcelona to FLL 25 dollar deposits, reduced airfare, couldnt resist! Will probably add the Pre extension in Barcelona And booked the lowest cabin too! With so many sea days, cant see much reason to spend more for priority excursions reservations, and even better yet we get 6 month final payment as we have another cruise on the books!
  10. We are booked on Connie for our first X cruise in March. We sure hope OVC is still a good dinner option cause on our last cruise (Viking) we really enjoyed just picking out what we wanted. Looking at the MDR dinner menus on the app, there has been a significant change in menu choices than what I looked at 2 months ago…very lil beef for sure. We sure hope we have made the right choice!
  11. We did same on Orion this past August in Alaska and we found the bartenders very generous about what they called lunch and dinner hours. For instance if lounging in the pool area we could grab our beer and wine for several hours so long as the grill was open for “lunch”
  12. We enjoyed our first Viking experiences in 2022, both River (Rhine) and Ocean (Alaska), and the onboard booking savings while in Alaska including only 50 dollar deposits pp and final payment 6 months prior to sailing made it easy for us to decide to do the Empires cruise in July 2024. In retrospect, we wish now we would have chosen spring vs summer, and we tried to change, but wed lose our booking incentives, so it is what it is, and we will survive summer heat! We feel we are probably forever spoiled by our first Viking Ocean experience. We are choosing both the pre and post Viking extensions as its all planned out for us plus we really like having the extra days after that flight to get there, so we originally chose the2 night pre in Athens, but changed to 4 nights as we felt better value, plus this trip will be a one and done for us probably to this part of the world. And with the extra time in Athens before boarding, once onboard we will likely just enjoy the ship for that extra day in port there to completely relax/unwind, as everyday beyond Athens is a different port, so go go go!
  13. I believe its no more than 20 bucks to taxi its a very short drive
  14. Is anyone else having issues with the website constantly reloading? Says website encountered error and reloads every time I try to search cruises
  15. Thanks! Right now we will likely change to a late April sailing…., ending in Venice 2nd week of May.
  16. Thanks for all the inputs! For 24 at least right now, this itinerary only shows April, June, or July. Our fare will go up slightly going earlier but its probably worth the few hundred bucks. Wifey hates “cold” so was leaning early June as an alternative vs April
  17. We are currently booked Athens to Venice Early August 2024. If Viking will allow us to rebook and maintain all the onboard booking savings we got for booking while on our recent Orion sailing, we are wondering if we are better off to do an early June trip? Its still summer, just earlier summer, and living in Florida we are used to the heat, but a few degrees cooler is always helpful, and crowd wise maybe its a bit less crowded too?
  18. We have only done one Viking cruise ( Orion in August) and we also mentioned how many places onboard there were to “just relax”. We will do our second in 24 Empires of Mediterranean…booking onboard and during the 25 dollar deposit was a nobrainer!
  19. Orion in Alaska August was 830
  20. And there was a big seafood night at the buffet on like day 2 or 3 of the cruise on our early August cruise
  21. We tipped and I think there were recommended amounts on MVJ. Our host in Basel was great, Anchorage and Vancouver not so much.
  22. We just completed our first VOC…Orion Alaska. We dined in the Restaurant first 3 nights, then tried World Cafe one night, and we never returned to the Restaurant. Not really because of food or service, we just felt options overall were better, especially for wife who leans vegetarian. We really enjoyed Orion! we are doing Empires of Mediterranean in a couple years with the pre stay in Athens too so good scoop on your tour…thanks!
  23. We were just in 3054 on the opposite side and loved the location! Yes some noise from Torshavn a couple nights but never enough to disrupt our sleep.. 3057 is probably the last room before you enter the open atrium area…its very quiet area
