Our stop at Labadee was in 1988 while sailing RCI's Song of America. There were very few children aboard, probably due to the lack of 3rd and 4th berths. However, they would hire teachers to run a rudimentary kid's program for holiday sailings. This is my daughter with the kid's program coordinator. They had been flying kites on the beach. Not much there in 1988 other than the beach buffet, a few vendors, and a nice beach.

It's been 30+ years since my last visit to Labadee. I'd love to see how it has changed. Gotta be better than Nassau.

We are jeans and t-shirt cruisers. I would be completely out of place on Silversea or Crystal. I'm right at home in an upper level suite on X. We don't pack dress clothing. Not sure if I even have belt. This is as dressy as I get.
-
I have to take photos as soon as we get into the suite. Otherwise, there's debris in all the pics. We brought junk food so there's Belvita and Goldfish in some. It didn't help that the sliding glass door was stuck. By the time I wanted to take photos, the wife had settled in!

The singing butler! He was the best! Sang us a love song one night.

You have a problem. I suspect that's a duplicate. Should be one apiece.

Not a deal breaker but portside EV's miss out on these. I think the reason they put them on the starboard side is so that people don't smack passersby when opening the door. It's heavy. I had to lean into it. It's in effect a sea door.
-
Portside EV's are in front of Luminae. There's just benches there, as I recall. Starboard side patios are very nice. Peaceful. Almost no traffic. There's a stairway down to the Retreat Lounge next to 15106.

New money? 😅🤣😂

Not sure that's a good metric. I know I changed to a new account in deference to my late wife. I had 1,200 posts over several years when I started my new account.

I pretty much lived in the 'plunge pool'. It's an oversized hot tub with controls for heat, bubbles, and mood lighting. I would definitely sail in one again. There is a second entrance on Deck 16. You can avoid the stairs by simply using the forward elevators to change floors. Butler was wonderful. Walked us to specialty dining every evening and made sure we got prime seating.

Stateroom is 739 sq. ft.. Verandah is another 211. So, 950 plus another 50 for the new Deck 16 patio areas added for the starboard-side rooms. We were in 15016 on the Beyond for 5 days in November and paid $12,400 (booked in November 2021).

We were assigned an escort and went right aboard. Didn't even have time to sit down. Best embarkation ever. Debarkation worked just as well. Outside waiting on the limo at 7:45. Enjoy!

Thanks for the review! We did 15106 on the Beyond and loved it. Hilario was our singing butler. Did you get your PJ's? -
I hope they build a 5th E-class. Earnings call and business update is scheduled for February 7th. Maybe we will get an update.
-
There was a letter of intent for the 5th E-class but it was put in place in 2019 (pre-Covid and pre-Apex delivery delay). I don't think it's on the books any longer. Time for LNG power.

First time on Edge in the Retreat

Shoreside Retreat Concierge emailed it as a pdf. I printed it on card stock. In this case, it was for the Beyond leaving from T25 at PE. We were in an EV. -

Which Alaska Itinerary and why?
danceswithphones replied to leisuretraveler223's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We chose a 6 day in May '24 on the Edge. Vancouver to Seattle. Always wanted to stay a night in the Pan Pacific Hotel. Currently booked in a SV but will bid on something in the Retreat. I doubt if we will get off the ship at any ports. Not for everyone but works for us. Glad the Edge is doing AK in '24. Really didn't want to do it on S-class.
