  1. This is a town in Wales. Absolutely no idea how to pronounce it 😊“Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
  2. It’s Iain not Lain. Scottish Gaelic version of John. Anglicised version of the name is Ian. 😊
  3. Apex is sailing from Southampton this summer. There would be riots if kettles weren’t in the cabins! They must be held in storage on the ship, enough for each cabin AND some spares.
  4. I’m from the UK and I can’t tell you how many accidents I’ve had with a kettle! Well I can, it’s zero 😉 Let me know how you get on with the aeropress onboard. I manage just fine with Cafe Al Bacio on a short cruise, but have a 58 night P&O cruise booked for next year and I’m researching coffee options.
  5. Thanks. Sailing Apex in May this year. Appreciate the review 😊
  6. I’m sure you can ask for a kettle for your cabin. They have them onboard for the UK departures where kettles and tea/coffee are automatically placed in every cabin.
  7. Is anyone else freaked out by hearing Jim’s voice for the first time 😆 Isn’t it funny how you imagine someone will sound, and then when you hear them you’re so shocked! You could be a DJ with that smooth voice Jim 😉
  8. Have you read the Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman. Very very popular in the UK. 4 books so far. A certain Mr Spielberg bought the film rights of the 1st book!
  9. I noticed that too, for the next sailing. 11th April and 12th April both given. Please let me know 😊
  10. Have a look at the airport shuttle buses - they serve a lot of hotels in Tokyo. https://webservice.limousinebus.co.jp/web/en/Top.aspx
  11. Guests who have purchased the new Premium Pass also now receive reserved seating every night in the theatre.
  12. Possibly? 3,5 and unlimited available for my cruises.
  13. 5-night packages are available to buy on my 2 cruises this year (Apex - Scandinavia and Millennium- Japan). Both 12 night sailings.
  14. My Dyson hairdryer only works using the European socket in the cabin. It doesn’t work in the US socket. I take a european travel adapter with me for this (I’m from the UK and need an adapter anyway, but don’t bother with a US one). If it helps I LOVE my Dyson hairdryer! It makes such a difference to my hair!
  15. Thanks for confirming- makes the decision to book easier.
  16. Can I check what is included now with the cabana rental? Do you still get unlimited soft drinks and a bottle of either vodka/wine/champagne? When I go to book, none of these things are mentioned so I’m wondering if the package has changed? Many thanks in advance.
  17. Thanks for clarifying. You may wish to go back and edit your original post where you state the room was given to a VIP with a deep discount. As it stands, you don’t know what happened. And maybe the staff you spoke to didn’t either, which is why they didn’t confirm or deny anything. You have been given an alternative explanation in a reply by a member who was on the opposite side of this type of scenario.
  18. Just curious - how do you know the cabin was sold to a vip for a deep discount? Was this disclosed during one of the calls you had?
  19. My experience has been that online check in opens at midnight of the departure port of the sailing. If you’re sailing from Southampton this summer this will be GMT up until 31st March when the UK moves to GMT+1. I don’t know who “they” are that you are referring to? But if it’s UK residents then having to stay up to midnight is less advantageous than being able to check in at 8pm if in New York!
  20. We booked our first P&O cruise a few months ago and my husband has mobility issues. Not yet in a wheelchair of his own but he does use 2 sticks and uses a wheelchair at the airport and cruise terminal as he can’t walk very far. Anyway, when we were booking we were asked specifically if he would need evacuation assistance - I replied he would. I was told that the ship could only accept a finite number of passengers who would require assistance on board. This makes sense as they have a limited number of evac chairs and staff to assist. There’s maybe a bit of confusion about this rule? Or it’s maybe been interpreted into require-evacuation-assistance = adapted room.
  21. Not sure if you are aware, or if it is an option for you, but both EasyJet and Loganair fly from Glasgow to Southampton. I have booked easyJet for a May cruise.
  22. That’s exactly what I would have done! We took a taxi in San Francisco last year- a very short distance back to the cruise terminal. There was a queue of people waiting for a taxi at the terminal, so the driver would have had no delay in getting another passenger. The meter said $10. I gave him $11. He said “is that it?” rather angrily. I apologised, took the $11 back, handed him $10 and made a quick exit. The tipping culture is getting out of hand in USA!
  23. Not sure why the price differs, but you’d need to cancel the upgraded wifi to get a refund. It won’t get deducted.
