  1. Belize at the port, The West Lizard "stick thing" going on MAJOR!! It's a scam and of course I was the first one to fall for it. When you get off the tender at the port in Belize it hits you right there. I'm not sure I've ever smelled anything like that before I went straight for it right followed my nose to this SWEET grill at this outside establishment called the Wet Lizard, this grill was loaded with marinaded sticks!!ðŸĪĐðŸĪĐðŸĪĐ I may have already started drinking before I got on the tender on the ship.🙄so I had to have another beer anyway. These weren't really kabobs they were marinated meat on a stick. I don't know exactly what it was but this grill had it going on, with this lovely Belizean lady at the helm. I'm in big time, when I walked in this bar there was only a few people there. 30 minutes later the place was not only packed they had a waiting list and couldn't make enough of that marinated meat on skewers fast enough. Looked steaky to me but who knows and who cares it was a true treat. Every island has the "stick thing" going on all have they're own different tweak and every last one of them are GREAT. Like I said I'll eat anything, with that being said sticks on the grill win win win. Especially at Magens Bay they'd kill each other trying to eat those things. I hope they think like we do Ms411, let's hope so anyway. Jeez don't short us out for another 30 years I ain't got 30 years left. Thanks, have a nice evening.
  2. Nice!! Love Crooners on the CB and the Emerald. The Caribbean Princess is a great ship solo you can do anything you want. Adagio on the Emerald Princess at the rear of the ship across from Sabatini's best piano bar at sea. The piano players normally stop playing around 10pm. I stay late and have this extraordinary bar all to myself it's wonderful. How did you like the WFM compared to the old Horizon Court? The WFM on the CB was wonderful at breakfast and lunch. Of course I eat anything but still the food is killer. They had fresh made omelettes on the Emerald but not like in the new WFM on the Caribbean Princess, that omelette station back there is abominable.😁 As a solo did you have any problems with the medallions? I'm still learning 😁 I didn't have time to stand there and figure it all out but I'm getting the idea. The Caribbean Princess solo 14 day Caribbean Circle sailing, I've done pretty much every one of them, that sailing is as good as it gets, especially for a solo. Except of course for Trinidad that place sucks it doesn't matter what you are. Have fun on your next solo cruise addicting ain't it?!!😎😉😎
  3. YES!!! That "on a stick" thing it must be an island deal or something. Every single one of them whichever one you choose is GREAT. Those things are addicting, I stand right beside the grill!! 😂 Follow your nose, another key is, those guys have all those local spice seasonings you can't get anywhere else and each one is different and all of them are THE BOMB!! If it was on a stick anywhere south of Ft. Lauderdale I done ate it and everything around it.😁😂 That's why I don't make stuff like that at home because when I do mine isn't even close to what they cook up and it's a disappointment. I think I'm in the Islands and I got this and it ends up crummy.😕 Gotta have sauce, I'm the sauce monster. It don't matter what kind I'm eating it. Thanks chief.
  4. I see, those look killer. Is that the "boring tarter sauce" you were talking about? I love that!! Skewers look great anything fried on skewers I'll eat it especially with tarter sauce 😂. Appreciate you!! Thank you.
  5. Yes that kind of pate, silly😁. Your " hand held savory stuffed Calzone "pies" sounds great. I'm extremely open minded especially when it comes to eating local in the islands, those sound wonderful. Adult milkshakes I'm into adult anything except acting like one.😎 I wasn't exactly sure how all that territorial stuff worked I knew there were multiple entities with there hands in Magens Bay. Sounds to complicated and that in itself may be part of the problem. I told you aggravate the hell out of them. We want a nice restaurant a couple of them that are a genuine compliment to Magens Bay. That's it. We're not being overbearing😂, we just want to sit in a nice venue have cocktails and chill out at Magens Bay. I think that's very reasonable of us. Thanks.
  6. They're absolutely safe, those tour guides are just trying to make a few dollars and provide a service for tourists. I would never recommend anything unless I knew it was safe, tour or otherwise. Safety on Aruba is the last thing on my mind. Your not meeting some 6'7 genetic freak from the Netherlands on some deserted beach at 11pm by yourself after leaving Carlos and Charlie's. You and a group of other folks are being taken around the island by a local who's simply trying to provide a service. During the day when there's a zillion other cruisers behind you on the same tour. These are island tour guides doing a job. Aruba is the friendly island, one of the best consistently great vibes in the Southern Caribbean. Looking forward to going back. Hope that helps.
  7. Yes jeez they need all that at Magens, they're thinking small down there and that's a BIG Bay. Shark bites sound scrumptious with hot sauce mayo. Yummy!! Your getting ahead of the game. So you got ripped for suggesting putting in another food venue down the beach somewhere? The Bay is a freaking mile and a half long it's a long walk for the love of Pete give us a couple of nice food and drinks venues it's not going to interrupt the laid back vibe of Magens Bay it would only make it better and more $$$. I certainly hope they don't drop the ball on the new contract. Had I had my hand in Magens Bay 10 much less 20 year's ago we'd all be rich sitting on a yacht out in the Bay looking back at the beach packed with people spending money having a time. Yes ma'am. With us more $$$. I know it's operated by the National Parks Service but that's certainly no reason to choke a place out with endless potential. Peppercorn pate is like a liver spread. It's so yummy. I used to get it at Sabatino's Deli in Boca Raton. It's wonderful on crackers or a toasted bread. "Boring tarter sauce😂😂😂 I LOVE THAT!! Sorry chief it's probably a West Virginia thing yes it has to be a good real tarter sauce but I love tarter sauce😁. With that being said I like a truly good hot sauce too, especially with mayo. On shark or mahi nuggets?? You need to aggravate and keep wearing there asses OUT. Like I said your ahead of the game. Grilled corn that's big, I love grilled corn and so does everyone else. This is a chance after a long time for that St. Thomas commission thingy to get Magens Bay right for the next 30 years. Don't let them blow it Ms411😉. You got this. Appreciate you.👍
  8. That's unbelievable I did the exact same thing on St. Croix in 1996. Stood right beside the grill it was Carnivale, ate fish, chicken(I think😂), steak and pork(I think again ðŸ˜ģ) kabobs on a stick. $1 per stick I'll never forget it. It was da bomb, I love those kabobs. I just kept handing the guy $1 bills, Carnivale was PACKED actually I remember it well I think I was the only white dude among thousands of Islanders had a blast. Hey I learned how to dance! Total complacency that's what's happened with the past Magens Bay Concessions. They got the contract and did little, nothing at all or the bare minimum to fulfill the contract. There menu was bare bones and crummy from start to finish especially in an atmosphere like Magens. Pates at Megan's Bay Jeezus let's hope so, that is a step up. LOL!! Black peppercorn pate is my favorite, if they offered that on the menu at Magens Bay ummm😂 that's definitely headed in the right direction. That would be Huge. Magens Bay Concessions they've choked it out, the concessions have been stuck in the mud in this case stuck in the sand and stayed there for years. That's a huge bay there needs to be another option to get a beer instead of walking all the way back to the bar every time. It's a terrible setup when there's multiple ships in port the concessions are inadequate, unorganized and terribly uninviting. No one was having any fun, nobody was spending money except me, I would have spent more couldn't get anyone to wait on me. The current setup is genuinely pitiful. The restaurant needs MOVED BACK and moved down or something they need to figure it out because the current and past setup hasn't worked for a long time. 2 restaurants on Magens that's a great idea. That's a long walk back. Let's keep our fingers crossed this is done correctly so we can all go to Magens and have the experience we should have.
  9. Like many of us, I'm become very fond of Magens Bay over the last 20 years or so. For the last 15 years I've made more than my fair share of negative comments about Megan's Bay Concessions who operate the crummy restaurant and bar, they've had a lock on the contract for the last 40 years at Magens Bay. I receive a newsletter online called The St. Thomas Source. The 40 year BS contract from start to finish with Megan's Bay Concessions it's up for bid. I highly recommend reading this article. The article is AWESOME, I thought it was just me. After years of having to bring our own drinks to Magens Bay because you can't get served at that phoney baloney bar. We have a great chance of getting a restaurant and bar on Magens Bay that's a compliment to the Bay experience. This article is everything I've been saying now for a long time. We get bussed down into this beautiful magnificent bay, there's a bar and restaurant with 3 people working and there's 5-7 ships in port, Mickey Mouse is in Orlando. The menu I wasn't sure what to make of it. It was sad. St. Thomas Source Megan's Bay Concessions. Best article I've read in a long time and it's sounds like they're going to make the new lessee's really step it up, and create an experience that represents the Bay. Good grief it's about time. Hey better late than never!!

    Party bars?

On Aruba across the street from the port. Iguana Joe's Pink building upstairs great views great bar packed with people. Iguana Joe's Aruba Google it. Great party atmosphere.
  11. Great plan. Please tell us how it went or how you like Eagle Beach. Thank you.
  12. Good for you!! CB is a great ship. Very open lots of deck space all over the ship single deck chairs never a problem anywhere on the ship. I like that I don't like laying out on a deck in the same place all the time. WorldFreshMarketplace(WFM) lots of great places to sit I love that setup. Not only great single seats but great views overlooking the sea too while you're having lunch. As a solo cruiser the Caribbean Princess, I did 14 days twice last time being in Dec. 2018, it was like I had the ship too myself. It was great. Have fun looking forward to your review when you return. Enjoy your vacation.
  13. You should definitely go to that bar ASAP.😉 Appreciate the heads up on the Windmill Bar. That place has my name written all over, if it doesn't it will after I get done with it. 😁 Thank you.
  14. The Windmill Bar, that place is AWESOME!! Views are off the chain. How come I didn't know anything about this bar before? Menu looks yummy. It says it's located in Cruz Bay, I've never seen that bar before. Can you walk to it when you get off the ferry? I could spend my whole day on St. Thomas at that bar. I can do that. Thanks for your help. That's the best seat in the house.
  15. Windmill Bar gotcha thank you!! I always go upstairs and sit on the top deck of the ferry on the way back to Redhook from Cruz Bay it's so hot up there the sun is something different. Thanks for your help. Appreciate it. I won't forget you, promise!ðŸĪœðŸĪ›
  16. Hey Ms411 have you been over to St. John recently? I was just wondering how the island was doing. The Caneel Bay legal debacle is coming to an end. The National Park Service is going to end up with the property and they should. If someone cleaned all that up down in there that property would be a beach party dream. Thats premium it's just low down in there. Im not sure I would build another resort down there. Thanks
  17. NICE!! Weather looks awesome too. Send more pics dang it!!! Thank you.
  18. His ship departs at 3pm what a crock. What that means is just when he's on the beach getting comfortable he and his party have to pack up and leave. Docked at Crown Bay that's a pain in the ass too.🙁 It's Water Island or sitting on the Crown Bay pier feeding iguanas peanuts all morning drinking soda pop in 95 degree heat. ðŸ˜ģ🙄ðŸ˜ģ
  19. You've never had an alcoholic drink ever? You have my utmost sympathy I hate that for you.ðŸĪŠ Hey man on vacation on an island (take your pick) I've been to them all, water, soda, gatorade, ice tea, and on and on and on and on don't cut it. Ice cold pale ale, a Stella or a nice glass of Chardonnay on the Islands is what life's all about. Now to the Beach, Sapphire or Magens 2 ships in port both beaches will be great. Keep it simple. One of the two. Have fun at whichever beach you choose drinking diet Pepsi.😁
  20. 33 years old on my first solo cruise. The earth that we all reside on 75% of it is covered in salt water. No children no wife. I wanted to see the world and everything in it. For me travelling the world by sea on a floating 5-star resort, is a tough ticket to beat. Until they come up with something better I ain't changing anything. I'm now 61, boy time certainly does fly when you're having fun, don't it though!! Somebody had to do it might as well been us.😎
  21. YES!! Nice that's exactly what I do except for dinner and I like your idea much better than I do mine. Ship's are beautiful. Crew is Top Shelf from start to finish. Princess is a great experience laid back very quiet. I was on one of the first cruise's back in 2018 that used the Medallion. I'm still getting used to it. 😁 I think Princess is highly underrated when it comes to Solo Cruising. I have no problem with that I enjoy being one of the very few solos onboard. I hope it stays that way. Keep cruising Princess solo WE ROCK!!
  22. Hello!! Solo Princess Cruiser here. 15 solo with Princess whaddya wanna know?😉 The Solo Meet&Greet scheduled in the Princess Patters. In the Wheelhouse Bar. I love the Wheelhouse Bar I never went. Cruised the Emerald Princess 5 times solo I'm not sure on a couple of those sailings other than myself and maybe a few more cruisers, at that time 2007-2008-2010-2011-2013 there weren't any solo cruisers. 2007 Emerald Princess inaugural other than myself and I kinda looked I really didn't see many if any other solo cruisers. As a solo that's just fine with me and one of the main reasons I continue to cruise Princess only. As a solo I'm staying solo I know that so it's not an issue. Michaelangelo Dining Room never a problem getting a 2 top by myself or if I want to entertain a handful of fellow cruisers I'll asked to share a table never a problem. I'm a late eater I don't stand in line outside the dining room door before it opens. While everyone else is standing in line for dinner I'm at Crooners drinking vodka martinis. Show up in the dining room about 8pm never a wait never an issue and don't forget to hand the maitre'd a $100 bill on the first night of your sailing. Best seat in the house for the remainder of your cruise. Solo cruising has come a long way and there are many more of us than there were 10-15 years ago, we are still few and far between. Sailed the Caribbean Princess twice solo what a great ship to cruise solo and so is the Emerald. Grand Princess not so much. Actually I was on the Grand Princess solo in 2012 the ship, half the crew, and about 80% of the passengers need sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Golden Princess Inaugural 2001 great cruise solo. The crew is key for solo cruisers. Take care of the crew they take care of you. No worries your entire cruise. Princess solo for me it's not broke and I don't have to fix anything it works.
  23. Exactly the same thing on Trinidad. I didn't make it out of the port area I got escorted back to the ship. I'll never go back.
