  1. I certainly wouldn't take the advice of the US Dept of State๐Ÿ˜ณ. If I were you I would mosey on down to " Queens Savannah Park" and have a time of it.๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
  2. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  3. No problem, nothing but a nice beach nice people and a good time. I would never point you in the direction of one of those nightmares. ๐Ÿ‘ I will tell you this don't forget the sunscreen your gonna need it.๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. Never on Eagle Beach.
  5. Not sure I would stay here for 1 night but I LOVE the W, you can get it on Hotwire for a decent price.
  6. The only way to go on Aruba. I'll never consider doing anything else. I always end up walking down the sidewalk to Eagle Beach from the bus stop. Passions is one of my favorite beach bars EVER. Best views on the island, never waist your time with a nightmare day pass. Eagle Beach, Passions it's why we all keep going back. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜Ž As you can see in the photo posted by sailawayward the sand and the water speak for themselves. Don't forget hitting Iguana Joe's for a drink before getting back on the ship. The Happy Island....it is.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. The Sunset Reef St. Kitts looks 5-star to me. Sells Day Passes starting at $150(US). Day Rooms start at $400(US)for up to 4 people. No beach, looks like a 5-star Palm Court Gardens. Seeing how the Park Hyatt is so popular๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™„ Sunset Reef could be a nice alternative to all the crowds at the Park Hyatt.๐Ÿ˜‰ Prices are over my head. Day Pass+Bar Tab=$300(US) easily. Back to the Marriott again.๐Ÿ˜Ž It's the math, the property, the pools, the bars, and the REAL BEACH. Every time.๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค›
  8. The Patio at Secret Harbor it looks beautiful back there I've just never been dressed to go in there. I stay outside at the bar. I would never walk in there with flip flops a tank and swimming trunks on. That place is nice. Actually it's beautiful I can understand why it's so popular. A friend of mine ran the campground on Water Island for years. He loves Bologna Bay Resort. Iggie's that's a blast from the past. I forgot all about Iggie's that was a long time ago. Since I've been to Sapphire they've added a new bar which is huge. Next time I'm on the island depending on how many ships are in port. If I don't take the ferry over to St. John or Magens Bay doesn't have a new restaurant or bar, I'm spending my day at Sapphire Beach. I understand Sapphire Beach gets crowded I've never seen that, the 2 times I was there, very few people on this beautiful beach. The Sunset Grille is such a nice beach bar, when I got there both times, nobody there 2 hours later it was packed with cruisers. Secret Harbor isn't so Secret anymore. That's fine I hope other's find it and enjoy it like I did.
  9. Great pic, Thanks!!
  10. Yup, chair's and palapas. Right beside Passions Beach Bar. To your right as you walk down the sidewalk to Eagle Beach from the bus stop. Palapa and 2 chairs about $20(US). Take the city bus across from the port, done it several times only way to travel on the island.
  11. Email Kristelle Eugene of Karambola Tours it's the same or better tour than your taking. When I took this tour back in Dec. 2018 it was $80(US) I handed her $100(US) worth every penny of it. At the time I booked with Karambola it was the only 5-star tour on the island and you could tell it. The basilica up in the mountains, Depaz Distillery at the base of Mt. Pelee, we went everywhere in a Mercedes Benz Van that was sweet and comfortable all day. This is the tour you want. If it doesn't work out with the ships tour do what I just told you. Have fun. Looking forward to your review whichever tour you choose. ๐Ÿ‘
  12. I have another suggestion that's worked very well for myself in the past. Hotwire Ft. Lauderdale Beach Area, 4-stars. I've done this for the last 20 years. I get a hotel that exceeds my expectations every time. Other than the Ritz Carlton I've stayed in them all some many times. Your right there close to Las Olas The W, The Westin, The Hilton, Courtyard Marriott(best location on Las Olas Beach). The old Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Beach is also a favorite. It's now a B Resort Ft. Lauderdale Beach. It's nice down there too and genuinely on the beach. Hotwire has never failed me. Great price and Awesome Hotels. Every time. Try it, you can't lose. I stay a week in Ft. Lauderdale pre-cruise A WEEK couldn't do that without Hotwire. Good luck and have a great time on your vacation.
  13. Holy Chit, that's the longest 1.5 miles you'll ever walk in your life, from either port!! Smoking Hot, Dodging Cars, flip flops and backpack on. Bring that soft sided cooler we were talking about, a 6 pack of Stella and it's still gonna be a *****. They walk it though. We've all seen it, in this case I'm old, decrepit and handicapped.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜
  14. I just saw this. I haven't done a Western Caribbean cruise in decades. It's not the same. The vibe is totally different than the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. Has been for a long time. It's too much BS over something every time. There's some great deals on Western Caribbean cruises all the time, that's because nobody wants to go there anymore. Grand Cayman in all due respect SUCKS. I love Ocho Rios but it's not worth it anymore. Furthest west I'm going is Cozumel and that's pushing it. I'm not sure what's going on over there and I don't care. There's too many other nice and fun islands to visit to have mess with that nonsense.
  15. Stray dogs?? There's all kinds of stray dogs on St. Maarten most every one have 2 legs, speak English and French fluently and don't bark they *****. Hope that helps Todd
  16. Good luck with " more tangible information" with tours on Trinidad. Don't forget to share your experience on Trinidad with your fellow cruisers when you get back. Thanks!!
  17. Any recent cruisers spend the day at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts? Please share your wonderful experience with the "day pass" at the Park Hyatt we're just dying to hear about it. Thanks(in advance)๐Ÿ˜ณlooking forward to your review.
  18. The Sunset Grille it's great had lunch a couple of times here. I've been pleasantly surprised at how good they're food is. Too bad Magens Bay Concessions doesn't take a lesson from this place. The bar and restaurant at Secret Harbor and the bar and snack bar at Magens Bay they're not even comparable. The Sunset Grille, excellent service excellent food great views and nice people.
  19. Your exactly right, but compared to the washtub a mile away So. Frigate Bay and Carambola Beach Barf, it's absolutely magnificent. I've been to all those beaches before we were talking about St. Kitts not Nevis. Cockleshell been there done that. I'd take the Marriott anyday and do over Cockleshell. The "manmade breakers"(50 ton boulders)make it NOT A REAL BEACH. They're manmade ๐Ÿ˜ณ, the REAL BEACH is a walk north about 200 yards where there are no "manmade breakers"๐Ÿคญ. That's a real beach. Palm Court Gardens(no beach and this place puts the Park Hyatt to shame) as far as vibe and atmosphere go. I do day passes on cruise ship visits I've never read a positive review on the Park Hyatt. It doesn't matter anyway I wouldn't go there if Mr.and Mrs.Hyatt gave me the hotel. Have fun at Cockleshell and the Park Hyatt with nobody else. I'll stick with the Marriott, the manmade real beach.๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿซค๐Ÿ˜ณ, my own waitress and masseuse. The sargassum last two times I was there was evident but not a problem. No saragassum on Cockleshell though? Now now now, it's the same beach c'mon. Your fibbing. It's me Todd now. The only difference between Cockleshell and the manmade real beach at the Marriott๐Ÿ˜‚, every morning the saragassum on the beach at the Marriott is raked away by a sled on the end of a tractor. Cockleshell I don't care and don't want to know. Have a great time on your vacation, at Cockleshell with all the sargassum, and nobody else!! Sounds like a time.
  20. Take a ship's tour if you plan on getting past security and actually seeing the island, if not stay on the ship and actually have a good time.
  21. Local Mutiny Vodka and hibiscus mixer, that sounds wonderful.
  22. Burgers, Dogs, and pizza is fine. How about a Chef salad or Greek salad. Or fresh made deli sandwiches something has to change with that bar and restaurant. A second venue half way down the beach would kill it.
  23. This is another recommendation for the St. Kitts Marriott day pass. You want a REAL BEACH this is it. It's magnificent. The property and grounds are premium. Awesome pool and swim up bar, excellent food and drinks. Makes for one helluva bar tab, but SO WORTH IT. If you have a small group I highly recommend a day room. Take a change of clothes, spend all day on the beach go back to your room shower change clothes and head back to the ship. If you purchase a day room you can take a bottle of your favorite sauce and mix your own drinks. I didn't do that but someone from our CC group did, it was nice having a drink in our room just to get out of the sun for a minute. Here's the only catch. When you walk in the Marriott the concierge desk is on your left. I want a BIG SMILE ๐Ÿ˜Š, big credit card and blinged out doesn't hurt a thing either. No bling BIGGER ๐Ÿ˜Š SMILE ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜. Get in the elevator hit THE BEACH button and the party starts. This is a winner every time.
  24. Thank you PORT ROYAL!! For all you cruisers out there in TV and La La Land who are heading to the island of Antigua. This is all the information you'll ever need. Look no further. I'm picky this is one of the finest men I've ever met just being in the company of Lawrence is a blessing in itself. I miss him. Alot. Thank you again PORT ROYAL.
  25. Which resort was that? I was at The Santa Barbara on Curacao in 2018 that looks just like it. I know all those beaches look similar, but that looks like the coast of the Santa Barbara. Thanks
