  1. This was a big issue for hubby on the Vista in April. Interestingly the supply issue didn’t affect the Fun Shops, plenty of Crown in there for sale. 🤷‍♀️
  2. I plan to take the family to the Marriott when we are on the Panorama in October. Thank you for confirming they are still offering day passes. I am hopeful the testing will be gone by then but plan to use On Point with our free tests so thanks for that info too.
  3. Yes, but she has to wait to purchase it onboard. Enjoy, I would love to get one of those offers someday!
  4. I 1000% agree with you based on my decade of experience with multiple casinos in Vegas, our results were the same with all of them, MGM, Caesars, Cosmopolitan, Venetian and Wynn. I am exclusively a slot player and hubby plays a little black Jack but is mainly a slot player too. Playing on one card has it’s advantages and disadvantages so it works or not depending on your goals. If both players in a couple get good offers and like to take friends or family along with them then playing on their own cards is the way to go as they can use both offers and get two cabins. If hubby was a player like me and we had a bigger bankroll we would go this route but he’s not and we are now retired so have to keep our bankroll in check if we want to keep cruising. On our next cruise in October we are going to both play on my card, we didn’t realize we could do that in April on the Vista. It will still depend on points earned and time played though. I did very well on the Vista and was able to run a lot of coin through because I kept winning and eventually gave it all back. Right after I returned I got an offer of a free inside and $200 OBC which I used to book a cove balcony on the Panorama at an $850 discount. Hubby is getting the Hot Streak Bonus offers that give him a slight discount on the cruise fare and $200 OBC. I would rather get an offer of a free balcony on my account than the two offers so for me the goal is better offers not more offers and I think playing on one card will increase my chances of that. Happy cruising and good luck!
  5. We’ll see, I do know the casinos all have a formula and yes, they use data mined from other sources but that is for the fishes, the new unknown gamblers they are trying to attract. That’s why new cruisers that gamble get better offers sometimes than regular players. Once you became a known player in their system, especially if you’re a slot player it’s all about coin in and time of play. Also if you get upside down on your comps by booking multiple offers they might hesitate to give more good offers until you deliver, I think this is happening now with Carnival. In Vegas you can usually only book one or two offers at a time, I think Caesars allows three. Regardless, it’s all a crap shoot and definitely cheaper to pay for your cruise out of pocket but if you enjoy your time in the casino why not get the most benefits that you can? We’ll find out in October if playing on card makes a difference.
  6. Good for you, exactly how we played Vegas, people will always say you can’t do that and they won’t pay you if you get a jackpot because you’re cheating but it is not cheating the system. Play equals comps, we share the comps so the casinos don’t care whose card is the machine as long as the money is rolling through. Especially with slot players, their profit is guaranteed and completely calculable, easiest money there is to be made, that’s why we get better comps than table and VP players. The hubby and I retired in 2019 but our initial efforts to return to cruising were all Covid cancelled, now I have 5 on the books, not all with casino offers but I do have a Premiere and Getaway in there plus my free inside which I used to get $850 off and $200 OBC for our Panorama cruise in October. Thank you for confirming that Carnival will give you an extra card so your partner can play on your account, I have seen a couple of people mention it on Facebook. I don’t plan to chase comps with cruising but I always want to maximize any benefits I can get from my fondness of those one arm bandits. Good luck and happy cruising!
  7. No, it is no problem if you hit a jackpot while someone else’s card is in the machine, they take the ID and info from the person sitting in front of the machine that claims the jackpot. We have played on one card in all of the major casino groups in Vegas, MGM allows 2 active cards playing at one time, Cosmopolitan (now MGM) used to allow 3, Venetian/Palazzo allows at least 2 and I think Caesars/Total Rewards is unlimited. My son went to Vegas for his bachelor party, got a bunch of cards for his groomsmen and made Diamond in one weekend, lol!
  8. I think he meant to say if a couple plays on one card you will get better offers. This is absolutely true for Vegas and I didn’t know you could do it on a cruise but I am going to ask at the players desk before we start gambling on our next cruise. I used to go to Vegas several times a year and rode the comp train hard but finally got tired of it and have only been a couple of times in the last 5 years. I am the slot/Vegas junkie and hubby can take it or leave it, he would never go without me. I went fairly often without him so getting all the offers in my name works. Obviously the offers are better because I get more points when both of us are playing. We just returned to cruising in April after a 14 year hiatus and he enjoyed it so I have more cruises booked. He still would not go without me so we will start playing on my card only if it is allowed. I wish I would have known this on the Vista, probably would have got a better offer, maybe a free balcony instead of an inside, lol!
  9. Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I’m glad it popped up again as I probably passed over it initially because I didn’t want to be disappointed, what a misleading title, lol! In the meantime I booked the 14 day round trip from Long Beach to Alaska on the Miracle for September 2023 so I thought I should check it out. I am so looking forward to the cruise now, we go to Sitka, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Straight, Tracy Arm, Ketchikan and Victoria. Your pics are absolutely fabulous and how lucky you were to get such spectacular weather. I hope we are lucky too although it’s late in the season. You are a gifted writer and storyteller so please do reviews of all your future cruises and a live review from your solo trip on the Mardi Gras is a must, I look forward to following along! Thanks again, going to save this one to read again as our time gets closer, happy cruising!
  10. Thank you for the wonderful review. We are taking our daughter, grandson and son in law on Panorama October 8th. This cruise was originally scheduled on the Vista in April 2020 for my daughter’s 40th birthday, I’m so excited it’s finally happening, even more so after reading your review!
  11. I don’t think you can, my son bought beautiful flowers for his bride during their stay in Vancouver pre cruise. They confiscated the flowers at check in and wouldn’t let him bring them on board the Spirit, this was three years ago.
  12. Thank you for changing the font, I am really enjoying your review. We were on Vista the first week of April, looking forward to reading the rest of your adventure!
  13. The self serve beer and wine stations are not included with Cheers.
  14. Yes, fully refundable pre cruise and the OBC credits will go back into your booking order and will be available to use again pre cruise. It takes a little while, I don’t think more than an hour for the OBC to show up as available when you go to purchase something else.
  15. Thank you! Fortunately my IPad opened on Cruise Critic this morning, saw this and had that sucker in my cart 30 seconds later, lol! We’re on the Vista April 22nd cruise, plan to get off early, check into our cabana and then taxi over to Daniel’s Johnson’s to play with the sloths and monkeys. The rest of the day we will be enjoying the beach and our cabana, can’t wait!
  16. Thank you so much, such a fun read and also a ton of useful info. The hubby and I will be in Mahogany Bay for the first time next year, your pics and review of the beach area gives me a good idea what to expect and it’s exactly what I was hoping for. We won’t be on the Jubilee until 2024 but your review makes me even more excited to experience all it has to offer, maybe we should add on for a back to back, you’re a bad influence, lol! Looking forward to reading about your next adventure, thanks for the entertainment!
  17. I have been checking at least three times a day for over a month to snag one of those cabanas for our April 2023 cruise. I am determined and will not fail, lol! Thank you so much for this wonderful review Wildra, I am enjoying every word, pic and especially the jokes! I can’t wait to read Jamman’s when this one is done! 😎
  18. The code will not work for me for my October 8, 2022 Panorama cruise. I tried Cheers, Cruise Cash, Steak House and a blow out in the spa and it said promo code invalid every time. No Mothers Day discount for this mom and grandma, bummer! I just had a thought, this cruise is booked with a casino offer for a free inside cabin, I used it for a $800 discount on a Cove balcony, that might be the reason it won’t work. I also didn’t get the e-mail and this is my my first casino offer
