I know we should always look at other official sites besides believing what people say on cruise critic, but I believe in January 2022 “things “changed as far as isolation goes. If you have mild symptoms , And have your Covid vaccinations and or boosters or & are asymptomatic and you have not had a fever for 24 hours and you test positive for Covid, you just need to isolate and stay away from others for five days. Seems this is what most cruise passengers are reporting that they just have a slight cough and otherwise they feel fine but they’ve tested positive. So isolate for five days( on the ship and or in a hotel if you’re not close to home and need to fly ) and then make arrangements to get to your home if it’s not close to your home city where you disembark. Then wear a mask that fits well over your nose and mouth and you are free to be around others and travel on an airplane. Obviously if you’re on a cruise little different you’re either isolated by yourself or with your cruise cabin partner. But I don’t see anywhere that one has to quarantine for 10 days if you are in the USA .I have no idea about Canada or any other country that you’re in. Definitely have to follow the rules of each country. Perhaps a 10 day isolation only refers to if you have just recently got off a cruise ship. Maybe the five days isolation is if you get covid at home or if you’re in the USA and get sick on vacation in a hotel. Perhaps there’s different rules ??

I saw somebody posted from their medallion app the specialty dining menu and it said $25 ,I guess I thought it was always $29. I can’t remember where I read it or what ship but somebody had just posted the dinner menu straight from their medallion app. So I believe there are definitely inconsistencies. Glad there wasn’t a charge for your peach Melba. That would be just so wrong if they did charge .

I believe @bmc Alabama-positive wife ,negative husband is on the Crown Princess and I believe their itinerary is round-trip Seattle, so no Vancouver involved. They just happened to post on the thread- quarantine live on the Royal. I So agree ,Princess should definitely by this time have better information/ paperwork for passengers that are going through this. I don’t believe verbal information is good when you’re going through all this, it’s a trying time.

I’m sorry to hear you are dealing with this. There certainly doesn’t seem to be any consistently with Princess. I definitely thought at this point in the USA there is only a 5 day isolation period not 10. They should have paperwork while onboard to give each Covid + passenger and their traveling/ cabin partner of all the steps. From reading all of the reports across the fleet it is hit or miss with paperwork as I’ve been reading. Well I hope everything works out and you’re able to fly home ( from Seattle to Alabama)after the five days of isolation. I would check with the airline. How long has your wife been in an isolation cabin on board? I believe the day that you test Covid positive doesn’t count ,you count the next day as your day one. Are you also in the isolation cabin with her or in your original cabin? In the US there is no Covid test that you need to take to board the airline. But if princess has notified your airline then make sure you have the Covid positive test for your wife and a letter of recovery. I would still think letter of Recovery for your wife would be fine for the airline after the five days isolation. And if you’re still testing negative then you’re good to go . But all my opinion.

Then you should be good to connect your balcony by opening the dividers with your friends and or family from D441-443. Just ask your cabin steward and they will unlock it for you .

Are you trying to connect your balcony with cabin D441 or dolphin 501? Somebody else will probably have to chime in with experience staying in that cabin,but you may not be able to connect to dolphin 501?( fire door maybe)

Cathygh-sorry to hear of your isolation. Too bad Princess can’t be consistent in giving everyone paperwork of what to do or not in their isolation cabin and after if they need to go to a hotel. Seems like some people get a letter and some are just left on their own. Hope your isolation cabin is short for you and you get home soon . Assuming there are two of you in your original cabin and you both moved to the isolation cabin or just 1 of you?

TracieABD- Love it,laundry as a sport! Well I’m glad that the person that came from another floor gave you the dryer. No I don’t believe they come as a set. On a Princess ship I only wash things in the machine and rarely dry them ,I take almost everything back to the cabin and hanging it up to dry. With the exception of underwear,that usually gets sent out with the elite laundry or I dry It myself in the machine.

I think they were referring to CC as Captains Circle party which is a repeat guest party. They usually report how many passengers are elite, platinum, etc. They also announce the top three passengers by days that they’ve sailed ,I think that’s what somebody was asking for that information.

So was this airport stop and water stop in Canada or USA ? If Canada how did you “ clear” Border crossing if “ seal” was broken on bus? Hope you are feeling better as it has been a few days.

You may dress the same in both. Formal nights are not enforced. Now ,maybe shorts,tank tops,etc. might be turned away on formal night??

The Princess theaters second show usually starts anywhere from 9pm to 9:30pm. If you have a table for two for dinner, you can usually can get out of dining room faster. Keep in mind there are shows in the smaller venues like Explorers Lounge too,but times may conflict with your dining. Keep in mind you can change or try once onboard your pre arranged time to fit your schedule. You can even change between dining rooms and tables. You do not have to be “ locked” into a time. check once it gets closer to your itinerary and see if there is A Live from The Caribbean Princess thread or ask someone to post Patters when the New England itinerary starts. Probably best to look at Crown Patters now,but also check when it gets closer to your itinerary in the fall . Maybe someone will do a Live from right before your itinerary. The Princess theater has production shows( Encore, Sweet Soul , & Blame it on the Boogie)comedians,,magicians,etc. So some evenings will be slightly different Times, first show is anywhere between 7-7:30 pm start time and late show start time anywhere between 9:00-9:45 pm. Of course there is usually a marriage show and other shows going on in a smaller venue like Explorers Lounge.

There is currently no traditional dining on Princess. One may make a reservation or you just show up. The new program that’s been going on for a little while now, it’s called dine my way. So basically anytime the dining room is open you can dine in there, no reservations needed ,but you can make a reservation and you can switch between dining rooms you don’t have to go to the same dining room each night and you can get a different table every night.

Thanks for the update on your situation . So frustrating to hear that Princess dropped the ball and now you can not get a hold of your go to person for guidance on how long you are supposed to be in the Seattle area hotel. Do please post when you get a chance of everything that you’ve been through just helps others see what to be prepared for. Seems inconsistent at best from passenger to passenger. ,ship to ship. i’m thinK it’s 5 day isolation,( count test day as 0)then go about your business, masked. Test on day 5 or when you get back home. Were there other Covid + cruise passengers and their traveling partners with you from Vancouver to Seattle? Hope your symptoms are mild and go away quick and your plane ride home a good one.

Yes check your flights. I just looked at SWA earlier today to see if any Of my upcoming flights are cheaper and I noticed a travel itinerary change for one of them. They have my email address and they also have my text phone number and I was never notified. Luckily they change for free when that happens, but now I have a two hour and 40 minute layover instead of a five hour layover that they gave. So definitely pays to check with all the airlines because Southwest certainly did not notify me
