  1. No you do not need to have all your luggage with you on the land portion. They will give you tags that say something like -take with me or meet me at the ship. I found the land portion very organized. You will get a packet either at airport or at first hotel/ bus.
  2. If you go to www.princesslodges.com there is a fact sheet for each lodge,of course not sure how up to date it is,but.... i would definitely call the lodge that you think you might need to do laundry at, to double check..
  3. Not sure what month you’re going or your itinerary, but you can always look a couple weeks before your cruise to see if anybody posts patters. Just know you do not have to be locked into a dinner time. You can go to dinner anytime that any of the dining rooms are open. Of course there may be a wait depending on the size of the table that you want etc.,but you do not have to book it before you actually cruise. But there was a cruise thread titled -live with Celine from The Grand in May. These are the times in the Patter. 7:30 PM to 8:15 PM and 930 pm to 10:15 PM sweet soul of music. The day that they were in college fijord there was a show in The Princess Theatre with a vocal impressionist from 9:30 PM to 10:15 PM. The yes no game show was in Explorers lounge from 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM. The day that they were in Juneau from 7 PM to 7:45 PM Libby riddles a Iditarod champ was in the theater and 930pm to 10:15 PM there was a vocalist. And 830pm to 9:15 PM liars club in Explorers lounge. So this just gives you an idea of what there is in the princess theater and Explorers Lounge the times in May on The Grand.
  4. What Lodge will you plan to do laundry? Denali Wilderness Lodge says on their fact sheet that they have laundry. Mt. McKinley Lodge- I don’t believe they have guest laundry, no definite answer on that. They might though.( call the lodge directly) Perhaps if you let others know what lodge you’re interested in doing laundry somebody can come forward. There’s a few LIve froms right now for a land tour.( Steelers.... comes to mind as the thread starter) I know when we took our Alaska cruise tour several ,several years ago there would’ve been no time for us to do laundry as we were off seeing the sites and or exhausted. We did the Land tour first and then the cruise.
  5. I was wondering the same thing @ Ken the Cruiser. Original post- We are on the Island Princess now and mask are required in all public settings, no sitting at bars, and I am sure there will be quite a few sick ones when we reach London. You walk down the halls and the little tables they have outside the cabins where passengers have Covid keep increasing daily. Nice ambience when you walk by red bio-hazard waste bags in the hall ways and empty styrofoam food containers. Cruising is really not much fun when you have to be on constant alert about Covid. We will be canceling our 4 cruises we have booked this year on Princess and spend our money on vacations that are much lower risk for contacting Covid than cruising. The inconsiderate and "the rules do not apply to me" passengers do not help the situation either.
  6. The Experience Center (located aft-starboard) has max capacity 6 people and no age restrictions. This is ship's Escape Room hosting the "Phantom Bridge" game that combines physical and virtual/digital elements for unique puzzle-solving experiences at sea.- according to cruise mapper. see if you can ask somebody that’s posting a Live from - The Discovery Princess and see if it’s even been open. Unlock the Phantom Bridge, our new Escape Room Discovery at SEA and Princess partner to create an industry-first escape room experience, driven by a powerful gaming engine. With hundreds of different outcomes, this immersive interactive experience puts your team's creative thinking skills to the test. Work together as you travel through time and the room comes to life around you. It's an adventure the whole family can enjoy together.( from Princess.com) check if available on Discovery, might only be on Enchanted)
  7. @cruzin4us- Great photos and narrative. Enjoy your cruise and post when you are able.
  8. There is a thread dated May 28 Alaska on the Royal and patters are posted there, so you may wish to find that thread. The first night was 7:30 PM to 8:15 PM with a comedian and 9:30 PM to 10:15 PM. Day two 7:30 PM to 8:15 PM and 9:30 PM to 10:15 PM colors of the world. And yes it may make a difference where the ship is going for the itinerary they very well could change. But you don’t have to be locked into a dinner time if you don’t want to. Of course there’s other types of shows in the smaller lounges and venues like the marriage game and others ,so always something going on. You can always wait till you get on board and decide what shows you want and go to & plan dinner accordingly
  9. Totally understand. Hope you find an answer before you cruise. And if not post your experience after your cruise. Enjoy your vacation
  10. To see if the bus has WiFi, You might also want to post on a roll call that departs from Vancouver cruise port and or A LIVE from on one of those itineraries ,you might get someone that is planning on doing the same exact transfer weeks before or has already done it. What’s the chance that before you actually get on your cruise ship that you could fill everything out using Wi-Fi in the terminal ( in Canada) before you get on the ship.
  11. This is a disembarkation sheet from a recent cruiser. And yes there are Princess transfers to Vancouver airport and to SeaTac. I know this doesn’t help the OP to answer anything about Wi-Fi on the bus getting to Vancouver but I have indeed taken the bus years ago after an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver to Seattle on a Princess transfer.
  12. Do the walkers/ rollators fold up? If so have the wheelchair “ people”/ staff put them on the back of the wheel chair handles. Are you traveling with two wheelchairs or will you be using the ones from the princess staff? I’m sure if you’re using the ones that princess provides they provide an attendant to wheel your family members/ friends and they’ll know exactly what to do. I don’t think you have to go retrieving anything.
  13. No free Internet on board any of the Princess ships that I know of. And I’ve read lots of people that have the Internet included in their cruise package & they were barely able to send emails ,so I definitely wouldn’t rely on the Internet even if you paid for it on the ship.It would probably be a waste of your time. But all in my opinion and plenty of Internet topics out there on cruise critic specifically on Covid tests to get back into USA from Canada. Don’t know your itinerary or your ship but quite a few people are taking a princess transfer( bus/ drive) from Vancouver to Seattle and flying out of Seattle and no Covid test required. Or you can rent a car one way from Vancouver to Seattle and no test required. But if you need to do a Covid test and you’re in Vancouver search around and make an appointment. Or if you’re computer savvy if your day before disembarkation is Victoria do a proctored test somewhere in Victoria with Internet connection on shore or an appointment in Victoria if feasible. Voyages ending in Canada: Guests are responsible to arrange their COVID-19 tests and pay directly to the testing facility. If departing Canada by air, guests are highly encouraged to pre-reserve COVID-19 testing appointments at the Vancouver or Quebec airport in advance. Please note, tests are not required for guests disembarking in Vancouver and returning to the US via motorcoach.* We encourage guests to review their home country’s health authority and travel websites for the latest guidance on required testing and timing for return travel. If guests would prefer to have the required test completed while still on board, Princess has partnered with Optum so that before traveling to the ship U.S.-based vaccinated guests can order an FDA-authorized at-home antigen test kit, shipped to their homes in three business days or less. Guests can take these tests on the ship, using MedallionNet to complete the required, video-supervised visit with an eMed Certified Guide through telehealth services. These guides help administer the test and verify the results, usually within 15 minutes. The lab result report is delivered by email and can be printed or displayed on your mobile device during check-in. Please place your order with enough time to receive the test at home before going to the ship. Order your test kit online^. *As long as guests have the right to enter the U.S. (citizenship or visa), they do not need a test to enter at a land border. ^You are now leaving princess.com and navigating to a 3rd party website that is not owned, operated, or controlled by Princess or any of its affiliates.
  14. Buddysmom10- so tell us what happened with UAL at check in today, thanks.
  15. So your friend that tested Covid positive, really she was put up in a Seattle hotel at Princesses expense? I have heard that you pay for the hotel yourself and then you put in a claim to your travel insurance for reimbursement and the Claim to Princess. Also “ you” Get a food allowance but again you pay for that upfront yourself out of your pocket and then put in a claim. Apparently if you have a traveling partner/cabin partner it is paid per person for food.
  16. Glad you made it home. Sleep and get better day by day. Wow 10 1/2 hrs driving.
  17. Some international destinations don’t let you check in online. I would call United, they would probably be the only ones to help you. Have a nice flight and cruise.
  18. Thanks. Currently seems as if some passengers are not doing the 10 day isolation and flying on day 6 , so I can see why cruise passengers are getting confused and conflicting info. I’ve just been reading a lot about actual scenarios of people testing positive while on a cruise in the USA, not talking about other countries.
  19. I know we should always look at other official sites besides believing what people say on cruise critic, but I believe in January 2022 “things “changed as far as isolation goes. If you have mild symptoms , And have your Covid vaccinations and or boosters or & are asymptomatic and you have not had a fever for 24 hours and you test positive for Covid, you just need to isolate and stay away from others for five days. Seems this is what most cruise passengers are reporting that they just have a slight cough and otherwise they feel fine but they’ve tested positive. So isolate for five days( on the ship and or in a hotel if you’re not close to home and need to fly ) and then make arrangements to get to your home if it’s not close to your home city where you disembark. Then wear a mask that fits well over your nose and mouth and you are free to be around others and travel on an airplane. Obviously if you’re on a cruise little different you’re either isolated by yourself or with your cruise cabin partner. But I don’t see anywhere that one has to quarantine for 10 days if you are in the USA .I have no idea about Canada or any other country that you’re in. Definitely have to follow the rules of each country. Perhaps a 10 day isolation only refers to if you have just recently got off a cruise ship. Maybe the five days isolation is if you get covid at home or if you’re in the USA and get sick on vacation in a hotel. Perhaps there’s different rules ??
  20. I saw somebody posted from their medallion app the specialty dining menu and it said $25 ,I guess I thought it was always $29. I can’t remember where I read it or what ship but somebody had just posted the dinner menu straight from their medallion app. So I believe there are definitely inconsistencies. Glad there wasn’t a charge for your peach Melba. That would be just so wrong if they did charge .
  21. I believe @bmc Alabama-positive wife ,negative husband is on the Crown Princess and I believe their itinerary is round-trip Seattle, so no Vancouver involved. They just happened to post on the thread- quarantine live on the Royal. I So agree ,Princess should definitely by this time have better information/ paperwork for passengers that are going through this. I don’t believe verbal information is good when you’re going through all this, it’s a trying time.
  22. I’m sorry to hear you are dealing with this. There certainly doesn’t seem to be any consistently with Princess. I definitely thought at this point in the USA there is only a 5 day isolation period not 10. They should have paperwork while onboard to give each Covid + passenger and their traveling/ cabin partner of all the steps. From reading all of the reports across the fleet it is hit or miss with paperwork as I’ve been reading. Well I hope everything works out and you’re able to fly home ( from Seattle to Alabama)after the five days of isolation. I would check with the airline. How long has your wife been in an isolation cabin on board? I believe the day that you test Covid positive doesn’t count ,you count the next day as your day one. Are you also in the isolation cabin with her or in your original cabin? In the US there is no Covid test that you need to take to board the airline. But if princess has notified your airline then make sure you have the Covid positive test for your wife and a letter of recovery. I would still think letter of Recovery for your wife would be fine for the airline after the five days isolation. And if you’re still testing negative then you’re good to go . But all my opinion.
