  1. CanadianBurger- thanks for the nice 80’s cruise Live from. The Bon Jovi band The Wanted,we see many times in AZ at a Casino. We enjoy them and will see them in February. So glad to see them on Princess, they need more entertainment like this.
  2. Cruise til you drop, sorry what happened to you or is happening on your current cruise. Maybe the semantics of guaranteed cabin you mention... usually a guaranteed cabin means for a certain category or higher not an actual cabin number given is called a guaranteed when you book. sorry, sounds like you actually had a cabin number assigned to you and it was changed on you, if I’m understanding correctly . I would be upset as well. Can only at this point while you’re onboard try to get a hold of the hotel manager and like you said see if they can give you some onboard credit for your troubles or at least explain it to you of why it happened .
  3. Honestly tell your brother-in-law to pack a pair of pants for just incase and for the rest of us ,tell your brother-in-law to go to the main dining room for dinner in his shorts every single night and report back here what actually happens. BeCause you never do know unless you try it. Some ships “you “might be able to get away with it ,some you may not. Some “dining room managers “may let people in shorts to dine,,some may not. The only way to find out is to try it . Of course this usually just pertains to dinner. If you go to the main dining room for breakfast or lunch not a problem to go in with shorts on.
  4. Crazy situation for you, 3X. Princess no upgrade! When I book a cabin, I book a specific cabin that I like that location and pay accordingly whatever it be. Wow reading so many of these things does not entice me want to book a princess cruise or any other right now. I do think the author/Op of this thread just didn’t have all their information and probably had a guarantee cabin ,but who knows ....
  5. Thanks everyone. I was just trying to answer the author/ thread starter. Yes, I have been having issues with Princess.com. yes cache & cookies, history are clear. only want safari on my iPad. i’m good, thanks for the replies.
  6. I am not on the app. just www.princess.com or Princess.com
  7. Yes, I have been for months now. I have not tried on my regular laptop. But on my iPad mini, princess.com keeps saying sorry for the inconvenience. apparently princess does not want me to book, that’s what I’ve chalked it up to. Maybe my iPads operating system is no good out of date? I have no idea ,but I have no problems getting other websites on my iPad.
  8. cruzin4us, Dukes is delicious. Mac salad,Mai tai, macadamia mahi-mahi - nice. Love the photos food or landscape.
  9. Hope you meant January 29th, otherwise you have sailed already. I have had a midship cabin near the elevator on a Princess ship, not necessarily the Diamond ,had no noise issues, but every voyage could be different. We enjoyed the proximity to catch the elevator as we are not stair people.
  10. cruzin4us- nice information and photos. how nice that you received “stuff” from the VP of food & beverage. Nice touch.
  11. Well I definitely did not know that you were already off, I thought this was a Live 10 day cruise.( I definitely missed the first page of your post cruise details) I’m sorry that your tour was not as described .I probably wouldn’t have been happy with how your tour went . Description definitely says you can take photos at pottery shop. Description definitely says guided tour of Malecon sculptures. can only do a review now to warn others.
  12. Bimmer09- Great pictures. While you are still on board tell the shore excursion desk that your LaPaz tour was not as described. Show them the description and talk to a shore excursion manager. Make them do something for you. I totally agree with you on the description ,that’s unfortunate. Under the princess.com shore excursion there is a customer review section and there is only three reviews for that tour and 2 out of 3 are not good reviews.
  13. Bimmer09- I believe the highlights tour description in LaPaz does explain that you will stop at a pottery shop. I think you did the right thing ,if you weren’t interested in pottery ,skip going in. I don’t think the tour guide or the bus driver held anybody hostage and told you cruisers they had to go into the pottery shop like you sort of described.( forced shopping) From your description more people went into the pottery shop then did not .The tour description says that you will have a guided walking tour on the Malecon with a description of the sculptures ,doesn’t seem like you did that ,but you’ve got some great photos . I agree that you probably should complain to the tour desk onboard that the description was not what you thought it was. They (tour description online)also doesn’t describe stopping for 45 minutes to get tacos ,but with a 40 minute drive each way to and from the ship and a tour in between, I would think most people would be hungry to stop for something for lunch .
  14. BrandiGreg, I hope you sent it back and asked for a proper one. Or was it eaten? Maybe the arugula was pears not potato slices? Interesting - what did the menu description say?
  15. Ceilidh1- how nice that you received a guest invite to the most traveled lunch, food looks great in your photos. happy last night of your cruise.
  16. Ceilidh1- loving your drink pictures and food pictures and what a great review and information. Don’t worry about offending anybody telling it like it is ,if things aren’t “right /correct” . of course you’re having a good time- you’re on a cruise. My reviews are always factual regardless of what anybody else’s experience is ,because more than likely it’s different. So definitely enjoying my armchair Cruise via you.
  17. I guess time will tell . Not going to be setting sail for awhile.
  18. Maybe like what Carnival has on some of their ships?? ROPES COURSE The chance to complete an awesome challenge, high above it all… now that's what you want in a good ropes course. An awesome ropes course, however, will let you do all that with a cool sea breeze and a view to match! Not sure that navigating a high-up-there challenge is for you? Did we mention that on this one you'll be safely strapped in, emboldening you to take on the kinds of challenges you may not normally feel up to? Here everyone — even kids — become thrill-seekers, testing their ability to make their way around the course, which features two levels of challenge, letting you increase or decrease the toughness as you go. So take to the sky! In the circle magazine issue two and three it talks about families. I know Princess currently has programs for children ,teens too.I think they’re trying to appeal to younger people to experience Princess for the first time and continue doing so,so they need things for younger people to do ,like rope courses /rollgliders etc. So just because one Princess ship doesn’t fit beautiful for everyone ,there’s probably another one out there. While none of that ( the top deck adventure stuff)would appeal to me on the Sun Princess doesn’t mean I wouldn’t consider this ship when I cruise again. Right now I haven’t cruised since 2019. And obviously a person that has never cruised Princess would not get the circle magazine ,I do believe there’s promotional/social media posts about Princess welcoming families and all the exciting things that they have coming for kids to do .
  19. Maybe this is what will be on the new Sun Princess?? Rollglider Track The Concept The Jump&Run is born from the desire to combine the best of two worlds – Active Entertainment and Thrill Rides. People are seeking physical activity – be it because they want to be fit or more recently because they’ve been sitting on the couch for too long. On the other hand, they are seeking thrill and excitement. The Rollglider Jump&Run combines both for a thrilling yet physically challenging adventure race. The goal of the Jump&Run is to challenge. The concept, inspired by video games, is to beat your opponent to the finish platform and of course to push yourself – to run faster, jump higher and conquer your fears. To achieve this goal, the Jump&Run combines a dual-line racing Rollglider track with obstacles inspired by adventure courses. The ultimate goal is for every participant to get a taste of what it’s like to be a real-life video game hero. The Thrill of Flying The Rollglider combines free-falling with the feeling of flying for a thrilling aerial experience. The dual-line allows for a shared pulse-spiking experience that has no-analog in the Amusement industry Visitors can sip, soar and glide over other attractions and experience the FEC like never before. The Thrill of Competition Featuring obstacles inspired by challenge courses and a healthy dose of thrill, the Jump&Run is a one-of-a-kind competition that requires physical fitness and the will to push yourself beyond. The concept proves to be appealing to young visitors as it draws inspiration from video games such as Super Mario and allows one to fully immerse into the idea of being a real-life superhero. The gamification of the ride allows for scorekeeping and can play a part in loyalty programs by rewarding the most dedicated contestants. The Benefits Gamification stimulates visitors to compete and enhances the experience. High-capacity dual-line attraction- perfect for group visits, birthdays, and team buildings. A unique competition ride that combines the fear factor of flying with active entertainment.
  20. LGB is a great, small airport. I grew up a mile from Long Beach airport and I fly there all the time to see family. There are quite a few hotels ( off the top of my head there is a residence Inn, staybridge suites,Hampton inn, homewood, courtyard by Marriott ,holiday inn ,Marriott ) all right near the Long Beach airport -stay at one of those ,some of them may even offer complementary transportation to the hotel. And then the next morning take an Uber or a Lyft ride to the San Pedro world cruise terminal ,easy. Obviously with a group of 10,you’re going to need a couple Ubers or Lyfts . I’m not sure if there is a shared van ride service anymore ,but you could check into that with your party of 10 . No cons that I can think of. Lots of food places within a mile of the airport .
  21. ceilidh1- looking forward to more of your live from the Ruby Princess. You are very informative. Hope you get a little bit of sleep before you board your cruise. Sounds like quite the adventure
  22. Too late for the person that posted this as they’ve already taken their taxi ride. But that’s why you should consider a ride share like Lyft/ Uber and you know before you even take the ride how much the price is.Or for a future taxi riders ask before you get in the car how much the taxi ride will be approximately . But most vehicles nowadays don’t hold four people ,plus luggage .the original poster had a minivan for four people and luggage ,$40 doesn’t sound too bad even though airport to cruise terminal is a very short ride in Ft. Lauderdale. To the original poster I’d say the $15 plus tip that you and your wife took back in 2019 was probably a car and not a minivan and supply and demand and inflation is probably the change along with you doubled the amount of people in the vehicle.
