  1. I’m so enjoying your review (as I always do). Love your dress and the tiara! Sounds like you’re having a fabulous birthday, as you should. Thank you so much for sharing it!
  2. Happy, happy, happy birthday, Charla!!!🎂🍾🥂 I agree with @Corgidawgga, you will love your forties! (My 40th birthday was my first day of law school.) Enjoy your day and the rest of the cruise! Vivien
  3. I have tears in my eyes at Charla’s and Jim’s comments about the 9/11 museum. My husband and I went to the museum during an overnight stop in NYC near the end of a TA. I started tearing up at the memorial fountains. I barely held it together throughout the museum. I’m glad we went, but I’ll never go back. My family and I visited Dachau when I was in high school. I’m glad I went, but I’ll never go back. Memories of both still haunt me, but those of the 9/11 museum more so. Probably because I remember that day so vividly.
  4. Yay! Another live review from Charla/GenX. 😊 I love your reviews’
  5. @Ken the cruiser, I’m enjoying this live review so much! We don’t cruise nearly as much as you do, and we’ve been die hard Celebrity cruisers since our first Alaskan cruise on the Mercury. Some of the Celebrity-Princess comparisons on the Celebrity board piqued my interest, so I decided to take a look at the Princess board and was thrilled to see a live report from you! I think I’ll start looking at Princess in addition to Celebrity. We are pretty much limited to 2 weeks maximum as I’m still working and we have 2 dogs, but your long cruises sound wonderful!
  6. Never mind — I just saw the answer on a different thread.
  7. How long before the cruise do times generally open up? Is it different in Europe? We’ve only cruised once last summer since it started back up and they were quite strict about boarding times then. I think we were on the second sailing of Equinox from Port Everglades.
  8. I agree. My husband has lower back pain, and he would not be able to walk that far, even using a cane.
  9. For sweeter “martinis,” the 25th Anniversary or the French 75. Neither are overly sweet.
  10. I love the vermouth rinse martini. Tanqueray 10 with a twist, or Hendricks with a slice of cucumber. I don’t remember if they have cucumber slices at the Martini Bar. At home, it’s Boodles on the rocks with a twist and 3 sprays of vermouth from the Martini Mister.
  11. Thank you for sharing your cruise, and happy anniversary!
  12. We originally booked a 7-night Reflection Caribbean for January 3, 2020, 1A verandah for $1759 p/p while we were onboard the Summit in April of 2019 (later went down to $1014 p/p. Due to family issues, we moved that deposit to an August 8, 2020 Reflection Caribbean 1A for $1309 p/p. In March 2020, we moved the deposit to a 14-night TA on Constellation sailing from Rome October 31, 2020 for $2534 p/p in AQ (included internet, classic drinks pkg, and grats). That cruise was canceled and we L&S to 15-day Constellation departing Rome October 23, 2021, AQ for $2544 p/p (with 4 perks). That was canceled and we then L&S to 15-night Reflection TA departing Rome October 22, 2021 for $2544 p/p, keeping all the perks. That was canceled, and we L&S to Reflection 13-day TA departing Barcelona October 31, 2022 at a cost pf $1966.46 p/p ($2067 including taxes, fees, & port charges), with same perks included plus additional OBC from TA. Currently, AQ is $2966 p/p with Always Included (which is still not a bad price).
  13. OP said in a later post that he liked the idea of the all in or even Elevate options.
  14. Sun Bum makes a variety of mineral sunscreens. Another advantage to mineral sunscreens -- they don't make your eyes burn if forehead sweat drips into your eyes. Always used to happen to my husband with non-mineral sunscreens. We both like the rash guards, too.
  15. Congratulations on your remission! We did an island tour in St. Kitts and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was with Thenford Grey Tours. Contact is thenfordgreytours dot com.
  16. If you are sailing with an Always Included fare, coffee at Cafe al Bacio is included.
  17. I agree, and I love "free range parents"! I haven't heard that term before, but it's perfect!
  18. I check prices all the time. I haven’t seen anything close to the price we have for an AQ cabin on the Reflection TA in October. Multiple Lift & Shifts may be responsible for that.
  19. So sorry you caught it, Jamie. I hope your symptoms are mild and that you recover quickly. Hope your husband stays negative, too.
