  1. Section where champagne bar was is closed off and all lights off. Big fans blowing as well. Issue seems to have been a leak which hit electrics hence the smell. Outside Dorset on deck 3 have been left open but you can still smell it. I went on the cable car this morning to the botanical gardens. As we were coning down so did the cloud. Can't see top station now so glad I went early.
  2. Hello from QV in Funchal. For anyone who is interested lunch in the verandah was clam chowder lemon sole and strawberry pavlova. All excellent. It was very busy but I don't think anyone was a paying customer. So far there has been a medical emergency. No airlift so hopefully that means it wasn't serious. Today was a bit more serious. Soon after 8am a call went out for a first aid response team to the grand lobby. Not sure what happened but the section where the champagne bar was is cordoned off. Also a horrible smell of burning. They soon had it under control.
  3. Lunch was very good. I'm going to give afternoon tea a miss today. 🤣
  4. You will need to enter by the main entrance for breakfast and lunch to be assigned a table. Likewise for dinner if you are on open sitting. However if you have an assigned eating time and table then after the first night you will be fine to use the rear entrance.
  5. I am thanks. There are now chairs and tables in the photo gallery so I am sat doing the crossword. Well trying anyway. There are also games out and jigsaws. The sea is much calmer today no white at all and the sun is out. Hopefully I might see some wildlife later. I am having lunch in the steakhouse today. Courtesy of Cunard.
  6. Hello from Queen Victoria. I have avoided signing up for the internet package. The price has come down to $135 so I signed up. Weather so far has been windy and cool but hopefully better today.
  7. The upgrade fairy can visit at any time.
  8. I would avoid deck 7 and go for deck 5 or 6. Deck 8 has the lido, winter garden pools and gym so you could get noise on deck 7.
  9. You are of course, correct. That was from when the three Queens were in Liverpool.
  10. Not a new port but a strange view.
  11. It looks like Halifax Nova Scotia to me.
  12. Yes you're right and I agree, it's a lovely port.
  13. I am pretty sure the cabins for quarantine are kept empty so you should be safe. The tap water is perfectly safe to drink I usually find that there is plenty to keep me busy in a sea day.
  14. How about this one? Seen from the Atlantic Room on QM2
  15. I have by booster today and collected the Tux from the cleaners so all set now. 4 more days to work and then Southampton here I come.
  16. I booked a glass bottom boat trip. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to high winds. It was a few years go so sorry can't remember the prices.
  17. It is the Dover Strait. I'm not sure I should admit this, but it was Fred Olsen's Braemar
  18. Plus they must be saving on drinks. One small glass of Pol Aker per person, rather than 2 or 3 at a party.
  19. My mum and I are getting out Covid boosters on Saturday. It will be her 5th and my 4th. I still need to arrange my flu jab but I will do that after my next cruise.
  20. I'm on the 30th October trip as well and got the email last Saturday. One thing I have noticed is there was no E-Ticket, have these been done away with? They were never checked anyway.
  21. Cunard used to publish a list, but I think they stopped doing it. The list was not always very reliable which is possibly why they stopped publishing it.
  22. I'm glad you're enjoying it and I hope it stays that way.
