  1. We really have gone through the looking glass when we start advising someone to fly into a storm so that they can ride it out for a few days so that they don't have to worry about boarding their cruise.
  2. I'll add that you may or may not have dedicated suite security and check-in lines. You may have one, both, or neither. That depends entirely on the port, though.
  3. II don't know how it is at the moment, and I don't know how things have been at PC, but the fleetwide policy was somewhat limited earlier this year. You still had to schedule an arrival time, but suite guests could arrive and be checked in up to an hour before that arrival time. Of course, that also was limited to when the terminal opened for arrivals (i.e., if they opened at 11 AM, then that's the earliest you could get in).
  4. Celebrity has made no such change at this time.
  5. As was lovingly explained to me while I was in Cornwall, you must load enough clotted cream upon the scone so that it just touches the tip of your nose when you take the first bite. Just how in the world are you supposed to do that if you put the jam on after?
  6. He was, as well as the main bar in the early evening. He remembered my Martini.
  7. We were on the Whisper and thought of you more than once! Sorry for not getting back with you, but we were busy enjoying our anniversary weekend!
  8. You're going to find stories all over the place. We've had some fantastic cruises since the restart. Others have had some rough times. As mentioned, staffing and supply chain currently are issues everywhere, and cruising is no exception to either. But, yes, here's hoping that all issues are behind us by the end of the year.
  9. Oh, goodie. Are we going to debate as to whether there's a debate?
  10. Pretty much yes. They will stay as long as they can if you are on a Celebrity sponsored excursion. In the rare case that they do have to take off, you will have assistance from them as to getting back to the ship (what measure is something that I, fortunately, am not completely acquainted with). If you are not on a Celebrity sponsored excursion, they won't wait so much as a moment unless they also happen to be waiting on a Celebrity sponsored excursion.
  11. Overall, you shouldn't have a problem. However, there have been days where the internet was so slow that it was virtually useless. That's not a Celebrity issue as much as it is a satellite internet issue, and I've encountered it on other lines. It's just the way it is.
  12. I don't believe there is any mechanism to upload it.
  13. That's the first time I've heard that proposed, and it makes some sense. RC doesn't want to institute a cap on drinks per day, so they just raise the price. Very interesting thought. As for what's worth it, that's everyone's personal decision, and everyone ought to get to make it based on their own reasons. Whether it's because you've done the arithmetic or don't want to do it in the first place, may the wind be at your back for it. I will say this, though. Insults (veiled or not) don't you get you any listeners.
  14. Hang in there. I had a couple that took a while for the arrival times to finally show up, but they did. I want to say it happened around 30 days, but I really don't recall. To be entirely correct, there would be only one arrival time available at check-in: 3:00 PM. We knew that wasn't really the case. One day, all the times were there.
  15. The used to do that sort of thing, but you would get your bottles through the dining room. You could get them one at a time, all at once, or anything in between, and you could take them anywhere after that. It's been a while since they've done that, though. I believe they ended not too long after the drink packages came around. I do not ever recall something like that where they would deliver them to your room, though.
  16. I would expect to be out of your room by 8 AM and off the ship no later than 9.
  17. Even if 11:00 isn't available when you first check in, it's worth going back to look from time to time. Earlier times have been known to open up later on.
  18. It was especially entertaining to watch the channel turf wars (because, you know, no one among the other 3,000+ passengers would dare bring their own).
  19. FWIW, I just checked out the app on my android phone. It took a little longer to start up than normal, but not by much. It ran just fine after that.
  20. I've had mixed experiences at Tuscan Grille and, frankly, don't know if I care to have any more. Even when we had a great time with magnificant steaks, sides, appetizers, etc., we found the pasta . . . lacking . . . to say the least. Sushi on 5 is fantastic, though! I could eat there every day if I weren't so tempted by other choices and just do different things. We've not tried Le Petit Chef, as that sort of thing just doesn't appeal to us.
  21. There's really no doubt that the spa is a high-risk environment. There's a lot of long-term close contact, and those receiving treatments are (or have been) allowed to keep their masks off (at least at times). With as much time as I've spent in the Summit spa since the restart, I'm more than a little surprised I didn't come away with covid. The timing does sound just about perfect, so it does sound likely it came from the spa. That said, this current strain going around is so dadgum contagious that it really could have been anything. No matter, I'm glad to hear that it passed and that you're looking forward to hitting the spa next time!
  22. That is no exaggeration at all. I've missed elevators because I didn't realize one had arrived and opened. That's no complaint, by the way!
  23. @marieps brings up a mighty fine point. Considering how so many of today's ships have security almost on the level of casinos, I'm even less concerned than I had been about leaving a device behind while hopping in the pool or something like that (and all we've ever done is put it in a bag or under a towel).
  24. You have no worries at all. This is part of the beauty of cruising!
  25. That is not a panacea, even on a small ship. We did that on a Silversea cruise with about 300 boarding, and it was NOT fun. I don't even want to think about the nightmare of ten times that many.
