  1. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like mathematics and was a math minor in college. Sadly no cookie exchange here. I'll salute Zimbabwe Unity. Nice quote. Pass on the meal (fake meat), and drink. I'd try the wine. I have been to Ketchikan. The USGA is older than I thought. It's cloudy here, very drab, and 49F. I managed to sleep 4 hours last night, but I stayed in bed a while, because getting up starts the leg pain. I had to run one errand, to pick up the disc with my MRI. I would have liked to stop at a bakery to get some cookies, but walking is such a pain that I didn't stop. @richwmn Bon Voyage! @Nickelpenny Bon Voyage! @kazu Thank you for starting us up today. @StLouisCruisers Nice photos. @grapau27 Prayers for Pauline's friend and her husband. Thanks for the update. @RMLincoln Your niece's baby is adorable. I hope the closing on the condo goes smoothly. @Heartgrove I'm glad Sam got a better prognosis this time from the vet. @Denise T Enjoy your time off work. Nice Ketchikan photos. @1ANGELCAT I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Lynda's DH Bill and her cousin Drew. Condolences to their families and friends. @dfish @ottahand7 @kochleffel @marshhawk @Quartzsite Cruiser @bennybear@sailingdutchy Thanks for the Ketchikan photos. @Suslor So sorry you developed Covid and spent the cruise in bed. I hope you will rebound quickly. @Cruzin Terri I'm sorry DH's test results upset you so much. I agree about getting results before any medical contact. My health system's portal lets you check a box to not see results if not yet reviewed by your provider. Patients frequently would call the office because a lab test was minutely abnormal, of no consequence, but all they saw was it was outside the normal range. Try not to worry too much until you see the Neurologist. @Cruising-along Good news about DBIL's PSA responding to treatment. Thanks for the photos. @cruising sister She's a cutie. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating. Safe travels to all going to visit friends and family.

  3. Good afternoon. Thanks for the FR/Daily. I'll celebrate winter solstice, as days should start to get longer now. Blue Christmas is relevant for many, sadly, although it's new to me. I'll try not to be a Humbug. Good quote. I like the meal, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Vaiare. 3 good days in history. It's cloudy and in the 40's here. I had another night of strange sleep, being up from 3-5 then falling back asleep. I have spent part of the morning still working on trying to get the procedure done. I will need to get copies of my MRI too. Otherwise, I continue to try to tidy up some, before BFF comes on Christmas Eve to stay a few days. @Haljo1935 Bon Voyage! @kazu Thanks for starting us up today. Sorry to hear about DBIL's DM and I hope her transition is peaceful. Prayers for the family. I hope the packages are gone by now. @seagarsmoker Wow on your luck in the casino. It sounds like you're having a good time. @StLouisCruisers Good luck with the counted cross stitch. I used to do a lot. I started one about 10 years ago for BFF (a German castle), then had all the eye issues. I think mainly the outlining is left. I did get a magnifier that sits on the chest. One day I'll look at it again. Great Moorea photos. @RedneckBob That's cool about the Captain. @richwmn Have a great cruise! Your itinerary is spectacular. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you're doing ok. @cruising sister Thank you for the update on Murphy; prayers she overcomes these obstacles and great that she is more interactive. @ottahand7 Thanks for the clarification on your upcoming cruise. @GTVCRUISER Bon Voyage! @dfish Sorry to hear about the leg cramp; those are the worst. Thanks for the recipes. @RMLincoln Big hugs. You've had a lot going on recently, so settling in is no doubt more difficult. @smitty34877 Safe travels to NH. I am sure the loving grandchildren will be a boost. Prayers for DD and Tana to have no issues. @marshhawk I hope you're feeling better today. Going out in winter with wet hair is a big no for me! @kochleffel Paul, I hope all the issues get straightened out quickly. Do you have heat with the old thermostat? @Quartzsite Cruiser I hope the weather is not too bad, nor the flooding. Great photos. @Seasick Sailor Joy, sorry to hear you felt ill last night. Take it easy today. Maybe something you ate? @grapau27 Lovely table setting and wonderful of you and Pauline to celebrate her day. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating. Be well everyone.

  5. Good afternoon. Thanks for starting us up today @kazu Jacqui, and to @richwmn for the prep. No caroling today for me. I don't have any sangria, but like it. I'll salute Sacagawea. Very true quote. The meal sounds good, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Santa Catalina Island. LA must be celebrating today. It's sunny and a bit warmer; we may get to 40F. I was able to get a few more snoozes in after waking up at 3AM; hence my posting the Cares List a bit late. Yesterday I called my insurance and it seems the doctor who does the preferred procedure is in network (yay if correct; this was an outsourced person I think). I called today to try to schedule and then had to have the request faxed, since this is the other big health system in town. And since he's the only one who does this, they're just scheduling requests from November. I have to call tomorrow to make sure they got the fax. I can be put on a cancellation list to try to get in sooner. When I'm moaning in pain, I may wish I'd picked the other procedure, which I'm sure can be done much sooner. I'll also need to get a disc with the imaging I've had. BFF is out grocery shopping for his stay here over Christmas and meal preparation. This will be an adventure, lol, but sweet of him to do. @seagarsmoker I'm glad the weather has improved and you're enjoying the food. Congrats on the casino wins. @0106 Thanks for the remainder of the quote and the author. @Lady Hudson Enjoy your special Card Club meeting today. @Cruzin Terri I'm sure DH's cognitive tests were interesting. I'm glad your dermatology procedure appointment got moved up! I'm glad the increased prednisone is helping, and I hope that lowering it doesn't precipitate a flare. @1ANGELCAT I heard about the news helicopter. Prayers for the pilot and photographer, and their families and friends. I'm glad Trouble had a good vet visit. @kazu Prayers for you as you meet with Jose's BFF after the loss of his wife. It'll be tough, but he will so appreciate seeing you. @GlennG Welcome to the Daily! @ger_77 Congrats on your casino wins! Safe travels to Calgary tomorrow. @smitty34877 Hugs during this difficult season. Yes, even though I have familiarity with the medical world, it's not easy. Especially as we have 2 competing large health systems here and I've always been with one, and this procedure is done by someone at the other. @tupper10 I hope the grandkids continue to improve and can arrive tomorrow night. @cruising sister I'm in a Medicare Advantage plan, which is an HMO. I'm thinking to change to the PPO form, which would pay some for out of network. I've never needed to go outside the network before. @marshhawk Congrats on the work bonuses. @Nickelpenny Thanks for the Avalon photos. @RMLincoln It's nice that you have options for meals during the holidays, if you don't want to cook. Rest and recover. @summer slope No worries! Sorry you have to have a tooth pulled. @Quartzsite Cruiser I continue to be impressed with your auto mechanic skills! Thanks for the photos. @Cruising-along Nice photos from Avalon. @superoma Thanks for taking over the meal of the day while Debbie is away! @ottahand7 Sorry to hear about the biopsy result. @Vict0riann Lovely photos. @Crazy For Cats Thanks for sharing photos from your cruise today. Prayers for the Care List and a toast to those Celebrating.

  7. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Some hard candy is ok, but there was some bad Christmas hard candy my DM would buy when I was a kid (the raspberry ones). I'll salute heroes and heroines. There's an evergreen in my next door neighbor's yard. I can her Phyllis Diller saying that. The meal sounds good, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Souda-Chania. It's cloudy here, about 30F, with overnight snow showers and wind. The snow is mainly on the grass, but since the ground was warm there was some ice formation initially. I saw the neurosurgeon this morning, who thinks one of the synovial cysts in the spine is pressing on the nerve causing my symptoms. She offered 2 things to try before resorting to surgery. Both are steroid injections, but the one guy ruptures the cyst. She's had a few people do that and they did very well. Unfortunately, looking online it looks like the person who does that isn't in my insurance network. I'll call my insurance to verify. I don't know if they would make any exception for a procedure done by only one person in town. If either of those injections worked for any length of time, I could put off surgery. If not, then surgery. @St Pete Cruiser Bon Voyage! Have a great cruise and thanks for the photos. @richwmn Safe travels tomorrow. @Nickelpenny I hope the injection kicks in soon. @aliaschief I'm glad you got the India visas, and sorry about the windshield. @ottahand7 That's sad that the restaurant is closing, but lots are having those same problems. @dfish The quilt top was lovely; good job! @Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos from Chania. @summer slope I'm glad your tests went well. @sailingdutchy Lovely photos. @bennybear Thanks for the photos. @RMLincoln Congrats to your niece upon the arrival of her baby! @seagarsmoker Sorry the weather wasn't nice for Grand Turk. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate.

  9. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Sadly I think I'll have to buy some cookies rather than bake them. A salute to all twins! Snowflakes are great, except when I have to drive in them. Interesting quote. Maybe on the meal. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine although a bit pricey. I haven't been to Brest. A good day in history. The weather is not nice here. Windy, dropping temps, rain turning to snow later, snow squall warnings. We're only supposed to get 1-2". My trek tomorrow to the Neurosurgery appointment is on main roads, so I should be ok. I slept about 3.5 hours again. I did get in a 2 hour nap yesterday in the recliner, once my leg settled down. I'm going to try to get BFF's gifts wrapped today, otherwise just chill. He still wants to come and spend a few days, so he will be doing the cooking such as it is, along with getting takeout some days. @ottahand7 Happy BIrthday, Nancy! @Cruzin Terri I hope Jim's MRI goes well. @aliaschief Safe travels home. @grapau27 Thanks for the explanation of Flake appreciation day. @StLouisCruisers Happy Twin Day! @seagarsmoker Wow on your difficulties with no account, and all the hassles. And sorry about all the changes that don't seem for the better. @RedneckBob Welcome back. Thanks for the start of your review. @smitty34877 Hopefully no flooding near you and that you don't need to go out. @kazu Stay safe! Great photos. @Lady Hudson Happy Twin Day! @57redbird I'm sorry you're still having so much pain, and I hope it eases up soon. @Nickelpenny I hope the injection went well! @0106 Thanks for the photos from your excursion to Quimper. @Quartzsite Cruiser Lovely photos. @Ichiban Nekko Thanks for sharing your observations about your cruise. @RMLincoln I'm glad you made it home safely, what with all the weather issues. And that the wedding was great, as was seeing family. The driving part sounds like a white-knuckled affair; I've done that and kissed the ground when I made it home! Oh my on the power outage, but the community sounds well equipped to handle it. Stay safe! @sailingdutchy Wonderful photos, Tony. @Vict0riann Thanks for the photos. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  11. Sandi, it's hard. I can't even finish brushing my teeth standing up, as the leg pain gets too bad. Meals have mainly been soup heated up or some frozen meals. I managed to make a couple of things in the slow cooker, eating some and freezing some. Even those meals you can get delivered require prep. I'm not one that's used home delivery from restaurants at all. I was finishing up season 12 of Call the Midwife. I'd been going slowly, as I didn't want it to be over, lol. I did see there will be a Christmas special and then season 13 starts Jan 7 I believe. I don't think I can record Netflix to my DVR.
  12. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I'll celebrate Canadian Maple syrup and the Wright Brothers. I don't own an ugly Christmas sweater. Not sure about the sleepy conscience part of the quote. I like roast lamb, but never make it myself. Pass on the drink and on the white wine. I haven't been to Ocho Rios, and from what I hear I'm not missing anything. 2 important days in history. It's cloudy here and will be raining shortly. Then the temps will drop and we'll get some snow tomorrow, but not more than 2". I slept a little better - 3.5 hours. I didn't get more than a half hour's sleep in the recliner yesterday; but I did finish watching Call The Midwife. BFF went to the TSO concert last night; we've gone for many years, but I told him I couldn't walk to our seats or go down the steep arena steps. We really need to discuss Christmas, as I can't see how I can cook, since I can't stand very long - we should either postpone or go out to eat. @seagarsmoker @Petunia1950 Bon Voyage! @dobiemom Welcome back. Enjoy your time in Jacksonville with family. @grapau27 Condolences to Pauline's friend on the loss of her Mam, and Pauline. I'm also sorry to hear that her friend is in so much pain following her operation. And bless you for helping the friend's DH out after his own surgery. So much going on for them. @Crazy For Cats Too bad the weather is so variable there. Nice photo of you two. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the photos. I always thought I'd get to Jamaica with my best friend from college who was from there, to see the non-touristy parts, but sadly he passed away a few years ago. @smitty34877 That was kind of DD to do for the workers. Can you at least park near your house now? @kazu Beautiful amaryllis. My Christmas cactus (really a Thanksgiving one based on the leaf shape) finally has a couple of flowers for the first time in years. @kochleffel I hope the furnace is an easy fix. @bennybear That was a very moving post yesterday. @57redbird I hope you're feeling better. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  15. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. The Day of Reconciliation continues to be important for healing. I like most chocolate covered things, except peanuts. I never had any stupid toys. Good quote. The meal sounds good, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I have been to Sydney on my first HAL cruise, Auckland to Sydney, in 2006. 2 important days in history. It's the last nice day for a while. Some sunshine and a high of 55F. Rain, then rain/snow is on the way. Even if there's some snow on Tuesday, I will make it to my Neurosurgery appointment! I'm very sleepy again. I find it hard to believe my watch that says I slept 1.5 hours, but my Fitbit agrees. I did get almost 3 hours off and on in the recliner last evening. The house is a mess, but any standing more than 3 minutes causes significant pain. @cunnorl Nice photos. @StLouisCruisers Lovely photos from Sydney. @grapau27 Prayers for Pauline's friend's Mam. And lovely of Pauline to help her friend after her operation. @aliaschief I'm glad the weather has cooperated so far for your visit to DD's. @Denise T Enjoy having your family there. @Cruzin Terri My condolences on the loss of your UK friend's husband. I hope today is more peaceful for you than yesterday. @tjcox9 That's a great photo! @smitty34877 Here's hoping today is the end of the street work. @rafinmd I don't think it's creepy to draft your own obit. I have no family. The person who knows me best is BFF, and even so he doesn't know much about my life before I moved here. And if I outlive him, then there's no one to write it. @Nickelpenny I hope the steroid shots help. Mine wasn't too bad back in October, mainly some pressure. @Mr. Boston I hope you feel better today. @ottahand7 Cool photo of the sundog. My team plays today too. Seems odd to be on Saturday. There definitely seems to be an uptick in Covid cases. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos from Sydney. @Seasick Sailor Be careful! Sorry to hear people fell. @luvteaching Safe travels up to visit your DM. Enjoy the shopping and lunch. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast for those Celebrating.
