  1. Hopefully with relatively few sea days (only 2 on our 16 day sector) most people will be ashore most days, but agree a dedicated card room is an excellent idea
  2. We have Remembrance Day tomorrow, 2 minutes silence at 11am on the 11 Nov. Originally to commemorate when the guns fell silent after WW1 but then expanded to honour all the dead and wounded from subsequent wars and battles. On Sunday there are Remembrance services in all the churches and a national service at the Cenotaph in London. Gary sells poppies each year for the Royal British Legion, one of our main military charities
  3. We're having a really wet autumn over here. Rain most days with the odd sunny spell. Walking in Henley-on-Thames a couple of days ago the Thames is very high and fast, almost bursting its banks
  4. I remember the same thing happened about six months ago. Offered extremely cheap specialist dinning but you couldn't complete the purchase
  5. I've just checked and the email listed I don't use anymore or have access too. Tried to change it and response was 'not possible ' ☹️
  6. I was thinking of you yesterday. The news said that there were rockets coming over into Central Israel and I wondered if you had to go to the shelter . So unimaginable awful. My heart crys out for you all living through this.
  7. Great pics as always Aussie. 👌 I had to look up sapphire coast as I didn't know where it was. I missed the bit where you said you were on a cruise. Looks lovely. What line and route are you doing? Edited to say : Oops your next post gives all the info
  8. OP was talking about booking specific times each day on MTD Once the cruise is booked go to your RC cruise planner (through computer Web page, not RC app). Once you see your booking click on 'plan my cruise' and you can book specific times under Dinning Heading. First it shows all the fee for specialised dinning and at the bottom you can book MTD slots. The closer to your cruise the more stuff you can book, like shore excursions, drink packages and shows (Oasis class only, not necessary on other class's)
  9. It was surprisingly quite last night, being a Saturday most municipal celebrations were held last night. Maybe it'll be busier (noiser) tonight. Poor molly isn’t keen on the bangs Finally enjoying sunny but cold weather after all the rain we've had recently.
  10. Our local pharmacy's is a small independent one. He is great and knows Gary personally as he goes there a lot for his various drugs. He is always very busy. We had our flu jab there this year, I had popped in for something and he asked if I had had it and did it there and then. Thinking of you today. I hope your knee op goes well and heals quickly and as pain-free as possible
  11. Sorry to hear you had a bad reactionto the flu jab Lenny and your daughter has had serious health issues. I hope its all settled down now and she gets good treatment for her condition soon
  12. Have QF started non stop from SYD to LHR now? Hubby and I were talking about it yesterday and said that I heard they were adding to the non stop PER LHR but didn't know if it had started. Does your daughters visa allow her to work? Both my neice and nephew did a season in Whistler after uni
  13. When I was on Symphony a few months ago they had waiters who took your drink order and went to the bar next door for it. I don't think many DL/CL have a bar actually in the lounge
  14. Our first Royal Caribbean cruise, around the Balearics and mainland Spain, was on Grandeur
  15. Agree, at a minimum people get four weeks leave plus bank holidays . Most get more, plus retired pax like long warm weather cruises. I've had some very enjoyable 12-14 day cruises from Southampton down into Western Med
  16. But on Edge class, on Celebrity they are true balconies instead of the infinity window balcony. So people will pay extra as its the only chance of getting a traditional balcony, unless you move up to suite class. Well I guess there's the port hole balconies too.
  17. You can't see the extras until after you've booked . You then have access to the cruise planner which lists drink packages, speciality dinning costs, excursions, spas etc The costs vary from cruise to cruise and they have 'sales' with percentage off regularly. Price depends on how good their sales are going for that cruise, dynamic pricing...... I'm in the UK and drink packages can be £66 pppd, dinning can be as much as £60 for the steak restaurant or £195 for five night package. But it varies A Google search should give you an idea of costs on board if you pay as you go for drinks. Tea, coffee, iced water etc are included in the cruise price
  18. I think you are meant to have the same address, but who's going to check? As someone who's earned every point, one night one point, maybe two cruises a year, I agree its not fair. Especially since we're now being kicked out of the CL/DL during HH because of overcrowding . Seems like loyalty is one sided to me
  19. We did it a few times pre covid and pre Diamond as we don't drink enough to justify the DP. It was a good deal if you drink mainly the more expensive wines or cocktails, not so much if you just drink beer. It was usually offered in the last three or four days of the cruise. Seem to remember you could share the card. I haven't seen it since the restart and probably wouldn't bother now as four Diamond drinks are enough. In the rare occasion I go over I'll just PAYG
