  1. Hope you come back and tell us all about it! 😀
  2. I have made the decision to book Onward. I love Azamara and I will see for myself. And I will be sure to report back.
  3. Here is the review…..was just again checking for new reviews…. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=690698
  4. Back to the original topic, for those of us who may be considering Onward, it would be nice to hear some specifics about the cabins and the condition of them since that seemed to be where all the complaints were on the first couple of cruises, as backed up by the reviews on CC. Saying, well my cruise was great! I appreciate that …..but How about answering some specifics? There are a lot of complaints in these reviews….are they resolved or not? I don’t know. I asked some very specific questions about CC suites earlier in this thread and have gotten no responses! I have gone to you tube and reviewed what I can but I am still left with questions. I wish people would give some specifics about the cabins…. Have the chairs on the verandas been changed? Were those temporary due to supply chain issues or permanent? Is there now a second chair in the CC suites or just the one big upholstered chair? is the furniture and the sinks still chipped or have repairs been made? Any other comments on cabins?
  5. You both are such great gentlemen……I feel like I already know you from your great live postings! Would love to meet you on a future cruise! We may have actually been with you on one before, because I may remember your faces and a kilt! Have you ever tried Azamara? We love both lines, but have been more recently staying with Azamara. Just curious if you have tried it and what your impression was…… Thanks for all the posts because we had to cancel 9-11 on Summit due to a medical issue. We would have been boarding tomorrow……..😢
  6. I think the best thing to do right now is skip the upgrade to the package and buy some wine in ports and pay corkage fees to enjoy good wines.
  7. Have a great day in Portland! So many fun restaurants and shops! Check out Luke’s Lobster….overlooks the harbor…..right on the water! Holy Donuts is very popular……donuts made from potatoes, just like my mother used to make. The blueberry one is pretty good…..or the maple one!
  8. I am reading the Celebrity boards and they have the same procurement problems with wines for their premium packages. People are getting just as annoyed that they can’t get the better wines. They are running out of some of the better ones. I would bet we would find the same problems across all cruise lines.
  9. I am glad this question was asked. So was the hard surface furniture…..cabinets, nightstands, countertops, sink replaced or still the old stuff? Is there one upholstered chair and a metal chair to sit in CC suites? How about the balcony furniture….one table and 2 chairs?
  10. You are killing me! That lobster looks so good! Very jealous!! By the way, several pages back when I described arrival into Portland, I forgot you are coming down from the north……so you would see Portland Headlight (famous lighthouse) when you leave Portland that evening. I think you depart at 8 pm? Should still be light out, I hope!
  11. I noticed that, too. Feel the same! Not very impressed and it pains me to say that.
  12. We have a cruise in May, 2023 that starts in Cape Liberty and stops in Martha’s Vineyard, Newport RI, Charleston and goes to BERMUDA on Day 6 of the cruise for 2 days and then back to Cape Liberty. Wonder if Bermuda will have loosened the requirements by then or else our itinerary will probably undergo a change, too.
  13. Yes, I would have bypassed the corn salsa and crepe, too! Just go for the lobster!
  14. Did you have the lobster for lunch at the Zenith luncheon? If so, how was it prepared?
  15. There was an early booking bonus on the web site for 2023 and 2024 sailings, but it expired 8/31. Are there any promos for booking 2024 now? Edited to add: oh wait! Just looked and the date to book by is 8/31/23, so the offer is still good!
  16. Azamara used to bring on wines from the countries you were visiting. In 2017 we had some wonderful wines when in New Zealand and Australian wines as we headed that way! I was so happy with the choices that were daily pours…..now not so much at all. And last Dec., we upgraded to the Ultimate Package wine and I wasn’t really impressed with those, either. If the next cruise was in Europe, I would pick up some of my own, but it’s the Caribbean. Maybe I might just look at the wine list and buy bottles from that, unless the wines improve.
  17. Best to put inside your luggage so they are not stolen. They work fine inside.
  18. There are some in the Reviews section of CC …..right at the top of the page. click on reviews and input Azamara Onward. There was extensive discussion on the Azamara forum when the maiden cruise happened. There were some areas that people reported there were some issues with the ship upon the first couple of cruises. There were supply chain issues that made some areas not up to par. For example: none of the hairdryers arrived in time for the maiden cruise. All passengers were notified ahead of time so they could bring their own blow dryers. Those issues are resolved now. We have an Onward cruise booked. Not really worried as the fabulous crew has resolved all the issues. I believe those passengers on the maiden cruise were given future cruise credits 100% of what they paid after they returned home.
  19. Maine has the BEST blueberries! They are small, but delicious! Be sure to have a blueberry dessert, like blueberry pie…..it’s blueberry season there in August! There should still be plenty. West side cafe makes a good blueberry pie! I second the shore path walk, to the left as you exit the tender pier, if you have any time left over…..beautiful seaside mansions and homes looking out to Frenchman’s Bay. Have fun in beautiful Bar Harbor….a place near and dear to my heart! If you are adventurous or just a glutton for punishment, try the lobster ice cream at the Chocolate Emporium.
  20. I hope that is the case and just not a cut-back…..regarding the small bottles of Liquor. I had not realized there were procurement problems so thanks for that clarification.
  21. Ugh! And what happens if the two occupants in the suite like different spirits? Could they have not sprung for two choices? And now a downgrade in champagne?!
