  1. As you don't have a letter from your doctor I would drop it for now. If you do get a letter from your doctor then the next time you call to book a seat mention that and perhaps they will waive the charge. I think it's too late now that you have paid and plus you don't have any letter from your doctor to substantiate your claim. Better luck next time.
  2. I would call the general number and ask if there is any way to get a seat closer to the front of the plane if a medical condition warrants it. Just a general question without getting into the specifics of having paid for an upgrade etc. It might not help you for this trip but for a future trip you might book. Ask if there is a medical desk for info on this type of issue.
  3. We used Tiles on our last trip for both the luggage and my mobility scooter. I was surprised that I had to pay extra to have some features. I forget what was involved but I did have to pay a fee and register them online and I chose to have them covered for about a month. I will have to do that again for the next trip. I thought you purchased Tiles and that was it but there is more involved.
  4. If I were you I would call United directly and ask them who to speak to. The letter just states why you need to sit closer to the front - i.e., a short post about your medical condition. In your case, I would guess because you need a wheelchair and can't walk too far. It could state the distance you are able to walk without aid etc.
  5. You could check the United airlines site to see if there is a number for accessible info. It might be the general reservation number. I contact Air Canada medical desk when I call for the seat assignment. They request a letter from doctor every year or two. My doctor obliges me and signs a letter that I type up.
  6. You should ask your airline if you have to pay extra to sit closer to the washrooms. If you have a letter from your doctor you may get a better seat closer to the front without having to pay extra. I got such a letter and get a seat closer to the front of the plane to make it easier.
  7. I am a little late answering ..... We have spent years in Puerto Vallarta (and other places in Mexico) over the past 40 years or so. We spend every winter there. I think we have spent about 5 years total there over all that time. Our second home - we love it.
  8. Can you send me an e-mail please at wendybob8 at gmail.com (your former neighbour) - I have a question to discuss with you. Thanks. Wendy
  9. Forgot to add that four years ago our status was Black (that was the old status and now changed to silver and diamond etc.) I also just noticed that under my name is has a date of 31-12-2023. I am guessing that is the expiry date. The cruise we are booking is November 2024 so I guess we won't have the Diamond status then and not get any perks for Diamond status?
  10. I did the above and got my status. We last took an MSC cruise in 2019 (we took 2 cruises with them over 4 years ago). It shows that I have 12,300 points and Diamond Status. It does not show any expiry date and says I have Diamond membership. I am hoping that is correct. I sent them an e-mail a few days ago and hope they reply with the answer.
  11. I was interested in latte or cappucino - thanks for the info.
  12. Not clear to me if it's included in the easy plus package or not? One reply here says No and the other says Yes. I wonder which is correct?
  13. Having the free laundry is great. They do a good job of the laundry and it's so nice to get the clothing back and clean and folded. Didn't have any problems ad the service was wonderful. Okay - thanks (I think)....
  14. Great pictures from the Tamarind dinner. We will be on the Oosterdam next month and I will definitely try this place. Looks really good. Thank you.
  15. I can sure relate to this..... (and I bet many others a well).
  16. You might enjoy Barrio Bistro in the Fluvial area - not too far from the port and a taxi would get you there for about 150 pesos (less than $12.00). Good food and usually good live music as well. It is an outdoors patio.
  17. Even a slow boat will get you back for Christmas. (We are spending the winter in Mexico and our flight to Puerto Vallarta is December 19th so we need to be back before then.)
  18. Enjoying your posts as usual. Especially like hearing about the meals and what you order etc. Thanks again for taking the time to do this.
  19. I will definitely look into that. Thanks. (We also splurged and booked a business class seat with Air Canada to return from Chile so I hope we don't have to change that.) Hope your fine print has you covered as you think. So much fine print to read through.
  20. Thank you for this information. We are flying to Fort Lauderdale the day the ship departs (Nov. 15th for the same cruise as you) so a flight 48 hours later would mean we would miss the ship. Keeping my fingers crossed that there is no strike and the flights are not affected.
  21. Nice to know that someone was found to help on the trip. Hope it all goes well and that you enjoy the cruise.
