  1. No need to worry about a Celebrity cruise. We sometimes book indoor cabins, sometimes balcony's, never a suite, and still do not feel a class system. If you pay for a suite, you get some extra spaces you can be in. If you don't you, you don't know what you are missing. If you pay for more stuff, you get more stuff. We do not, and love cruising Celebrity and RC as probably among their lowest paying cruisers. I may miss the availability of a lounge with great views that has been repurposed for other more money making reasons. But RC is doing it too, and it certainly is nothing to be worried about. And I do not think that the Silhouette is part of that right now.
  2. We were on the Infinity Greece cruise last year. We had a wonderful time, and I highly recommend it - but not as an example of cruising or Celebrity. The cruise is a destination cruise, not one in which you go on because you want to try out cruising. It was very pleasantly convenient for transportation and stress-free evening activities, breakfast, and dinner. We absolutely love cruises and love being on the ship and all that entails. As cruising goes, the Infinity is smaller, older, and has less variety in activities and food choices. We stayed in a indoor cabin. There was a lot I loved about the ship, and I would go on it for a destination cruise again very happily. But for trying Celebrity or cruising, I think you will need to pick a ship from one of the2 newer categories.
  3. Any ideas for a day pass with chairs, umbrellas and food? Preferably not jam packed.
  4. Another request for a beach recommendation. We are looking for a less than crammed beach where we can use chairs and a umbrella, with food and bathrooms. We would love a day pass all inclusive if possible.
  5. I think we will go there. Can you reserve beach chairs and umbrellas in advance? We usually don't get anywhere til 10 ish.
  6. Is it extremely crowded? Are there vendors of items constantly approaching people relaxing in chairs? It looks great in the pictures!
  7. Was there a constant stream of vendors selling their items constantly approaching people? We had that happen once and left because we could not read or just sit and relax without constant interruptions.
  8. We did a similar trip last year in the Infinity. It was one of our best trips. Every time I see pictures on my rotating picture thing on my desk, I see the Greece ones and think I want to go there again. Then I remember that place was in Greece. One in a lifetime trip for us. Enjoy!
  9. Agreed. This is not a good test for your satisfaction with RC. Changes over the years are probably My Time Dining, more specialty restaurants, a disappearance of the midnight buffet, and a more casual dress code- no need for formal wear, and star-bucks coffee available for a fee. What is special to this class of ship is the royal promenade of shops and bars, with music in some places some of the time there.
  10. Hi, What all inclusive day passes in Puerto Plata, St. Phillipsburg, and Charlotte Amalie with reserved umbrellas do you know about? While we would prefer that food is included, the most important thing is that we can reserve the chairs with umbrella/tiki roof. Also, no beach vendors approaching people as they relax. Most of what I am finding is first come first serve. We like the Nochi Cocum experience in Cozumel, if you know it. Private beach, a set of chairs and an little roof or umbrella over them with your name on it, food and drinks served at the beach lounge chairs. Cost is about 100 pp. Thanks for any recommendations!
  11. I have to defend the poster here. The wording of the package has been the same over years, and the lunches anytime a restaurant was open was always included once on the ships. They must have just started enforcing that.
  12. It is true. The whole post that the quote came from provides context.
  13. Is true. We took the Oia on your own excursion, that went to a different port , and informed the bus driver that we would not be getting on the bus. The sailing excursion company that sent us a taxi to pick us up at that little port was Vista Yachting. There was a restaurant with outdoor seating to sit at and have coffee or breakfast .
  14. I email specialneeds at least a few weeks b4 the cruise and tell them that we need the mattress topper because we both suffer back pain. I also add that I understand that they may not use mattress toppers any more, and an extra comforter under the sheets will be fine. When I get on the ship, I check with the cabin attendant and insist if necessary. I have only had to insist once, on the Wonder last month.
  15. On Wonder, that location is now a suite and pinnacle neighborhood or lounge .Very Disappointing.
  16. That was my go-to place on the ship. I miss it. Why take away one of the only places that you can quietly watch the sea in all weather on a cruise ship? Isn't the sea a main draw for others too? Iwas wondering if the pod area in the aquadome has enough seating to replace it. I guess you just answered my question- not a replacement.
  17. We were on the Wonder a couple of weeks ago, and it was cancelled at least 3 times, maybe more. Perhaps the shortened version is to avoid complete cancellation. We did not end up seeing it.
  18. Wonder Jan 7th 11:30 -1 lunch. 12 time slot for boarding but got on at 11.
  19. I stopped booking too. Nothing booked, would usually have two .
  20. The ship products are between bad and awful. Bring your own, at least for washing hands. If you use ship shampoo/conditioner combo, bring a leave in conditioner.
  21. I would not go when school is out. We have always gone when school is on session with no issues. This last one 2 weeks ago school calendars were odd and school was out. The ship was noisy crowded and loaded with kids. I would not choose to do that again.
  22. We are identical in our favorites. We loved the shows on the Wonder a couple of weeks ago and thought the headliners, and including the juggler.
  23. Beach Club is paid but was quiet. We were on the Wonder and Independence was also there.
  24. Hi. Most have multiple viewings and thing changed even from when I could reserve and whne I got on the ship. 8:30 -8:45 dinner times allowed me to see everything. 5-5:30s probably would too.
