  1. Exactly - just show up at the time that works for you. Know you may have to wait a bit a peak times but that could also just mean another glass of wine before dinner 😉 Go to specialty dining as soon as you board. They will be near the specialty restaurants. They may be able to get you some times. I’ve not seen pagers at those restaurants.
  2. Let me try to help. Acronyms can be so confusing but I think I have this one. TD - traditional dining so early or late SD - select dining; also known as select dining anytime. CP - cruise planner SD podium - dining check in podium for MDR. Confusing because although celebrity calls each Select Dining - Early, Late or Anytime, a lot will refer to Select Dining for anytime dining. As you will have seen in the comments, even with early dining you would have been able to go to the other MDRs with just a word to the maître’d. But now that you have changed with multiple travel agents, I would just stick with anytime. Chances are you are too late to get reservations now at the high peak times (7:00 - 7:30). We booked ours in March for our January cruise. Rumour on these boards is that they hold 40% of the tables for reservations. But all you have to do is show up to the podium and ask to be seated. If they are busy you will get a pager to come back. They will also help out if another MDR is less busy. Hope this helps!

  10. Well I can say that the conversation on the Carnival FB page echoes this in some ways. They cut back their 24 hour ice cream to 13 hours and charging $5 for a third entree. Stated food wastage as the reason. Complete uproar. Who knew so many people ate ice cream for breakfast?!? I’m wondering how the new NCL Prima approach of one larger constant menu will play out.
  11. A quick question. I see that the 2024/2025 itineraries are out. What time does booking open on the designated day? Midnight, 9 am EST? I am looking for a particular sailing and cabin type so don’t want to be too far behind the 8 ball on this one. thanks in advance

  15. Interesting. You can still choose early, late or select when booking. When on the Edge last, you were assigned a restaurant and could change it to try the other restaurants through the maître d but it was still at the seating time you chose when booking. I could see totally open being a fiasco. Hence, also why I always make reservations. 😊
  16. Normally they stop seating for the concierge lunch at 1 PM. We normally swap out our sparkling wine for a bottle of red and have asked for fruit and cheese as opposed to canapés. Last cruise we just asked them not to bring them and brought nibbles down from the buffet if we wanted them.
  17. Getting caught up and looking forward to following along! I am like you - I have a spreadsheet with all of my trip details and confirmation numbers. I also keep a copy of my passport/license at home in our safe just in case so my daughter can get it to us if needed. I also have a few travel drawers in a spare bedroom. I can just open them up and pick what I need for the trip. Made it so much easier to grab the travel only supplies! Margaret
  18. There are so many factors that this line covers. For example - significant delay. This implies something more than a half hour or so. If the ship has to leave due to weather, or port requirements then they would leave. This then means that Celebrity will ensure you are returned to the ship at the next port, or ‘earliest opportunity’. They pay for your accommodations and travel arrangements to meet up with the ship again.

  20. Canadian Border Services actually gets the ship’s manifest that they cross-reference to the ArriveCAN app. They would know that you didn’t fill it in and let the ship know.
  21. The good thing is that all of your data should be stored in ArriveCAN so you just have to enter the trip data in and your vaccines etc. are there.
  22. Definitely a faithful servant. So gracious always. And while the world mourns my heart goes out to her family who must mourn on the public stage.
  23. It is totally confusing. I’m Canadian and believe me, we wish this would go away as well!
