  1. I had a recent positive experience on Discovery Princess booking the Crown Grill. I had Princess Plus with an added specialty dining cover promotion included. The App recognized it and allowed me to make my night of choice reservation and DID NOT require my credit card. I checked on reservation once on board, all was fine. BTW, I was told the Crown Grill was completely booked and when I was there it was half empty. I sensed they are limiting number of patrons due to staffing issues, maybe ???. Unless your specialty dining cover was a Princess promotion I think it requires a credit card by default from what I have been reading. If you have gifts or TA perks expect to have to use a credit card if pre-booking or wait until on board and book early.
  2. @travellingnana FYI, Medallion Net is the internet service that is provided when on board the ship if you pay for or have wi-fi included. Medallionclass is the name of the App we all love so much, LOL. As mentioned above to get to an ocean navigator person to help with the MedallionClass App you go through the main Princess number and there is an option. Beware, it seems that Princess hired an off shore company to take these calls. I have a very hard time with them because of the loud background noise and very poor phone connection. I am not sure what happened to the original ocean navigator people that I believe were here in the US. I hope they didn't lose their jobs.
  3. That was my initial thought too. but on chat they said there is no word on Sapphire cancellations. Also, the other Sapphire sailings before and after the date I was looking at are available for booking. Time will tell.
  4. I was having the same issue. I got on chat with Princess and I was told that sailing is sold out. I discovered how I access the sailing makes a difference. If I go to it from my saved cruises I see "Currently Unavailable", If I go sort of back door by accessing a different date for the same itinerary/same ship and use the drop down where you can pick a date and change to the date I am looking at, it comes up all cabin categories are SOLD OUT. As someone said above, this can change and cabins may again become available.
  5. I'll go with this. That is the Princess way. LOL
  6. This service is courtesy of the Port Of Seattle, not Princess provided and is called Port Valet I used it, but I had signed up in advance based on postings here. Good thing I did or I would never have known about it on the ship. Nothing on the ship but the regular disembarkation paper. Maybe it was on the wake show, but I actually never turned it on this cruise. Port Valet could not have been better. I was also on the same cruise and enjoyed it. I was lucky and had a great day from Skagway going into the Yukon, including Emerald Lake. Sorry you missed it.
  7. Do you know if this is something Princess will verify for everyone or does it happen once in Canada by Canadian authorities? YES, everyone must complete Arrive Can if getting off the or NOT. A little clarification on this ... Waiting on the 96hr pre-cruise time to complete the app. I was on phone with ArriveCan yesterday, ArrivaCAN can not be completes prior to 72 hours before embarkation time. I also found this via Google. When can you fill out ArriveCan when embarking on a cruise from Seattle Within 72 hours You can only start your ArriveCAN form within 72 hours of your upcoming cruise embarks, so be sure you add this to your pre-cruise planning list. You will not have access to the form if your cruise is outside of 72 hours.
  8. This is the Princess standard for cruises departing/debarking New York. This is nothing new, has been this way for years. The best thing to do is what has been suggested above and get clarification from the various port websites. Kind of a rule of thumb... embarking/debarking cruises would most likely be Brooklyn/Red Hook, day visit possibly Manhattan.
  9. I did send another request from another email address and .... I got an immediate automated response. Maybe it is something very very new?
  10. I submitted my request by email last Friday evening. There was no automated response and it has not yet been posted. Maybe an automated response it is just a random thing. I had heard it can take months to see it posted, so I made my submission in plenty of time. Hmmmmm, last time I was on HAL the email with my request was rejected due to my ,rr email address without any notification. I did call HAL World Cruise Dept that handles these requests prior to the cruise to check on it and the agent took care of me. To be sure I think I will send my request again from a different email address to Princess in case that is an issue again.
  11. @JimmyVWine I should have said it was NOT a Princess cruise. It was NCL on a week during Canadian Spring Break. And YES, there really were over 500 kids. That number came from a crew member. Princess is fine for me and I hope they keep the familiar atmosphere/ambience we are used to.
  12. Have you ever been on a ship that was taken over by more than 500 kids running amuck? I have, and it is NOT FUN! You will not be able to use any ship amenities like pool, hot tubs, etc. It is no longer your cruise. NEVER AGAIN! I do love kids, but just prefer not to vacation with them
  13. AFIK The only Royal class ship that has an enclosed pool is the Majestic Princess. It is called Hollywood Conservatory I am sure someone will correct me if that is not true.
  14. Do you really think Princess would do something that sensible? LOL I read on another thread that we may not know until were are already on board.
  15. Right, It is still Crown. It looks like the swap is for Alaska season only. If anything, they should put Crown on west coast cruises only. It seems Princess has a history of continuing to sail with similar issues, An Australian based ship, Dawn? and Caribbean Princess comes to mind. If they were to swap, I would still be going
  16. I am referring to what I read in another post on this Princess forum. It said Crown Princess reservation was changed to the Royal Princess for June 2023. Re-deployment can be and has been done in many instances. I am just in awe that they are planning to send Crown into the vast Pacific ocean for this very long itinerary. It seems they have put Royal on Seattle rt for the season.
  17. I am currently looking for a replacement cruise for this fall to replace my Crown booking for the 28 day LA-Hawaii-Tahiti-Samoa-LA. It makes me angry that Princess has already switched the Crown in 2023, but not for 2022. They just plan to leave us in this situation. I still do not understand how or why they are continuing with the Crown in such bad shape. Very sad. I have visions (OK, a fear) of being stranded somewhere in the vast Pacific ocean. At this point I can't see myself setting foot on her.
  18. Just a guess here. You are probably being recognized as a new customer. Princess will likely assign you a representative called a CVP, but you are not obligated to book through them. You can book yourself on the website or your TA or even transfer a booking you made to your TA. If you see a button that says register or create account, try going there first and establish an account. Then search for your cruise. I hope this helps, good luck.
  19. Hmmmmm, that makes some sense. A sale and $1.00 deposits is coming later this week. So, of course they need to raise the prices for that event.
  20. It should be offered if it works time wise with your specific tour and there could be a limited number of spaces available as well. If Princess says yes you can upgrade. DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!
  21. Thank you for sharing. I will be trying PV for the first time in August off of Discovery also.
