Travel SIM card - anyone used this one?
Adventures ahead replied to Kate-in-Canada's topic in Canadian Cruisers
For a short cruise in another country, we don't buy a SIM card. We set up 'Roam Like Home' with Bell. It can be activated for any/multiple 24-hr period/s if you need to access your own data package. -
I don't see the advantage either. We plan to buy the soda/mocktail package for DH and coffee package separately. The coffee package is shareable and more than enough for the two of us for a 7-day cruise. Unlike the alcoholic package where two guests must purchase it, it appears that only one (non-shareable) soda package may be purchased per cabin.

Princess.com "Your Account Is Missing Some Information"

If you go to a different device you may find the birthdate is correct. Happened to me so I ignored the login on my iMac with the incorrect birthdate. On the iPhone, no issue and none since. -

Thanks very much!

Thanks, Hank. You've provided some great tips! Normally, we'd be all over public transportation when cruising. With covid still hanging about (and fewer people wearing masks), and my husband immunocompromised, I'm a bit hesitant. He's braver than I am! Regardless, the cruise itself is a GO! He's having a 5th covid shot next week so maybe we'll get a bit braver in a few weeks. We're making a run for whatever he feels up to! Life is good.

We had the pleasure of touring around the island on a previous cruise and did an excellent walking tour with Annette Henry (booked in advance). Looking forward to returning! Can we get a taxi from the port to the Underground Hospital or German Occupation Museums? Would the taxi wait or could they call for a return taxi? Cash or credit card for a taxi? Approx cost? If only wanting to visit one, and spend the rest of our time in St. Peter Port, would you recommend one over the other?

We're in port Wed Aug 10, 8am-5pm, Enchanted Princess. For the same reasons as stated in my Bilbao post, can someone provide logistics/insight for a low key half-day visit from La Caruna port? Taxis needed? Available at the pier? Credit card or cash? What area should we explore, ask to be dropped off to/collected from?

Always enjoy reading your posts. Not having had the means for extensive land travel, we were those cruise people and loved it. We’ve been fortunate to cruise a fair fit in Europe and covered a lot of ground. We joked that we could rest at home for free. Not our MO this time. (Also used to winter in PV.) I’m mainly interested in the logistics/lay of the land, to achieve that laid back day. (Also for our other ports in Spain… La Caruna and Bilbao… yes, I realize, wrong board. : ) Are we docked within a short walking distance to the Old Town? Would we need a taxi to drop us off to a central location? Where might that be?

Thanks, this is helpful. -
We're in port Tues Aug 9, 7am-4pm, Enchanted Princess. Normally, we'd be gone all day on independent tours and walk... a lot! Due to chronic fatigue, unlikely for DH. However, we definitely want to go ashore! If not taking an excursion on a crowded bus or public transportation, and DH not up for lengthly, quick-paced walking tours, what can we do in Bilbao (other than the Guggenheim) for a half day? Exclusive private tours $$$ or renting a car are out. Taxis available at the pier? Pay with credit card? Where should we go? Encouraging suggestions welcome!

We're in port on Mon Aug 8, 7am-6pm, Enchanted Princess. Normally, we'd book private tours, be gone all day and walk, walk, walk! Due to chronic fatigue, DH now unable to do that. Just grateful to be cruising! However, I can't see us simply staying on the ship. If not taking an excursion (not keen on a crowded bus or public transportation) and DH not up for lengthly, quick-paced walking tours, what can we do in La Rochelle for a half day? A bespoke, private tour may bust the budget! He'd probably be interested in Le Bunker (museum). Distance? Taxis available at the pier? Pay with credit card? Suggestions welcome!

Do the tubs in mini-suites have a retractable clothesline?

As I mentioned elsewhere, when I called Princess last month, they said they were booking at 75% capacity from Southampton. Of course, policies can change.

We've been on several RCI, one Carnival, one HAL and a Scenic river cruise. Sticking with Princess even though Elite perks are missing. Due to losses over the pandemic, we're not surprised that changes needed to be made. We buy Standard fare so the perks are still good for us, and now excursions (a new perk if we chose to book through Princess) are 10% off. After only one HAL (obviously nothing to do with loyalty perks), we said if we lived to be 100 we'd never be "old enough" to go on another!
