  1. Which is why I’ve been wondering if the MoveUp from Aqua Class to the Retreat on an unrefurbished ship is worth it. Would it just be a slightly larger room, complete with a bath, and access to Michael’s Club that would be the only differences? (Not counting Luminae as a difference because of already getting access to Blu.)
  2. The prices were reduced over here for the current winter season redeployment of Infinty. I’m not referring to those already booked on the Egypt & Israel cruises, I think on my sailing they were offered OBC, but the prices for the new itineraries were heavily discounted. The insides started at approx £440pp and balconies were £699 for the 10 night sailings.
  3. So can you get the CC discount on the non-alcoholic package too? Asking as there never appears to be more than 10% in the sale price online and the CC discount would be more for Elite and above.
  4. Ours was not honoured last year on the Plus package as it was the ‘old’ one apparently. If we wanted the room service activation on the medallion, we needed to pay an up-charge fee and you were not grandfathered in. Many unhappy pax complained to GS after boarding as they were not informed before the sailing. Basically, all the cruise lines are doing the same.
  5. They did this year when the itineraries were changed, but that was at a far later date to fill the ship. Perhaps that’s why X has decided to do it earlier this year: keep the prices higher rather than having to discount so heavily at a later date? We shall see. From a personal point of view, it would be nice for the prices to be comparable with the Caribbean pricing as it is Greece in closed season.
  6. Would appreciate you posting how it goes after your cruise as we were considering doing something similar. TIA.
  7. We stayed in the Sanur beach area and thought it was good; we were able to tour the island from there.
  8. We’re doing thar one but in reverse! Looks like an exciting mix of places to visit with some overnights on our itinerary. You would be able to stay a few nights in Singapore after too, and you could always hop on over to Bali from there if you so wished (we tend to do it on the way to Australia).
  9. We’ve been to all of those places - Hawaii island-hopping not on a cruise - and would agree they are all fabulous places to explore. Perhaps where you live also factors in as I have never been anywhere so similar to the U.K. than NZ, so perhaps wouldn’t put it in the top 5 like yourself. We do love Norway and Alaska, and would probably put them above NZ. The east coast of the US and Canada are also fabulous to visit. We’re off to Japan later this year and Singapore to India next. So what I’m trying to say is that personal experience and where you reside can influence what one finds more enjoyable. Perhaps the OP will love Bali, been there too 😁, because it’s so different from their previous experiences and so that itinerary is more their ‘cup of tea’ as a taste of Asia. All that being said, our HK to Singapore Christmas cruise a few years ago is up with the best 😉. Hoping we feel the same about Japan 👍.
  10. Which sailing? Perhaps you could come back and post once you have sailed? We’re on her in March and it sounds like half of the U.K. will be on her over the next few months with all the reduced fares 🤣.
  11. I think that’s usually equivalent to our late Spring Bank Holiday here: May 27th this year. Please do say if I’m wrong though 😉.
  12. Which date are you on Millie in August? We’re hoping that our 11.45 flight is doable from HND, but we have booked a private transfer from the port.
  13. Have you checked different dates? Only asking as we were considering a couple of sailings in different months and one had direct flights and the other didn’t.
  14. 15th March. Are you on the same sailing?
  15. Oh that it a shame, but I’m sure you’ll still have a great cruise. I’m of the standing now that ‘you win some, you lose some’ - it probably all evens out over time (not nice when it happens though). We managed to get the flight offer with ours and booked it together with our friends as our TA was concerned the flight allocation may not be available for both reservations if she did it separately. Thank goodness she did because within a couple of days there were no ‘package’ flights available for our date and airport. I always book my own flights so this is going to be an eye opener for us too, seeing how X handle it 🫣.
  16. I think there will be a mass exodus from the U.K. over the next few months to the Greek Isles on Infinity 😁 - the prices were too good to miss 😉.
  17. It’s a TA, so perhaps needs comparing to an RCL TA. Still a good price though 👍. The Greek Islands itineraries for the next few months on Infinity were also heavily discounted because of the redeployment from Israel, and those don’t have the continuous sea days like you get on a TA.
  18. I was just about to say the same thing as we’re on the sailing following Germancruiser 😁.
  19. As Georgiaguy stated, it depends on numbers. We’ve been on sailings when several age groups have been put together because there weren’t that many kids on the particular itinerary.
  20. Agree with all the above comments: option 2. Silhouette is a lovely ship and Istanbul is great to explore. Do a Med cruise another time and visit more of Italy, Malta and Spain on that itinerary.
  21. It has been years since we sailed together. Our boys are men now: oldest doing his PhD at Oxford and the youngest in his last year of his Master’s. Time sure does fly by quickly. Hope you are doing well too. Silhouette is a beautiful ship; glad you are enjoying her. We’re on Infinity in March and we were hoping for some upgrading before we boarded. Never mind, I’m sure we’ll still have a great time 👍. We’re on Millie in August to Japan, so the Infinity sailing is for a little extra R&R time 😉. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  22. I was hoping they’d changed their minds and were doing some sort of uplift 😔.
  23. We did Hawaii for our honeymoon, many moons ago 😂, and really enjoyed it. It wasn’t on a cruise, but island hopping to several of the islands. I have also been watching the same TV programme, just a pity it’s now Susan doing the presenting a not Jane - each to their own, but she’s definitely not our favourite. However, the itinerary to French Polynesia looks fabulous. It may be worth considering that NCL offering if it’s more about the itinerary than ship.
  24. They did the same last year: changed included amenities to additional costs and did not notify us until we had boarded. We had paid for a package, but they didn’t grandfather in those who had already paid - asked for more if we wanted certain items which were included when we had fully paid for our cruise three months prior. I was more annoyed that they did not inform any pax with imminent sailings until we were actually on the ship. Very poor customer service. I didn’t want the special ice cream desserts in the new package, just the amenities which were included when we booked and paid for our cruise. So, in conclusion, they are all at it.
