  1. If not wishing to pay a $5 ew shared cab fee and rent beds, then do it for free. Walk 35/40 minutes there, don’t rent beds, use “Towels” and bring food/drink browsed from ship’s buffet, all wrapped in a napkin. Walk back. Many do this.
  2. As previously warned, the track will narrow in places (Lifeboat areas) causing walkers to perambulate in single file. Joggers will have to devise polite overtaking techniques to bypass a line of multiple single file strollers, not forgetting those with limited mobility out taking the sea air.
  3. Then try…. https://www.petestaxiandrentals.com and https://www.barrytaxi.com
  4. As suggested by @TTEllis , here is the best operator on the island. He will take care of everything, from the tour to a timed collection. Lawrence will be happy to discuss ensuring one has a great day, getting the best possible experience of this beautiful island. Enjoy - Thank you Todd.
  5. Best recommendations COCO on Orient Beach (the have a kid’s menu), gentle waves for swimming. Or slightly better for younger ones, consider the short ferry ride from Orient Beach to Pinel Island for a swim/snorkel in the protected Marine Park. Make a one’s “base” on Pinel at either Karibuni or Yellow Beach on Pinel Good Snorkelling along a designated, also safe, reef area for gentle waves snorkelling, ideal for little ones to swim or snorkel with adults. For any adults being a much stronger swimmers then head for bigger rocks/waves with more fish round the headland to the north. COCO - https://www.cocobeach.restaurant/gallery Ferry: https://www.caribbeanpaddling.com/blog/ferry-schedule-to-pinel-island Karibuni: https://www.lekaribuni.com/restaurant Yellow: https://www.yellowbeach.restaurant As all three beach stays are popular with residents, stayers and cruisers, therefore space is limited. Best to book well in advance. enjoy….
  6. Best recommendations. Select from these three. Silver Moon - https://silvermoonbarbados.com Elegance - https://www.elegancebarbados.com Calypso - https://calypsocruisesbarbados.com Check operators start times with one’s ship docking times Enjoy Book early as space is limited and very popular with island vacationers.
  7. Take a cab and do a short tour to one’s requirements. Then get dropped off at Catherine’s for a lunch, drinks, beds, beach, sea, boutique shop etc.. When ready to return, Catherine’s will call one a cab.
  8. If seeking a higher end dining, then consider taking a Britannia Stateroom (3 berth) and dine in Verandah or Lido Alternative every night.
  9. Think it was about US $40 each way plus tip ($50 total) Same driver out was booked for the timed return. Driver for return arrived early, which was appreciated.
  10. Very easy, just take a cab….About 50 minutes each way, but allow an additional 10 minutes for the return, because of heavier traffic. Gratuities to the Tour Guide will be appreciated and welcomed
  11. Sorry to interrupt The entrance fee includes a cave tour guide. Also consider a nice lunch while there.
  12. Slightly off piste…. If seeking something different to a beach or Rocks day, then consider an adrenaline day… https://adventureantigua.com/activities/the-xtreme-circumnav/
  13. Chairs etc are for use only by the paying clients. Drop offs are caused tidal and storm action. Easy access one day, steep the next. It is not a rock up and bed rental establishment. Book one’s lunch/day in advance. Early booking is recommended for Cecelia’s, Catherine's and Sheer Rocks. Consider a Rock Pool Day at Sheer Rocks for that special day.
  14. Seem to remember there were larger minivan taxis (think 10 pax or more per van) from the official rank. Unfortunately, do not know the price. But the despatcher at the rank will price for the whole van.
  15. Good choice…..No problems for either direction
  16. Sounds like an excellent plan…. Plenty of licensed taxis at the official rank. Hotels only allow registered taxis on their premises. Plenty available for the trip back to the ship.
  17. Very Large CVS close to OSJ Port… About a 3 minute walk from the port… Exit Port - Turn Left - Walk 3 minutes - Look to one’s right - CVS is on the other side of the road.
  18. Any cab from the cruise terminal rank…. About $40 (US) each way plus tip. Enjoy the floating inflatables amusement park, together with the views of same and noise
  19. Apologies. The New York Cunard Hotel from web https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/the-cunard-experience/cruise-and-stay/hotels If wishing to stay there, if not already a member, best to sign up for Hilton Membership, as there are discounts and concessions available for members.
  20. A previous post, which hopefully will enable one to come to an informed decision to avoid booking Cunard Hotels. Although it was for a Singapore Hotel, it can translate to New York. In no doubt CC people will be their preferences for New York at all price points and better locations. Quote start “From experience at the Fairmont being a Cunard offered Hotel Cunard makes contracted price deals with Hotels for “freedom of Hotel” aka Junk Rooms. This means your room is only booked 6/8 weeks prior to flight and the hotel will select the room. Rooms confirmed at check in and will probably be worst lowest floor, with no decent view (over the entrance and view of concrete and traffic). Any disputes, the Hotel will refer one back to Cunard, as Cunard made the booking. Cunard charge a Rack Rate per person, but the Hotel charges per room. We had a Fairmont Gold Room bay view (with many benefits) for a few pounds more than Cunard quoted for a “Standard Room” aka Junk. Remember, Cunard charge per person, for two pax the single rate is doubled to equate to a “Room Price” Also, a private car booked via Fairmont from Airport, then to Cruise, was only a little more than a multi-stop with diversions, Cunard 60 seater coach tour. Sign up for Fairmont Membership prior to booking direct, as there may be an upgrade offered on a first visit.. There are NO upgrades allowed, even if payment offered at check in, for Cunard JunkRooms.” Quote ends
  21. There is an official tourist centre booth and taxi captain stall with fares openly published inside the cruise terminal. The terminal is covered and includes many shops, market stalls, outlets, etc plus Duty Free.
  22. Taxi Fares ……https://www.antiguanice.com/v2/documents/Taxi and tour fares - ABTB final.pdf Outward driver will be pleased to be booked for the timed return.
  23. @fox02554 There are 3 great operators. Check one’s docking times with an operator’s leaving time to suit Silver Moon - https://silvermoonbarbados.com Elegance - https://www.elegancebarbados.com Calypso - https://calypsocruisesbarbados.com
