Anyone booking any of the Queen Anne sailings today ?
PORT ROYAL replied to Host Hattie's topic in Cunard Line
Friends just booked H405 Club, kindly invited us to join, politely declined. On QM in Club to Caribbean in November 2023 Said Club was selling fast, so suggest CC members book asap. PS There are thoughts that freestyle for second sitting will end, so Club would be ideal for those wishing to dine freestyle. -
A little more specific, with quotes from one and others… It’s a personal choice, for us (now always) Club is worth the small additional, as it’s not much more than a B grade balcony. Service in Britannia Club is exceptional and one has the same a table (monopoly) with only one sitting (freedom style-take as long as one wishes) for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Expanded menus (flambé), a proper cheese trolley (served) not pre plated. And so on…. +++ These are the same reasons we only book Club all the time since being on the QM2. The Dining Room same table and timing was the key factor on our decision. The Extended Menu which is Pre Grill Experience gives us the taste of the next Classes. Not to mention the Flambes and dishes prepared at the table by an Excellent Maitre de. +++ The service, as others have mentioned, is impeccable and we never struggled to choose. The extra a la carte options helped with this. The flambé is particularly special. +++ We agree it's worth it with a possibility of a Upgrade if possible.

To assist, here is a previous thread on the joys of Club..

Not a Solo voyager, but if requiring a dedicated “Single” stateroom, one piece of advice will be to book early on the day of release. However, a double/twin for single use is still a nice stateroom. Enjoy your Voyage….

A transfer has to go through a long drawn out Cunard Protocol. The booking associate must pass your new booking and the old one to Cunard Accounts. Cunard accounts (Sloth) will send you a strange email with an erroneous attachment, being your cancellation confirmation, ignore, followed by the new booking confirmation. Allow up to three days for the whole process. Check the new booking thoroughly as it may contain error/s.

Car service, no aggravation no angst, arrive at Hotel stress free. Understand Smith’s are no longer trading, so consider Majestic, they can also extend the journey with a short tour of one’s choice.

Social media discovered/destroyed Carambola. Herds arrived, discerning locals and genteel cruisers abandoned it as a drinks/lunch/day meet-up destination. Takings fell, and it resorted day passes without beds for Towels. Happily, Sunshines and Marriott are still unaffected by T’erds and Morse ensures Towels are verbally driven away (some distance) to ensure his paying guests views are not spoiled.

As an aside. DW had an idea. The main thoroughfare (bow/stern) below decks I know as the I95. From Britannia entrance the BC there two walkways which individually can also be an “Avenue”. Therefore, these are now named “42nd Street”. Sashaying, step-ball-change and double taps can now be considered de rigueur. With the D stairway route entrance named “Broadway”

With regard to “Grills MD”, they do rotate. There are no intrusion worries as they appear at our table to pay respects to ensure all is well and if they can assist with anything. Then there is always the morning coffee get togethers. One thought….. Would a Grills MD, walking through the Britannia after first addressing the Britannia MD, be considered a bad form intruder?

No beach? Consider a tour to Shirley Heights, then Nelsons Dockyard, followed by a lunch, cocktails and relaxing lounger at Sheer Rocks, before taxi back to ship.
-
Consider trying ‘Login’ before search, as this may possibly assist with booking date and Club discount etc.

We (group of 15) took a private catamaran sail for the day to Anguilla and there was no problem with timings. So this would suggest a bulk pax sail would be the same.

Consider https://cocinaabierta.net Also have an excellent pairing menus A Pica pre dinner cocktail will wake/set one’s tastebuds up nicely. Save Marmalade for one’s next visit

El Morro will be an adventure, but on the fields outside is the place to fly a kite, kites of all types are available in town and adjacent to the fields.

Note. On your return to the ship, don’t exit the beach via Buccaneer Bar as it’s on a quiet side road with hardly any passing taxis. Opposite the sea is a long building and exit the beach to the far left of this building. This way out will take you directly onto Welfare Road being the main artery back to the ship (Tavel in the direction to your right). Plenty of taxis will pass, allow 30/45 minutes to return as port direction traffic will be very busy and slow.
