Does the specialty dining perk for the first night have to be reserved before the cruise or can you just wait until boarding?

I just got off the Viking Neptune the other day and had a wonderful time. I did not know Viking ships have webcams. I looked on their website but could not find a link. Could someone post the web address for the webcams. thanks

For those of you who can see their status and points on the website, have you kept the same loyalty number? I can see our future cruises, but they have assigned both my wife and me new numbers with zero points. For some reason I am at the adventurer level and my wife is at the preview level when we both should be discoverer plus.

Thanks for your answers. I have been able to get lower rates when the price of cabins went down on other lines, but that was always before the final payment. I really was not too surprised that they would not offer a refund or onboard credit, but I was surprised when they would not even let me pay more to upgrade the room. Well, they would have let me upgrade and pay more, but I would have had to pay the difference between what I paid and the price of the higher category when I originally booked, not what they are charging now for new reservations. in any event, it is what it is. I just hope the onboard experience is as good as I have heard it is.

I am somewhat dismayed with Viking and my first cruise with them is still two months away. I booked and paid in full under a recent promo that offered free air. The other day I received an email from them with a new promo that reduced the cost of the rooms and offered free air as well. I asked my travel agent if Viking would offer me that same new rate either as a refund or an onboard credit and their answer was that the promo was only for new reservations. I then asked if I could upgrade to a higher category room by paying the difference between the new rate and the rate I paid for a lower category. Again, the answer was no. Cancelling and rebooking was my only alternative, but that was certainly not an attractive option financially. Can those of you who are frequent Viking customers comment if this is in fact their policy regarding promos.

Last year when we took a river cruise from Amsterdam, we took the train from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station and also stayed at the Doubletree. We are both over 70, and it was a very easy walk from the station to the hotel with our rolling luggage. Exit the station and turn left. You will see the hotel right in front of you on the next block.

We were on the Onward in February and Raymon and Aga were the bartenders in the Atlas Bar. If they are still there, you will have a great cruise. Also, ask them if they are going to do their show on the last night.

For those of you who can view your loyalty level and points, does it automatically show or do you have to click on some area of the website? I can sign in and view my upcoming cruises, but there does not seem to be any way to see my loyalty level. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My wife can still not sign in, but I can. When I sign in, I can see the two cruises we have booked, but my points and loyalty level are nowhere to be found.

We boarded the Onward on February 12 in Lima and went on the same excursion on Monday, February 13. The historical district had many barricades and a lot of police were manning the barricades, but we encountered no problems. I believe that there were several other excursions that morning too.

Occasionally heard chairs being moved on the pool deck, but it was infrequent and not a problem. Room type - Club Continent We were assigned this room on an upgrade bid. The room was in great shape except for a large crack on the top of the counter. It was visible primarily because the counter is white. The only reason I would not book the room again is because of the bathtub.

My wife and I are currently on the Onward voyage from Lima, Peru to Miami that began on February 12. I have to say that the internet speed is the best I have encountered on any prior cruise with any cruise line.

Several days ago I had to call about a payment issue and the system indicated my wait time would be 8 minutes. The wait time ended up being 50 minutes.

We boarded the Avalon Panorama in Amsterdam yesterday for a cruise to Basel that is to end on August 13. Our original ship was to have been the Avalon Vista but we were informed last week of the ship change. Last night on the ship we were advised that the ship could not make it to Basel and that we would switch to the Avalon Vista on Wednesday. The plan is to go to Cologne tomorrow and to Koblenz on Wednesday. On Wednesday, we are to sail on a local boat in the Rhine Gorge to Kaub and then return to the ship in Koblenz for the night. On Wednesday we will disembark the Panorama and go to Heidelberg for tours. Then we will bus to Kehl and embark on the Avalon Vista. The people on the Vista will take our places on the Panorama. The cruise has been great so far. I just hope that things will go as planned.
