  1. Aha... so that's where they store all the Kelly Hoppen stuff that folks ask to be removed from their staterooms...like faux bleached coral and vases that do not hold water. All very dull and drab. We would fill that with a nice floral and a few colorful items
  2. On our last infinity cruise...obviously pre Covid, we had an AQ Cabin. The ac system in the cabin and along our hallway was not working for a goid portion of the cruise, Repair person came promptly (and often) but it was never really fixed. He was taking used parts from elsewhere.??? Older ship..old systems. ( we also sailed on her shortly before that and had no issues..hit or miss, luck of the draw!) On the dysfunctional a/c sailing , we had mildew in our bthrm ( aggravated by lack of a/c), but thankfully our toilet flushed okay and the shower did not back up...others on our deck were not that lucky.,,hallway fans were run non stop to dry carpets. Hope your AC improves but this ship needs systemic updates beyond cosmetic refresh... hope you can enjoy your cruise..
  3. Thanks for the informatibe review and photos. We did a similar itin yrs ago. Loved stopping at Nice..hope you you back there some day. Glad you enjoyed the spa..it was awesome on EDGE. Much better than Canyon Ranch! Our upcoming BEYOND cruise in Nov is a short one, but we will probably skip a port..will look for a facial with "port pricing". BTW...If they still use the Elemis brand you can get that online..usually with a discount and free shipping. Enjoy!
  4. Gorgeous gown so perfect for cruising. You must have a fabulous " cruise closet". Ours has dwindled .. we now have a huge snowbird closet..some overlaps but fewer dress up outfits. Was nice to see the female officers....the ones on Edge were awesome. Girl Power! Glad you enoyed your cruise!
  5. Thanks for posting. Easy to spot one's stateroom..but ours is on the other side of the view!
  6. Not cruising solo but will def join in for a Gatsby Party.. have you joined the roll call?
  7. Loss to Celebrity, if any, not the same as a cruiser's payment. Hoping things work out for OP...
  8. HARSH! Exceptions are made all the time for human errors..we are all fallible. I see.no harm allowing an extended cruise date..esp if price is adjusted at going rates. I do not think anyone suggested breaking any laws..just setting a new cruise date.
  9. excellent reminder was posted( see below)...hope it serves as a warning to keep current & maybe X going up the chain of command can move cruise date or give a fcc??? we are always checking our passport exp date and requirements for sailing and ports..takes much longer to get things these days..the Covid excuse! " d 18 hours ago 19 hours ago, cangelmd said: It sounds like much of your problem is out of your control and you have my sympathy (and I’m going to rush and check my passport). Everyone should also remember that many destinations require your passport to have at least 6 months of validity left when you travel, so renewal should very early in the year that it expires. It might be helpful to add “passport issue”, or something similar to your thread title to help disseminate these valuable reminders! I hope you get this resolved and have a wonderful trip!"
  10. We've been to to a Gatsby wedding for a cousin. We live on Long Island, NY....site of the story. It was held in a north shore "Gatsby" style mansion on LI Sound. Great fun! Maybe we could do a Gatsby party on BEYOND...,not sure about the baby grand?? Easy to dress..black and white with the fancy headpiece or headband, bling etc for ladies. Men..also easy..hat, " gangster" couture,,dh loved doing it..but he is a very good sport. Circling Back to the pool safety/ supervision issue; from recent water safety posting...great advice. For some pool parties here for kids, a life guard is hired. Parents' watchful eyes are also needed. Even kids who had lessons can get tired! ". Supervise Adults should actively supervise children and stay within arm’s reach of young children and new swimmers. Kids should follow the rules. Designate someone to keep a close eye and constant attention on children and weaker swimmers in and around the water."
  11. As involved grandparents of 2 young boys, we are often appalled at some free range parents we observe on vacations.....ignoring the kiddos, face in their devices etc,, We now hesitate to correct other's children b/c of parental backlash. ... We are lucky that where we live most parents are "eyes on". Strict rule we had with kids and pools is that if your child is in the pool...you are too!. Still followed around here, only takes a few seconds of parental inattention for a child to go under... Hope your comments are a wake up call to some who need it!
  12. This photo would make a great print or online ad. I know it's not your line of work, but with this genuine smile and your great cruise wardrobe have you ever considered doing a portfolio for some modelling... what do yiu think??
  13. Great review and excellent photos Thanks for sharing. Hope you Stay healthy
  14. We always booked AQ class from time it was opened with BLU..We enjoyed the PG perk and definitely getting away from the crowd and din of the mdr. The lower salt, less gravy etc was appealing as well as the personalized svc. Lately BLU has large group banquet stye tables in 2 "seating times", which adds alot of noise and places greatet demand on staff.! Should not be allowed BLU varies by ship . We did not like the location and slow kitchen on EDGE..also had acoustics issues. Service staff was excellent. We did miss not getting Prime Rib in BLU on any ship so we always went to mdr thay night..no issues. Hope you can now get the Prime Rib in BLU. Next cruise we will be in Luminae but if that is crowded or noisy we will go elsewhere. So far, we really liked the 4 mdr plan on EDGE. with pre res made.
  15. Sorry OP had Covid issues. BUT singling out any state or groups of people by state for any reason is not nice. We live in NY..a previously locked down state (some of it was very arbitrary). We enjoyed being in Fla this winter able to enjoy fresh air outdoors and more freedom to decide how and where we'd be safe, thus protecting others in the process. We mask when appropriate...however being vaxed and masked and washing hands are not guarantees to avoid Covid. It is unfortunate some of us will catch Covid, but blaming others is not helpful! Cruising has its risks... Thanks to OP for a great review. Sounds like it was an enjoyable cruise....
  16. Glad you made it. I have to catch up.on this thread so many delays and cancellations lately...weather and lack of crews We are going to Fl a week ahead for our Nov cruise and will stay at our place on West Coast, drive across fl and stay pre cruise night in Port. Have to sort out testing.. Would def be easier to fly into port 2 days ahead but cant take the risk nowadays
  17. Just curious..What are the auto gratuities for suite guests compared to AQ class, concierge or a regular Veranda room? We would expect to receive better service in a suite..mainly for clean fresh towels, " alive" flowers, ice 2x day, upgraded rm svc menu and upgraded snacks/ fruit. We would tip extra, accordingly. Perhaps expecting too much??? Over the years, we have only had 1 or 2 inattentive or MIA attendants...and we do not cruise in suites....mostly AQ Class.
  18. That looks great to me! For us that could be dinner!
  19. Not the same for us...,but my memory fades as it was definitely a one and done for us. It was an early Ref cruise..total Miami DJ party vibe...not our style. I recall that the aft circular bar cut the back deck in the middle and was often populated by all day "stool sitters" .....not always a great vibe.,The bar location forced musicians into a corner spot so it was hard to hear the mellow music. The aft lounge style seating was also used more as "reclined lounging" than seating ....people laying all over each other and .more all day drinkers. Totally overcrowded. I also recall that the spa and Solarium were on different floors so it was not that convenient to enjoy both areas or use the lockers. Also recall that the upstairs nightclub was not where it usually was located, and was truncated instead of panoramic in order to make more suites... We felt crowded at the pool area and elsewhere, and BLU was not big enough for AQ class guests and suite guests..who were given priority on our cruise....perhaps pre Luminae???? There were some spots we liked on the main floors but think the sister ships were much nicer.. diff strikes for diff folks.
  20. We actually preferred the 4 mdr plan on EDGE, compared to BLU.... due to BLUs location, poor acoustics and slow kitchen issues. On our BEYOND cruise we will be assigned to Luminae but hope to visit other locations for Elite Coffee lite Breakfast, BLU breakfast and mdr for lunch. We also liked the extra charge lunch venue on EDGE ,.can't recall the name. It's a short cruise on BEYOND, but we hope to sample all we can . Thanks for reminder to book EDEN or other Specialty dining for a dinner.
  21. Of the current ships, we would prefer Equinox, Silhouette, and definitely EDGE in a Sunset Veranda with the 4 mdr plan. Looking forward to BEYOND..in the fall. Least favs are Reflection...due to layout and crowded feeling. And the aging M Class ships. Although they are a great size and layout, they have old systems like AC and plumbing,...even with planned refurbs.
  22. Not aware of any such limit. What does it say in your Welcome Letter? Or chk with Cap Club onboard.
  23. Can u File complaint with yoyr xredit card company? If you can, you may get a temp re credit and it often hastens the process
