  1. Thank you for the links..I will try to follow them. This fridge is so neat and clean.. Ours is more cluttered but kept clean..we only buy fresh products that are on sale..economic necessity these days!
  2. We appreciate this honest review from a frequent cruiser and fellow Cruise Critic poster. Sorry for all the negatives you encountered, esp the wire in the food..dangerous! We will be careful with food, loud music etc when we sail on the Beyond..only 5 days..in Nov. Seems the " covid excuse" is now replaced with the "supply chain" excuse..not just on land! We sailed on EDGE twice and loved it..esp the 4 mdr plan that came with our Sunset Veranda. I too hated the dark hallway which I named the.."creepy forest" in my early reviews....no clear pathway, low light, hard to see anything and folks in scooters racing through..We did our best to avoid it and have already noted to avoid the even worse looking similar area on BEYOND. We will also leave any shows or areas with music that is amped up. Bad or the ears and ruins the music. Hoping we will find nice spots for quiet and relaxation , and some good spa treatments on BEYOND...the Art collection and plantings on EDGE were outstanding, so hope BEYOND will offer something similar...the Eden cafe was great for lunch and also the Bistro..light and brighy..great soups and salads ( upcharge worth it) Hope you will post some photos b/c they are usually quite beautiful!
  3. We swim first thing in the Solarium pool. Cool, fresh water....all before the crowds jump in! We are gone before then. Always bring a ratty swimsuit for the hotubs.. then we throw them out after they are really ," done"
  4. Try to get answers BEFORE leaving the ship..what does the current Online postings say or any of your paperwork. We would prefer refund ( prorated) rather than a FCC with theur stipulatiins and conditions,
  5. Cruise line ins is fairly basic and if you live in NY or some other states, you need to buy from their third party rep..not very convenient. Being on medicare with supp ins that won't cover us out of the US, we need a good amount of med ins coveragem along with evac ins to get us home in case of illness or injury.. Have to start looking for our Nov cruise...
  6. Maybe the older couple can give you their fcc. Move to the shortest cruise you can find.,5 days..and use up the fcc thats what we hope to do..
  7. That's correct...but you can enjoy your balcony, the solarium during non family swim hrs and perhaps book a pvt area at the pool . The kiddos will be in the hot tubs, outdoor pools , in restaurants and at the shows, etc.. its family vacation week, probably not what you wanted to hear...
  8. Enjoying this review..great style, photos and helpful info.! We cruised on EDGE in a SV , loved our cabin despite lots of walking to and from the elevator, and we enjoyed the 4 mdr plan..favs were Tuscan and the Greek venue. Also had great lunches at the Eden cafe and Bistro ( upcharge..well worth it).. We are looking forward to a short cruise on BEYOND this fall.... Thanks for sharing!
  9. In AQ class, we have had good luck asking for shrimp, sushi, cheese and fruit. We always bring our own crackers..Celeb crackers are often stale and tasteless. Does not hurt to ask....
  10. Glad they were found..Someone at X really goofed by giving you those tags!. I'd pay the fare and get the bags home safely asap..then argue with X over reimbursement. On our last few cruises we stopped doing walk off because it is a total cluster....unless you are a suite guest. Our next cruise is only for 5 days and we are in a suite so we will walk off with our luggage and a small carry-on or maybe just take carry ons! Will also look into the size bag we can carry on.. does anyone know? .(X is not so great distributing bags once you are on board,...dh has had to search for them a few times!) The tags suggested by Jim,,sounds like a very good idea
  11. Agreed..big miss to not include this. Most newer ships offer one!
  12. Glad to hear photo package prices are down and the discounts apply as well. We always get one,...maybe 12 shots in an album. Helps enjoy the cruise memories..They do an excellent job on E class. From the photo with the guitar player, I see another area displaying bland white items suitable for the next garage sale!
  13. We take whatever they offer....it is what it is We will never hit ZENITH and nowadays the most valuable perks go to suite guests The loyalty program means less as you go up the tiers, & there's less of an incentIve to get to ZENITH Mostly we still like the laundry and included internet minutes for Elite + , and a free gelato &/or specialty coffee, if still offered. We always have a drink package so no need of the free cao Club gathering other than it was a pleasant social event most nights. Spa has port pricing so discount perk is not really anything Priorty boarding is a joke for anyone not in a suite...and even those with the special, boarding day lunch go ahead of AQ Class many times.. no longer a valued perk for us We stopped attending the Sr Officers Party b/c they invited all tiers and place was wall to wall...not a nice party at all. The special sailaways are still fun! Would like more discounted pricing based on loyalty but doubt that will happen.
  14. It is not spring water,.. we find that it tastes vile so we never open it...we bring along a few btls of spring water, and buy what we need on board or in ports . So a reduced benefit of the drink perk,
  15. Aha... so that's where they store all the Kelly Hoppen stuff that folks ask to be removed from their staterooms...like faux bleached coral and vases that do not hold water. All very dull and drab. We would fill that with a nice floral and a few colorful items
  16. On our last infinity cruise...obviously pre Covid, we had an AQ Cabin. The ac system in the cabin and along our hallway was not working for a goid portion of the cruise, Repair person came promptly (and often) but it was never really fixed. He was taking used parts from elsewhere.??? Older ship..old systems. ( we also sailed on her shortly before that and had no issues..hit or miss, luck of the draw!) On the dysfunctional a/c sailing , we had mildew in our bthrm ( aggravated by lack of a/c), but thankfully our toilet flushed okay and the shower did not back up...others on our deck were not that lucky.,,hallway fans were run non stop to dry carpets. Hope your AC improves but this ship needs systemic updates beyond cosmetic refresh... hope you can enjoy your cruise..
  17. Thanks for the informatibe review and photos. We did a similar itin yrs ago. Loved stopping at Nice..hope you you back there some day. Glad you enjoyed the spa..it was awesome on EDGE. Much better than Canyon Ranch! Our upcoming BEYOND cruise in Nov is a short one, but we will probably skip a port..will look for a facial with "port pricing". BTW...If they still use the Elemis brand you can get that online..usually with a discount and free shipping. Enjoy!
  18. Gorgeous gown so perfect for cruising. You must have a fabulous " cruise closet". Ours has dwindled .. we now have a huge snowbird closet..some overlaps but fewer dress up outfits. Was nice to see the female officers....the ones on Edge were awesome. Girl Power! Glad you enoyed your cruise!
  19. Thanks for posting. Easy to spot one's stateroom..but ours is on the other side of the view!
  20. Not cruising solo but will def join in for a Gatsby Party.. have you joined the roll call?
  21. Loss to Celebrity, if any, not the same as a cruiser's payment. Hoping things work out for OP...
  22. HARSH! Exceptions are made all the time for human errors..we are all fallible. I see.no harm allowing an extended cruise date..esp if price is adjusted at going rates. I do not think anyone suggested breaking any laws..just setting a new cruise date.
  23. excellent reminder was posted( see below)...hope it serves as a warning to keep current & maybe X going up the chain of command can move cruise date or give a fcc??? we are always checking our passport exp date and requirements for sailing and ports..takes much longer to get things these days..the Covid excuse! " d 18 hours ago 19 hours ago, cangelmd said: It sounds like much of your problem is out of your control and you have my sympathy (and I’m going to rush and check my passport). Everyone should also remember that many destinations require your passport to have at least 6 months of validity left when you travel, so renewal should very early in the year that it expires. It might be helpful to add “passport issue”, or something similar to your thread title to help disseminate these valuable reminders! I hope you get this resolved and have a wonderful trip!"
  24. We've been to to a Gatsby wedding for a cousin. We live on Long Island, NY....site of the story. It was held in a north shore "Gatsby" style mansion on LI Sound. Great fun! Maybe we could do a Gatsby party on BEYOND...,not sure about the baby grand?? Easy to dress..black and white with the fancy headpiece or headband, bling etc for ladies. Men..also easy..hat, " gangster" couture,,dh loved doing it..but he is a very good sport. Circling Back to the pool safety/ supervision issue; from recent water safety posting...great advice. For some pool parties here for kids, a life guard is hired. Parents' watchful eyes are also needed. Even kids who had lessons can get tired! ". Supervise Adults should actively supervise children and stay within arm’s reach of young children and new swimmers. Kids should follow the rules. Designate someone to keep a close eye and constant attention on children and weaker swimmers in and around the water."
