For our recent Covid bout we believe we contracted it in Airport or on airplane..Fl to NY via Balt, we are triple vacinated but guess it does not provide full protection.. we were sick for abt a week but nothing as terrible as what we think we had pre testing & vaccinations. We isolated for 10 days..no prescription meds given., hoping for immunity into November Just took the 2nd shingles shot and next up is senior flu shot!

Good choice .Certainty is good and 6 pm is a decent time, but they will probably be assigned to the same dining rm each night..and probably at a long table masquerading as twos in a long row....Menus are flexible among the diff dining rms so not that a big issue. From our EDGE experience , once settled in, their maitre d can help them try some of the others, we prefer the 2 smaller venues Tuscan and the Greek. And they can ask for a diff table if they are confined to the long row of twos in their assigned mdr

Thanks for the tips. We try to use stairs as much as we can but avoid handrails. We like to walk outdoors for exercise and fresh air. We are crowd aversive to begin with..so will do our best to avoid ,,,.sometimes lines etc cannot be avoided We will do what we can but not obsess unless Covid numbers are high. Anyone know the current Cap of Beyond? Is Kate still on leave/ vacation?

Sorry OP for your troubles , Not well handled by X at all .. When your quarantine period ends will you be free to go out of the stateroom or are u extended now due to husbs pos test?? Do u know how many pos Covid cases are now on BEYOND? Wonder if they will overall sanitize the ship and re impose masking and distancing protocols? We will board BEYOND in Nov for a 5 day short cruise...We.had Covid recently so hope it will help with immunity along with our 2 shots and booster quite awhile ago. We would hate to spend the entire time in our rm. Used up all our Future Cruuse Credits from cancelled cruises for the fare, first time ever in a suite, Hoping for the best but stress level is now heightened!

We took a Celeb excursion that covered major sites , historic etc and then went to the modrrn city..forgot which museum we visited. Time to grab a bite to eat, shop and take photos. We did not feel rushed or cramped. It is an amazing city and the X tour had a ships's rep along with us, top notch guides... was one of our fav port days ! I'd consider an X excursion

Wasn't a suite, but we had a Sunset Veranda cabin on EDGE. Our next door neighbors were party central for about 20 others.. in the afternoon, pre dinner post dinner party all the time. We thought it was rude and selfish and could only enjoy our balc when they went to dinner or events! Lots of extra clean up work for staff. I think the friends of the suite people will manage boarding on their own; and enjoy the amenities that come with their booking.

Can't you just work this out with maitre d ..once on board. Head to dining rm as soon as you board.. Shoreside and on ship..two different worlds!

As someone mentioned, those in charge of tender vessels are licensed Captains and responsible for all.operations on board...passenger safety as well. Calling them Drivers is not best choice of words. OP was excited with the experience and I don't think we should pile on here. In my professional field we Cebrated many firsts..late 80s into the 90s...not all professions or industries evolve(d) at the same time! Let it go...

We've had women Captains before on tenders. Why not???

Thanks for the offer. Might be fun to take a peek..will we see up you at the Sailaway get together? We always try to stop by at Sailaway to say hello even if we don't stay too long! We also want to check out the Retreat. Also waiting to hear if the Gatsby get together is a go.. short cruise..so we want to relax a bit too! We swim early am at the Solarium or sit in the shade at outdoor pool....No need for a cabana. Hope others will post feed back after trying one.

Everytime we booked the later flight out of Long Beach we got to the airport way early and had a long boring wait..but better safe than sorry! Missing a flight would be bad! In and out of LAX we use a limo ...just easier...no stress, no worry, no hurry!

We are cruising on BEYOND same as you. Are you going to try this? On EDGE they were oriented differently but were still impacted by walk throughs.and had part of the seating on the other side of the path...just a poor design choice. The pathway was also very windy..planters were blown down regularly. Hats blew off as we walked through on our art tour.

We no longer do the surveys. They only cover limited areas..and seem to be for PR purposes rather than actual improvements. Little or no space is given to explain or comment. Just another corporate waste of our time. Best to send a note to the proper supervisor to compliment staff as the cruise unfolds..The staff member gets instant recognition shared with peers, extra telephone minutes and time off. Same for addressing neg issues. Do it on board in the nicest way possible if staff does not correct or improve. We very much dislike it when staff members constantly BEG for a high rating..ugh! Ruins the ambiance and is plain annoying

Most still dress up a bit ( not formal) on chic nights..Jeans by any descriptive name are still jeans! Times are changing on Celebrity. X is now "Royalized" Our upcoming roll call group may do a dress up gatsby party on BEYOND! Sounds like fun..we will be chic!

Nice review....good details. We did a similar itin years ago..it was lots of fun but was during a period of safety cautions in some of the ports. Did you feel safe in ports, esp where you went for local food? How were the bands on board?

Pretty much...but eventually we will re think. Right now..happy with our current plans to enjoy SW Florida..after we go through minor cleanup!

Prices have increased everywhere...we get that...and we tip quite generously, always have, even to some who were not deserving .Working on a ship far from home...not easy. But along with higher fares, there are little increases here and there, along with overall reduction in Modern Luxury over the years,, unless one books a suite. There is also a changed clientele. The Celebrity CEO is Royal trained...did not come up through Celebrity. X should raise staff salaries, spend more money to train staff .....and cease lowering quality of food, and items at Baccio etc. I assume CEOs are still making money based on above posts. Royalization of X was not a step up! We will try our first suite ( all inclusive fare) on BEYOND, moving up from AQ Class. But in past yrs , everyone was treated like a "Celebrity" regardless of what cabin you booked. , We have loved every cruise (they "exceeded expectations"), and enjoyed most every ship, from Mercury to EDGE. The Celebrity experience is diff now. We never say never but will look for short cruises out of TPA with lowered expectations.

Glad we have made final payment The way things seem to be going with X, final payment may actually be the finale for us!
