  1. Standards have lowered but usually we see folks dress "non slob!" And we have observed enforcement of no shorts for dinner and no bathing suits at lunch..unless suitably covered up. We dress up more for chic night but no more jackets, ties, gowns or such...unless folks want to..
  2. In general..not always an easy walk..sometimes rainy, sometimes sunny. If not close by to the terminal or near a tram stop, you can drop off luggage and circle back. Much easier to take a taxi into the port but we will be driving for BEYOND...short cruise we will travel light! Best ever was when we had the terminal next to Convention Center..Prking kot right in front..easy walk on...not the usual set up.
  3. https://www.oceanoasisbonaire.com/en/ Doesnt look bad..We love Bonaire!
  4. There comments and photos at Trip Adv may help you and if you google there are other other photos
  5. Try to find some photos..esp how you would access the water. Some of the beach clubs did not have much of a teal beach and awkward water access..But no idea which ones. Bonaire as we recall is not a big sandy beach stop...other ABC Islands are more " beachy"
  6. As you will see... Tendering in Belize is in smooth waters..long ride to the port stop. Nothing like GC...open water, wavey and rough on some days! Excursion vendors are def on top of things...they will sometimes make everyone wait til all their clients have landed on shore. Good luck..have fun!
  7. Jim You and Iain look so happy on this cruise. Smiles are coming through. And of course the fabulous photos...so many favorites!
  8. Gail Thank you for sharing your dtr's story, Our dtr was diagnosed with triple neg breast cancer at a very young age over 7 yrs ago. She bravely endured the surgeries and chemo. Now, she is happily married with 2 great children....living each day as to the fullest. My message is one of HOPE...for all of our dtrs and those who love them! Following Jims blog..brightens the day for many of us! Thank you Jim!
  9. If not on a ship's excursion or you do not have suite priority you won't be first, Sea conditions can result in missing the port or long tender delays., One time they actually changed side of ship for tenders..and another time loaded Pax one at a time every few minutes...rough seas. Someone got hurt getting on..further delay! No guarantees on any given day and unfortunately no way to predict if u will have a good day or delays..Good luck
  10. Great photos as usual. This is my new fav..perfect composition, balance, color, lighting, etc Thanks!
  11. Sunset Balconies are excellent on EDGE. Grab one whenever you can, Stateroom are larger than IVs, huge balc with unfettered aft views. Quiet locations..just a long walk to elevators. Access to the 4 mdrs..all excellent! ( there are some nice suites back there as well)
  12. I'd stick with 12:55... Even if disembark runs smoothly and limo is on time...long ride to airport (traffic?) Baggage check in security line can take a long time at FCO..no way to know ahead of time. Non stop is great but stress is worse! We stay over extra night so lucky you can leave on disembark day...
  13. We always call in .. we go over the invoice, fcc, etc and stay on the line while rep sends us a zero bal invoice, works best for us
  14. Sad looking piece of meat, as well as the plating itself..3 lonely pieces of carrot... I always ask for dbl veggies...knowing how skimpy the veggie servings are these days! Nicer looking prime rib at the Outback... but how did it taste?
  15. We bought the Celeb ins from the rec NY agency ( as well as an extra evac and med policy elsewhere) It was a hassle. When cruise was cancelled..forgot why..we did not get a refund for the ins cost...bummer. NYS law caused it but it was really not same as having X ins policy..which would have been refunded. This time around we just bought the other policy..great coverage..evac, primary med, etc, we purchased it the day after we made final payment..no issues. We are not near our cruise file but I can post the co when we are home..
  16. We always found nice things for kiddies on X ships( clothes, books etc ..except EDGE..."shops with attitude!" Salesperson sniffed when we put down the over priced sweatshirts! We are not cheapskates or bargain hunters but do not like to feel ripped off!
  17. Really a huge ripoff..limited choices. We bring our own snacks! In contrast, the perfumes and cosmetics stores seem to have normal dept store prices,..a few specials but no big bargains. On EDGE, the store with postcards etc, had nothing for children/ grandchildren, really high pricing. Sweatshirts were around $ 85 or more..we passed. Bought a crystal ship model for grandson, a few keychains and magnets. We will expect the same on BEYOND
  18. Celeb does not excel in free movies and tv options. Ok but limited..they do show movies on board at outdoor locations. Too bad they no longer have the small indoor movie theater afaik.....,used to be fun..popcorn machine and all..I think now used for live comedy on some ships????
  19. Supply and demand depending on the bookings. They often have nice combo specials But if you want something at port pricing , you can always book ahead Pre covid, I would book my facial and a masage ahead and then look for a nice special combo.. not sure what to do now..Covid phobic!
  20. Good point about Classic inclusions and extra charge for an upgraded single drink. I like a Baileys now and then,,..most waiters dont even bother with the upcharges, esp if they know u tip extra.. Look at the lists and see what is the best fit, Btw..the classic comes with water in a gray btl..we find it undrinkable, and buy upgraded water, along the way
  21. Agree.... but so are many others. We deal with whoever we connect with. If not helpful we do not book and call again later. We research on line but book with a Celeb Vac Planner,..they often know abt deals, cabins etc. For intnl cruises with airline, hotel, and other plans needed, we would use a full service local trvl agent....
  22. what treat..awesome photos of places we have never been to.. Enthusiasm and wonder is really coming through! I tried to adjust the color of this great pic of you both,,but I think I made it too blue..sorry...
  23. Oh my ..like a painting..only better. Truly amazing...must have been even better to see it in person,
  24. All look interesting but for us we would go with the Prime Rib.. The Celery Soup is one our favs on X, DH got a recipe one yr from the amazing chef at Bistro on Five where we used to eat our lunch each day...We had 24 for dinner on Thanksgiving ( dtrs then new inlaw family) DH made that soup...What a huge hit. They asked for 2nds and 3rds..they were slurping their bowls. We always found Celeb to excel at soups and salads...yummy!
  25. Silhouette is our fav S Class ship..tied with Equinox Cruise will be more about the ports and family time... I would not worry
