  1. Good to know info, but can I add one twist and not create a new thread? If and adult and child are in a room, does the child need refreshment pkg if adult gets alcohol pkg? Eddie
  2. Follow up question, anyone know if Grandeur has a hibachi side?
  3. There are two different sides in Izumi? When reserving do do I need to state hibachi side.
  4. It is obvious the industry is in a price sensitivity phase. I wouldn’t go so far to call it gouging, but prices now are testing boundaries. I presently have 3 booked for 2023, but NONE booked for 2024 as yet. Still weighing options with increased fees. It would be easier if the lines indicated the Price increases will have a noticeable positive effect on MDR quality, and entertainment on smaller ships. Rather we get word services may be cut, such as twice daily room service. Prices up and services down are a recipe and even incentive for.......let’s try something else. I believe as the Shutdown period ended there was downward pressure on prices to get passengers back. Now there is upward pressure to generate cash flow to pay down debt. If there numbers of passengers are steady and rising we may never see downward pressure on pricing again. BUT.....they all built these new larger ships, and the pressure to fill so many births every week keeps pricing from soaring even more. Plus the addition of Virgin, MSC and any others should help with some downward pressure on pricing. I think a line that comes out and says they are highly improving the MDR and entertainment will support some higher pricing without poor feedback. They all have a ton of debt and need to keep ships close to full. Eddie
  5. Got a picky eater in the group, is Izumi an option or not? Thanks for your help, Eddie
  6. I believe on they have only one backstage crew, that work the Headline shows, then on other nights the Aqua shows, and at other times the Ice show. I have been told even the performers of say the Aqua show work wardrobe changes and other backstage duties while the headline show is playing, and vice versa when the Aqua show is playing. So, the reason they don’t have 6 performances per week is that same as every other issue, .....staffing Eddie
  7. I received in e-mail a request for a survey, supposedly from Royal Caribbean Research. Royal Caribbean Research <noreply@qemailserver.com> We did not just disembark a cruise, so it can't be the normal survey. Eddie
  8. Dear Desperate Neep, Will you respect me in the morning? Respectively, Royal Up
  9. Strange how it works that way. We entered the line after 9 a.m. and it was snaking and 100 yards long. Plus, we were a middle group number, the Scooner Bar was still SRO. Our room attendant told us the TA was not close to capacity, and that our cruise was at full capacity, which I am sure accounts for some of the weekly difference.
  10. I have always dreaded the chaotic lack of organization in the disembarkation process. My last disembarkation was 48 hours ago, Voyager of the Seas in Boston, so it is still fresh in my mind. We followed the rules, left our room to allow the room attendant access, and waited in the Schooner Bar just near the elevator for our number to be called. Many people exited the elevator and simply turned left to get into the line, rather than turn right to get into the waiting area. Are they considered line jumpers? I don't think they knew they were not supposed to enter the line, as the one person directing people was all over the place, so many times not there to monitor those exiting the elevator and entering the line. Next, about 8:45 a couple exits the elevator and stands next to us. They said the TV in the room only showed Groups 1 and 2 as called. I told them the announcements said they were calling groups 1 through 12. The hallway monitors showed groups 1 through 9 were called, and the employee monitoring the line with his walkie talkie was saying groups 1 - 7. At the same time you could see people in line to exit with group tags on their carry-ons, I saw a 16 and a 21. At least one couple was making a scene about the entire mess, several others chirped unhappiness also. I did see several occasions where self assist came to the area at 8:15 and 8:30 and 8:45 and balked that they had to wait in the huge line that stretched from outside mid deck where they scanned your sea pass, through the forward section of deck 4, to 50 feet down the outside deck on the opposite side of the ship. I heard a few say to the monitor, .....but I'm self assist, I should go to the front, to which he simply said, ......there is only one line here, you could have entered it long ago, but now others have also been called......... DW and I entered the line after 9 o'clock, saw many with group numbers higher than ours, and exactly 60 minutes later were seated in a taxi headed to the airport. I hate the chaotic process, and this last experience was not our worst one. To be honest, I don't think RCL really cares much about the order people exit, as long as it keeps moving. Eddie
  11. Like I said I am flummoxed, and have not previously completed ArriveCan. So are you saying I (More like WE in this thread) Can complete the ArriveCan items 72 hours prior.....that would be Thursday of this week? Eddie
  12. Well heck if everyone else is going, I’m going too! Alex, Cooncat, Thrifty and Georgemoe, Mrs Eddie and I will also be there. The ArriveCan appears to have worked on my phone app so far, but I can’t proceed further until the 72 hour mark, but I think I really have to wait for the 48 hour mark as wont the arriveCan want a negative Covid test? i could be wrong on that, these Covid changes has flummoxed me a tad. 13. I was there, I told my son before the game the Steelers had a real camp, where the bBengals did not. He followed with, “then you should bet on them” i didn’t. But I will check my bags with the porter
  14. I believe Princess has had a limit of 15 or around there for awhile
  15. We were looking to book 7 rooms for a family cruise. At first they said no, but I talked with the next cruise manager, she called for permission, and was given approval.
  16. I have SERIOUS RESERVATIONS that they would break this rule. The potential liability, and unbelievable bad press that would occur if God forbid, something terrible happened could be devastating. In addition, a parent who authorized such a solo world travel trip could be held accountable for childs liability should something go seriously wrong. And before everyone shoots that possibility down, look up the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, who last year bent their own rules allowing a family with 3 or 4 kids under 18, including one really young run the marathon. Eddie
  17. For timing purposes, they would need all that info done prior to sailing. So no mid cruise plan changes I guess
  18. Are you looking for Decks of Playing Cards? Postcards? Ship Shape Shirts? When CoCo Cay first opened the transactions on the island were done with fake gold coins. I forget what they called them, doubloons? So we had to exchange real money for fake money, then many of us brought the fake money home as a souvenir. Great strategy. Of course that is not a free gift. Eddie
  19. I know this doesn’t answer your question, I want to follow though as we are planning a 3 generation cruise. Anyway, on more than one occasion we have stopped parents of young children just to compliment them on how well behaved their children are at dinner. Dressed well and behaving, whatever they are doing I wish I could duplicate it. On the other hand, regarding small children..........no need to mention, On our last cruise, we did see a table near us always have their children’s meals served at the same time as the parents salads. Gave the kids a head start, but they stayed at the table the entire time. May have had 2 tantrums over a 9 night cruise, so the were mostly good mates. Eddie
  20. Does the ArrivCan issue temporarily void the Canada option?
  21. Wait just a minute here.........your not supposed to get a little taste test of the items in buffet before slapping it on, and what’s this tipping thing, how long has that been around, I just opt out of them. If people are coming out of the elevator as I am walking in, I politely say, “Sorry, are you in my way?”
  22. Or is it the .....If I were not upon the sea......closing act?
  23. Are you suggesting they are bringing back ship shape dollars and neon yellow shirts.
  24. Corollary question, so a child does not have a passport, then raised seal passport is required? Closed loop via Seattle. Thanks in advanced
