  1. I like Cats, have seen it twice in off Broadway productions and twice on Oasis. I do think it gets slow at times. Royal’s production is excellent, better than one of the off Broadway productions I attended. Having said that, I have never thought Cats seemed right on a cruise ship. It is kind of depressing, I can never get through it without getting teary eyed, throw in a glass of wine and I am sobbing.😂. I am on a cruise to relax and have fun, not contemplate the meaning of life. Entertainment on a cruise ship should be fun! Sherri🙂
  2. I had to use my birth certificate and DL in early May as my passport was in the process of being renewed. I assumed it would slow down checkin but found it did not. I took our wedding license as a “bridging” document and no one asked to see any such document. I also thought it would be a slower process getting off the ship but that, too, turned out to be easy. My husband went through the passport line to do the facial recognition, I had to present my docs to a real agent, there was no line. The agent seemed really bored and barely looked at my docs and I was done before my husband.😂 Sherri🙂
  3. Sharon, it did seem like the kitchen redo was a long time away but I have found 2022 seems to be flying by. Our construction guy originally said it would take about 8 weeks but said the other day projects have started to move a little faster so I am hopeful it might not take as long. Any tips for Budapest? What was it you liked so much? We are planning to arrive a few days before. Any tips for river cruising? We will be sailing on Viking. Sherri🙂
  4. My most memorable was our cruise in 2009. from Port Canaveral around South America to LA. It was actually 3 cruises for a total of 46 days on Mariner. Some of my favorite memories were overnights in Rio and Buenos Aries, walking on Penguin Island with thousands of penguins in Ushuaia, and wine tasting in Chile. Great cruise! Second best was a cruise on Radiance across the Pacific from Sydney to Honolulu with a B2B that circumvented the Hawaiian islands and ended in Vancouver. 30 amazing nights! Sherri🙂
  5. We will cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. 14 nights and very intensive, every day is a new port. We may need a vacation when it is over.😂 Sherri🙂
  6. Welcome home, Lois! I hope your leg is improving and you are feeling better. Eleven days went by quickly! And welcome home to you, too, Cynthia! Kat, love your pictures! Your meal looks amazing! Grandkids left yesterday afternoon, their flight was delayed for an hour due to heavy thunderstorms in the Orlando area. Daily afternoon storms are pretty typical for Florida during the summer so we are usually surprised if a flight is not delayed. We had a great time with them but back to a quiet house. Only temporarily, however, as kitchen construction is supposed to start next Monday! We will be living in a construction zone for the next 8 weeks. My husband got a little crazy and booked a river cruise on Viking for next summer. He has been wanting to do one for years so he thought this would be a good way to celebrate our 50th anniversary next summer. OOTD: gym clothes, after the gym I have a lot of sand to sweep up, amazing how much sand two kids can carry in! 😂 Sherri🙂
  7. I do not know if that has been the reason for anyone being turned away; however, my results that came from emed did not indicate a CLIA number. My last results from Walgreens were reported in a different format than previous ones, I kept mine on my phone and there was no CLIA number. And I do know the all of agents checking us in have verbally checked off DOB, name, date of test and results without mentioning any number. Sherri🙂
  8. We’ve done this 12 times now since August at various labs, no one has ever been interested in the CLIA number. The checkin agent looks for name, DOB, date of test and result. Sherri🙂
  9. My new fav for pool days is Aperol Spritz, sometimes called Passion Spritz. Vodka, Aperol, a little mixer, and sparkling wine. Very kight and not too sweet! Sherri🙂
  10. Lois, are you taking any pain meds? They can cause stomach issues, especially NSAIDs like Ibuprofen. I hope you feel better today! Sherri🙂
  11. Mine took right at 5 weeks and I did not pay for expedited service. Sherri🙂
  12. Wow, Lois, that sounds like quite an experience and a painful one at that. Good news that it’s not a blood clot! My husband is home from Australia and, no, he did not notice my haircut.🙄. The Wildman has gone home and I think I have recovered. The next round of grandkids starts Sunday but they are pretty easy going kids so it won’t be as physically demanding. Kat, I hope you have a great trip! I am looking forward to reading about your adventures! OOTD: exercise clothes for the gym, no make up. After gym, I will be cleaning house, getting ready for kids so nothing fun today! Sherri🙂
  13. MTD had the same problem with long lines the first 2 nights whether you had a reservation or not. The second night line reached from inside doors past elevators into art area towards Studio B. And this was at 8pm. No lines nights 3 & 4, dining room was not busy at all. Maybe people had given up?🙄 On night 2 when the line was out into the art area, a woman walked up to the desk and asked where the line was for the suite people, she was waved over to the long line. She was not happy😂 Sherri🙂
  14. Hello to all! Melody, Sir Winston (love the name!) is a very handsome dog. I love having a “grand dog”, we can play with them and then they go home! Lois, sounds like you had a fun day! Make up, unlike clothing, is something I have always enjoyed shopping for! So much fun to pick out new colors and then try them at home. Big day for me today: I had been letting my hair grow during the pandemic so decided a change was needed. Had 4 inches cut off along with new highlights and color. I have very coarse, thick hair so this feels much lighter. Will be interesting to see if my husband notices when he gets home next weekend😂 I am driving to Orlando airport later today to pick up the “Wildman”. The next week will be spent keeping him entertained and busy! OOTD: denim capris and a gap t, and, for the first time in a week, I actually put makeup on, probably the last time until next weekend! Sherri🙂
  15. Disembarkation this morning was super fast and easy! I am home with a load of laundry going @ 930. The crew was amazing, even though the ship was packed, the crew always seemed to be giving 100%. Food, on the other hand, has definitely gone down hill since our cruise on IOS in January. The best food I had all cruise was the Snack Shack chicken sandwich and French fries on Coco Cay. MDR food was just average, although my beef short rib last night was inedible and it is usually one of my favorite entrees. I did not go to any specialty restaurants but kind of wish I had. Grease was performed at 3pm and 8 pm yesterday. I did not go as I saw it in January and in December on Harmony but people said it was very well done. Sherri🙂
  16. Solarium is packed, pool is packed. Seems to be a lot of people with drink packages😉. Lots of yelling😂😂 Sherri🙂
  17. I agree! We have not used the DL much since cruising resumed, we like the freedom the vouchers give to use other venues. However, this cruise is so crowded, I have used the DL to escape, there is rarely more the a handful of people in it. The swimming pools are all packed today, SRO😂 Sherri🙂
  18. There is a toaster but I have not seen any bagels or bread, just some muffins, danishes and croissants. There are small cups of yoghurt parfaits, with blueberry or strawberry on the bottom. Sherri🙂
  19. Currently in Independence, crew has been amazing, bar service has been great, but I would grade food in the MDR a C. Bigque, we do get a basket of bread each night but rolls have been stale so you did not miss anything. Last night’s lasagna was dried out as if it had been sitting under a lamp for hours, the couple at the table next to me sent theirs back. Lunch in the WJ on embarkation day was good. I tried to have breakfast there the first morning and it was so chaotic and crazy that I have not been back. I have just gone up to DL to as there had been no one up there. The best food I have had was the chicken sandwich from the Snack Shack on Coco Cay. I did not see a single bar waiter walking around with a tray of Coco Locos for sale on the island which was unusual. Ice show was very good, especially the pairs skaters. Last night’s headliners were a pair of comedians/ jugglers, I left after 15 min. Invitation to Dance was one of the production shows, it was ok. Grease is tonight. Sherri🙂
  20. Good morning to all! Very hot here in Satellite Beach plus, we have started having our 3pm thunder storms that are more typical in July and August. Some really gorgeous lightening out over the ocean! Husband made it to Australia last evening, he said it was not a bad trip although none of his flights left on time. I think that is what airline travel is like these days. He says it is cold in Melbourne, it is winter there but temps are in the mid 50s during the day which does not sound cold to me. Sharon, I AM enjoying the alone time a little bit. I am not cooking, last night’s dinner was peanut butter and jelly😂. I watched Julia, thought it was very interesting. Tonight will be Stanley’s shows. Lois, Barcelona is one of my favorite cities! Love how walkable it is and love the market on Las Ramblas. I hope you have a great time! OOTD: exercise clothes! Going out to walk before it gets too hot. May spend the afternoon floating in the pool.😂. I hope you all keep cool and have a lovely Sunday! Sherri🙂
