  1. I was in 8544 on Grandeur last month. In that case the lifeguard desk was above my cabin. I don't know where that station is located on Vision. I heard a couple chairs being moved now and then but it was very quiet at night.
  2. I just did two Grandeur cruises and got home on Friday. My cabin (8544) had AC problems for most of both cruises. Never got cooler than probably 77 or 78 at night. They finally got it working on the last night and it was very cold. The public areas all seemed fine to me.
  3. The cruise line that operates the Allure is RCI for Royal Caribbean International. The corporation that owns RCI and several other cruise lines is actually RCG (Royal Caribbean Group) but they kept the RCL stock ticker name for simplicity after the name change from RCCL.
  4. I expected them to say "Customs flagged you and we have to take you to them".
  5. They also did this with Luggage Valet. The ship had to randomly select a number of people who were using that service. I got nailed once, on Liberty. Went to card off the ship and got the alert sound. Security guy hustled me into the infirmary waiting room and took my passport, didn't say why. Soon there were eight of us, all in the dark about what was going on. Perp walked us off the ship looking like criminals and into the customs area where our luggage had been pulled aside and we had to open it for inspection. I did not appreciate how the ship handled it. They at least should have told us why. It's not like any of us were in the position to suddenly do anything about it. I started to worry that someone had planted drugs in my luggage. Anyway, after that episode (2012) I refuse to use Luggage Valet. Of course they haven't started it back yet.
  6. We are thinking of bringing them on the Brilliance TA in November to wear at the top tier event. Just to see the reaction from the LA and others. But have the corrected pins in a pocket.
  7. After "only" an 8 month wait they shipped our pinnacle kit in August and here is what the pins looked like. I think I posted the photo before. Someone at that company actually looked at these and still placed them in the box. To their credit they did make new ones and ship them two days later.
  8. I definitely think they are using 'supply chain issues' as the default excuse for many things when it is not actually the reason.
  9. I'm doing B2B for 9 nights on Grandeur next week and had already decided on WJ dinners, mostly because I'm sick of the MDR menus but I'm also someone who is ready to be done with dinner in 90 minutes or less. I hope the WJ doesn't get too crowded at dinner hours.
  10. That sounds like the same actions we used both in the Navy and in commercial nuclear power for fires, which makes sense.
  11. From a book of the face group posting from a passenger last night: "just announced code bravo and kilo and implement plan 39, this is not a drill" "some aft cabins were evacuated as a precaution" "Wonderland was evacuated and I heard an alarm" "guests in cabins were required to stay there" "captain just announced final fire checks complete" Guest said total time of the event was about one hour. That's all I know and I don't know what plan 39 is.
  12. The check-in people at the port are only interested in marking off the boxes on their handheld devices for passport, completed set sail pass, vaccine if required, test if required, and security photo, and moving the line along. They do not have the time nor interest to see if someone meets the requirements for whatever discounts they got. I've used the military discount at least 25 times in the past year and not once was asked to prove it. I do carry a hard copy of one of my DD-214s in my carry on bag. It wouldn't surprise me if non-veterans are checking the box and getting it with no questions. At least Princess required me to email a DD-214 which they kept on file so I didn't have to do it again. for their OBC on every cruise.
  13. That is for our cruise and every other TA for October and November. Again, on the website not from the email. But I'm done. See you on the ship.
  14. Another screenshot from the same location I posted earlier that had both days and hours for testing, depending on which testing regimen you have to follow.
  15. Is that how the European health authority defines the test timing or just another vague effort at communication by RCI?
  16. Days not hours, and it doesn't count embarkation day.
  17. Today if you go to https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise and select Transatlantic Cruises From Europe the language is different from the email we received for "up to date" and the booster timing. I did a screenshot.
  18. I'm pinnacle but if I happen to share a cabin with someone who is emerald or platinum then the luggage tags for both of us will show the lower loyalty level. It is pretty useless for them to even bother putting C&A level on the luggage tags. Nobody from the porters to the crew delivering the luggage cares or even looks. They just see deck, quadrant on that deck, and move it to that location.
  19. So, since you are not doing a TA in October or November why would you receive an email? They haven't a clue what protocols will be in force for April 2023. No person or government entity with control over cruise ships knows.
  20. It's an email RCI sent out today to all of us with TA bookings in October and November.
  21. Starlink....coming soon to a cruise ship near you.Royal Caribbean Group Starlink Announcement
  22. Yes, report it. This is a headwaiter failure.
  23. That one should always have a caveat of "If you ate at Taco Bell then do not count that diarrhea episode in your answer".
  24. In one of the FB Pinnacle groups someone posted that the Hotel Director on Allure said "3 more years" until Allure gets amped. This was last week.
