  1. There is no time limit other than you have to use the free cruise by March 31 of the following year which in this case is 3/31/2024. I don't know if the cruise has to finish by that date or if you can board on 3/31/2024 and still be good to go.
  2. Hands down, Portside BBQ. In my opinion the best extra-fee dining on any Royal Caribbean ship. I don't understand why they don't put it on other ships. I was seriously disappointed that it wasn't on the Wonder. It's excellent barbecue and it's a LOT of food for the price. Last time on Oasis I ate at Portside 4 times.
  3. The tier cruise for 2023-2024 just posted, but now it's gone from my casino account. Others reporting the same problem. It was probably posted prematurely and they took it down.
  4. I think some are alluding to the Cruise With Confidence program which allowed for cancellations and price changes up to 48 hours prior to the cruise starting, and after-final payment decreases being given as OBC. But CWC ended 9/30/2022 for cruises that were covered by it. Cruise With Confidence
  5. Points accrued on a cruise are only for that cruise line and are not combined or transferable to the other brands owned by Royal Caribbean Group. You do get equivalent recognition of member status though, so for example a Diamond member on Royal gets Elite member status on Celebrity and vice versa. But the points remain separate.
  6. My Galveston pre-cruise plan is simple: I fly to IAH and stay at the airport Marriott. Grab my luggage, take the elevator down to the subway and get off at the hotel stop. No need to call a hotel shuttle or wait for it. I eat at the hotel or can take an Uber someplace for dinner. I reserve Galveston Express for 8am pickup the next morning. $32.50 each way for seniors. I arrive at the port around 9:45 to 10:15. It suits me and my comfort level for being close enough to the port to make it to the ship. If the shuttle fell through then I'd have to get a ride service, but I'd have several hours to accomplish it.
  7. Just to show that all pertinent C&A discounts are applied in addition to the 30% sale I tried with a balcony, both without C&A number and the DP340 and with it.
  8. When you enter your C&A number are you hitting the "GO" button before moving down to add DP340?
  9. I was on the Odyssey two weeks ago and there were several cracks in the elevator button panel glass on at least three elevators. I observed it on embarkation day so it was pre-existing. No, I didn’t take photos of it. We had very few teenagers aboard and no problems from them.
  10. I was on Odyssey last week and the deck 5 smoking area was port side outside and just forward of Giovanni's.
  11. It means your points reset to zero, but you will still be Prime until 3/31/2024.
  12. I'm pinnacle with Royal and Carnival VIFP Platinum, so I like both cruise lines. Carnival has a significant advantage with "free" food options that are very good quality. Royal is pitiful in comparison. Service is generally equal although I find the Royal bar staff to be much more fun and engaging where Carnival's bar staffs are less so. You can find drunks and malcontents on both lines that cause problems. Carnival's premium restaurants are better than Royal's, at least to my tastes. The buffets and main dining rooms are more alike than they are unique, both being average at best. I have seven Royal cruises and two Carnival cruises booked so far for this year. I plan to have an extra large time on all nine cruises.
  13. Just left Odyssey this morning and I observed this survey activity in the Windjammer on Saturday. It was a headwaiter and in this instance he was clearly guiding people to rate the food, service, everything as "a 10" and then recording their cabin number. He slowed down and looked at me but didn't stop. Not sure why although I was alone and he seemed to head for couples and families. Everyone in earshot gave rave reviews whether they believed it or not. As you said, doing it face-to-face leads many people to not want to hurt anyone's feelings so they tell the staffer what they want to hear. I'm not afraid to be critical so maybe he sensed it. Anyway, I found it to be off-putting. At dinner on the final night our headwaiter asked us (a table of three pinnacles) if we were going to "help" our waiter and assistant by giving them a 10. We told him "they were fine, but you'll find out a score when we submit our cruise surveys".
  14. I’m on Odyssey right now. The ship is running Starlink and it’s been consistent but not blazing fast. I’ve done several tests and the image is of a test I just ran. It’s typical for the week.
  15. Here's an example: On January 21, 2011 when the conversion was made I had 13 points showing for my prior cruises but my new point total was 104.
  16. You are not missing any points. Your total points in all likelihood are correct. Cruises taken prior to the point conversion in January 2011 still show the old point total but they were converted to the new point system and those points are reflected in your C&A point total. Look at this thread:
  17. In January 2011 they changed to the current point system and cruises taken prior to then still show the old point amount on the list of prior cruises. However they were recalculated using the current system and those points are reflected in your kid's C&A point total.
  18. Evening for me. I don't like playing the "go find someplace to wait" game in the mornings after breakfast until the cabin is serviced. I don't do much in the mornings so I want my cabin access, but I don't want to get in the way of the cabin staff. So I cool my heels someplace wondering if they are done yet. When I leave the cabin around 5pm I won't be back until 9pm at the earliest.
  19. Yeah I overlooked that one which is supposed to end tonight, except that it won’t but will be extended “for another 24 hours!”
  20. It isn't right. From the T&C for the current promos: "Combinability: 30% Off Every Guest, Kids Sail Free and Summer Kicker are combinable with each other as well as promotional OBCs, Next Cruise offers, instant savings, restricted discounts (for example, Seniors, Residents, Military), Promo Code driven offers, Free Upgrades, Crown and Anchor discounts, and Shareholder Benefits."
  21. As is usual with RCI IT, the customers have to figure out workarounds to get things to work. This works for me: 1. Sign in to your C&A account. 2. On the page showing existing bookings either scroll down to the bottom and select the "Plan Another Cruise" button or click on the RCI logo on the top left of the screen. 3. Find the cruise you want to price and when the first booking screen opens, DO NOT OPEN any of the "apply promo code and exclusive rates discounts" links or enter your C&A number in them. If you do it will kick out your C&A number like it you have happening right now. I've also had problems if I enter other discounts like over 55, military, or select my state. Sometimes entering those will break things and sometimes not. 4. You should then see the balcony discount and if applicable the DP340 rate when you get to the total price screen.
  22. There's a classic "company man" response to a customer. "Sorry that's not in my job description".
  23. It seems they broke my workaround for adding the C&A discounts to my pricing. I can book cruises now if I don't sign in, but if I sign in to my account I get the blank 'no cruises available' screen. At least RCI IT has solved one problem today. People are so used to their endless website crashes and other glitches that most don't bother complaining about it in social media any longer. This thread is the only instance I've seen of people online talking about the website today.
  24. Yesterday a friend and I (both of us are pinnacles) noticed that when we entered our C&A number to do a pricing it wasn't saved and when we got to the final price screen it didn't give us either the single supplement or balcony discounts, yet a friend of ours who is a D+ (not over 340 points) got his balcony discount. We didn't get either discount no matter the cruise length we tried. But when I signed into my account and went to the 'plan another cruise' button at the bottom of the screen it gave me my discounts provided I didn't open the box to add my C&A number or check the blocks for over 55, residency state, etc. RCI of course denied we had a problem and gave us the usual "you need to clear your cookies" excuse. (We had already, and it didn't matter).
  25. Nick Weir, the RCI Entertainment SVP, developed and patented the eMuster process. And as with most any patent submitted by an employee, the company owns the patent too. The patent request was submitted in September 2019, before Covid became a thing so it was not a response to the virus. Nick has been tweeting about this over the past few days. He had been working on the process for 10 years.
