  1. Remy Martin in room and in Observation but Hennesy elsewhere currently on Muse which you will join in Tokyo be prepared for 2 to 3 hr queue at airport for sadly inefficient immigration same at Osaka airport
  2. As a real Regent fan SS is definitely its equal cant fault it ....Silver Muse is beautiful
  3. Many thanks ...i know now what to include ...reports varied so much and yes sadly dress stsndards have done a nose dive recently ...very very sad indeed
  4. How dressy etc is Silver sea outside of Formal nights ? Dont want to double up just in case ....trying to pack lighter
  5. Go and enjoy Regent its great and Solo travellers are taken care of
  6. Just wait for 3 weeks so i can give you a realy fair comparison of Silverseas Regent was not always as pricey but there comes a point where if your a UK resident you spend it or see your relatives stung by 40% IHT ......but as with most things you get what you pay for and having done pretty much majority of lines Itinery is important but we do not deviate from Regent unless theres little option ....certainly wont be Seabourn though
  7. Out of interest have you sailed on Regent Seven Seas ? I agree some Silversea Itineries attract especially Japan because it includes more ports than other lines .....we did do one Silversea some years ago but can honestly say generally Regent appeals more
  8. The difference with Regent Japan cruise and Silversea is the ports ...hence much depends on what you want to see ...we prefer Regent any day on any of their ships however the Japan cruise on Silversea is more comprehensive ...it remains to be seen which cruise overall is better
  9. Same old same old ...yes sadly quite a few of what we saw on 65 day Grand Pacific in 2022 we had also seen 5 yrs previosly on SB ....
  10. Join the club ....i suspect its all down to port charges
  11. Please do not bank on SB doing your dream itinery or the tours Some on this forum do not like my negative comments about our much changed 65 day Grand Pacific cruise but we can only bitterly regret trusting SB and hoping for the best ...our previous SB cruise was great but this was sadly one issue after another cobbled together by a total lack of planning or research by an inept Seabourn HQ .
  12. If only it was even possible to read this tiny faint fancy print ....
  13. Caviar on tap is yet another reason i would avoid Seabourn especially given the zero Cognac fiasco on Grand Pacific Cruise
  14. We have sailed Regent many times certainly see no need for Concierge Both before and after Covid cant fault Regent Equally often book cruise only and fly to the port day before much less stress I am sure smaller hotels in Lisbon have space at sensible rates ...for just a night have never seen a reason to use the big boys . The one thing Covid has done and also effects of high energy costs has forced business to close which has a knock on effect on tourists
  15. I could say a fiasco from start to finish ..for starters it took TA kicking up hell of a fuss with president 24 hrs before due to fly to get transfer pick up arranged Originally put on a so called Business Flight they had us fly to Toronto from Gatwick 3 hrs from us ... to arrive after tourist only connecting flight to Calgary had already left and then another 4 hrs in Calgary for tourist flight to Vancouver When we live just 25 mins from Heathrow and direct flights to Vancouver ...sorted that with threat to cancel . Overnight in Marriot Vancouver ...all hot breakfast items ..stone cold Gala Dinner in Chihuly Glass Museum in Seattle was the very best perfectly cooked meal and beautifully tender Fillet Steak of entire 65 days !!!! Once on board for 10days they were offering non existant tours for previosly scrubbed cruise Staterooms relatively comparable to Regent Mariner and Voyager expect for poxy little TV on Seabourn Breakfast selection in Colonade fairly comparable to Regent but not same ambience Lunch varied and often meat selections were tough and poor quality Dinner there were times when our very senoir waiter would not even order let alone serve what we selected and gave up ordering fillet steak etc as all were tough Selected all tours to use up OBC Hey presto just 10 days before end of cruise with tours we so wanted to do ...All 6 were cancelled with just 36 hours notice at 9pm at night and nothing whatevervto replace them ...emails to HQ ignored Entertainment varied but all performances by John Barron, fabulous Eva and her husband were utterly flawless ....but SB theatre is certainly lacking quite a bit Zero Brandy / Cognac available for 10 days before uploaded in Auckland No one told us friends could come onboard hence we laughed when at lunch in our Auckland friends house they offered us Brandy Disembarkation to Hotel in Sydney for a truly beautiful lunch such a shame onboard food did not equal it Incredibly sad that a 65 day Grand Pacific Cruise was pretty disapointing from so many angles and finally when we got responses to emails to HQ they were completely dismissive There are just many things that simply do not compare to Regent from tablecloths at lunch to the basic quality of meat and food selection to a real theatre and a very very different attitude from Destination services desk never mind a TV big enough to watch a film .
  16. Well not long got off Seabourn and no intention of repeating ...Regent wins hands down compared to that
  17. Rallydave of course your paying for them in same way as you pay for free drinks !!! Its all a question of the level of service etc you get on whichevervline you choose If you add cost of drinks, gratuities , tours , and same quality of food and service to mass market lines theres not always a huge difference to choosing Regent in first place
  18. Agree with both of you ...the SB clique all gather round the bar in Observation and dont dare anyone to criticise SB ....staffing issues on ship are not cause of SB failures total lack of research or ability at Head Office is plus their totally dismissive attitude when problems do arise
  19. Best thing is to have a TA that gives a better price and no OBC
  20. Seabourn on our 65 day Grand Pacific cancelled with just 36 hours notice 6 excursions for last 10 days of the cruise there was nothing whatever to replace them ..we had used OBC to book them right at the start and their attitude has been downright appalling ...would not sail with them again ...who wants to sail 8000+ miles and not be able to see NZ and Aus ?
  21. Yes literally only 4 and on Grand Pacific 65day there were only 3 and only one was not full of sulphites ...we only drink red wines and never had problens on Regent and do not remember any on our First Seabourn but sure did on the 65 day .....
