  1. Me too. I clicked it to find out if it was supposed to be butler or better.
  2. The last I knew cabin mates of Elites were allowed to attend Elite events e.g. The Breakfast. They do not get benefits like a bag of laundry, internet discount, etc.
  3. It’s not a crawfish unless you can suck the head and eat the tail. 😉
  4. Who it is no one else’s business. There isn’t really any privacy concern about what happened, other than the ship not wanting people to know. And it’s not that unusual for them to make some sort of announcement in cases where it disrupts ship operations.
  5. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise, many years ago now, where they were both confiscating Clothes Steamers upon boarding and selling them in the gift shop. Nice racket they had going.
  6. And whether you’re in an upper suite.
  7. Yes, and very likely there will be at least one daily in the late afternoon.
  8. It works really well to open their baby food jars.
  9. Impossible to predict what might happen. One time we had a corkscrew confiscated by the shore personnel that we got on the ship.
  10. If you don’t have a size limit, bring a couple of Nebuchadnezzar’s.
  11. The small print in the benefits terms and conditions seems pretty clear: VIP Lounge Access is granted to Michael’s Club and/or Retreat Lounge wherever applicable. Benefits
  12. The Regal Princess is currently scheduled for the Ocean Cruise Terminal and the Caribbean Princess is scheduled for the Mayflower Terminal. Since they’re both Princess I imagine that’s subject to change. If I were the OP, I would only book now if it’s refundable. Here’s a link to the Cruise Ship Schedule.
  13. I believe the person making the post mentioned conversing with the person to get an idea of what might be appreciated.
  14. Sort of on that topic, I wish Celebrity had the Princess policy of allowing you to bring extra bottles by paying a $20/bottle corkage fee. Especially nice if you like nicer wines, as the fee is $20 whether it’s a bottle they charge $50 for (and you can get for $15) or one they charge $150 for (and you can get for $50).
  15. I don’t know about Princess, but on some cruise lines the monetary tips are all pooled, and the only way to ensure a tip gets to the person you want to give it to, is to do it in the form of a gift. Also, I seriously doubt that a person, when given a bottle of wine as a thank you, will say to themselves, boy do I feel de-humanised and demeaned.
  16. A copy/paste from an insurance company’s website is hardly an official source. in any case, a US citizen never needs to have their passport valid for six months to enter the US. Whether a non-US citizen does depends on where they’re from. Currently, citizens of well over 100 countries do not, and unless you’re from China, the odds are pretty good you’re exempt. Countries Exempt
  17. The perfect item for the man worried about whether his shorts will be allowed in the MDR:
  18. Since home this time of year is SW Florida, that certainly gives me a lot of latitude. 😉
  19. Unless I know I’ll need it, I always leave mine in the lockbox where there’s a near zero probability of it being lost/stolen/misplaced.
  20. Sometimes you don’t have to win the lawsuit, you just have to have enough of a case that they’ll settle for a reasonable amount rather than pay the cost of defending it.
  21. Seems unlikely considering you don’t even need one to qualify. And when you fly domestically, you don’t even need to bring it with you.
  22. Good idea, but not really necessary unless you’re flying internationally. TSA precheck isn’t tied to a passport, even though you may have used one to qualify,
  23. Only for day one? Do I have to wear long pants to eat lunch in the MDR on other days?
  24. Pants that are somewhere between capris and clam diggers, in length, anyway. Just high enough to keep them from getting caught by a bike chain.
  25. It always seemed to take a while in both Blu and Luminae to get tomato juice, so I started going to the buffet area ahead of time, getting a glass, and bringing it in. I imagine you could do the same with apple juice.
