  1. One time many years ago, we were on a package tour of Hawaii, and they took care of getting your luggage out of your room and to the plane. We packed up and went swimming at the beach. When we got back I realized I had packed everything, and ended up flying from Oahu to Kauai in a bathing suit, t shirt, and sandals.
  2. Potentially it plays out in a lot of ways. 1) You could go to the buffet. 2) You could pack your long pants in your carry on. 3) You could not close your suitcase until you get back to your room, put your long pants in it, and then set it outside. 4) You could wear your long pants the next morning. 5) You could hope the Maitre’D doesn’t kick you out of the MDR and switch to option 1) if he does. 6) You could eat dinner, go back to your room change clothes, put your suitcase out, and go to the show. I typically do either 3 or 6, although I have done 4 as well.
  3. Then a little further on it says …The terms and conditions of your original cruise booking will remain in effect following the acceptance of an Offer or if an Offer is not accepted. This includes terms and conditions pertaining to cancellation, penalties, changes, the Captain’s Club program…. So, what you gonna do? Conflicting terms which will cost more in lawyer fees than the cruise cost to settle out. And as I mentioned before, even if they were legally in the wrong to do it, after they returned your money and you to your original cabin what actual damages can be claimed and sued for?
  4. Perhaps you weren’t aware, but almost all Internet access, most likely even the one you have at home, is asynchronous i.e. having faster download speeds than upload speeds. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Basic download speed is faster than the Premium upload speed, much less the Basic upload speed. Of course they do it to make money. Just like they allow better liquors on the Premium package even though they could allow them on the Classic package.
  5. They also sell usb-a to usb-c cables. Harder to lose than the little adapters and not much more expensive.
  6. Wouldn’t doing it online before getting to the port have served as well to thwart the miscreant?
  7. There are eagles around all the time, but the best time for seeing them is later in the year when the salmon are running upstream.
  8. A two hour line would mean that people who got in line at 7:30 would still be in line at 9:30. Barring unusual circumstances, I don’t think that’s ever happened.
  9. One cruise line, I forget which unless it’s celebrity, required to you to remove them day by day, and to give a reason. I assume it was to make it more difficult for the boorish people showing up on the last evening wanting to stiff the help.
  10. Only people doing back to back cruises who are already checked in. Unless federal law has changed Princess has to close its manifest 90 minutes before sailing. I’m expect they’re willing to delay sailing for late arriving Princess buses, I wouldn’t count on them doing it for a few stragglers whose status is unknown. After all, they do want to get into international waters and open the shops, casino, etc. as soon as possible.
  11. We’ll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes; But the plural of ox should be oxen not oxes. One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese, Yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice, But the plural of house is houses, not hice. If the plural of man is always called men, Why shouldn’t the plural of pan be called pen? If I spoke of my foot and showed you my feet, When I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet? If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth, Why shouldn’t the plural of booth be called beeth? If the singular is this, and the plural is these, Why shouldn’t the plural of kiss be kese? Then one may be that, and three would be those, Yet the plural of hat would never be hose. We speak of a brother and also of brethren, But though we say mother, we never say methren. So plurals in English, I think you’ll agree, Are indeed very tricky, singularly.
  12. Generally it’s true, even though there are circumstances where it isn’t.
  13. And there is no real incentive for them to change. Since all mainstream cruise lines have the same policy, for every customer they lose because of it, they gain one from another cruise line.
  14. Celebrity Suite on an E class ship?
  15. Bring some rope, figure out where your cabin is, and just lower it.
  16. Probably because this happens in one out of a thousand (or less) MoveUps, and they have no procedures in place to deal with it, and are just winging it.
  17. Prior to the move up Celebrity had the right to move him to a different cabin. The move up terms clearly state that all the terms of the original booking remain in effect after the move up. Anyway, it seems to me that the crux of the problem is the disparity regarding the damages incurred. I expect Celebrity feels the poster was made whole by refunding his money and returning him to his original cabin, and gave some OBC by way of apology. Meanwhile, the poster has an entirely different view on that topic.
  18. We did that cruise a few years ago, the sea days were mostly glacier/scenery watch days with an expert pointing out things to look at over the intercom. There were also talks, but the highlights of the whole cruise were the National Park and College Fjord.
  19. It was terrible customer service, but I’m not sure how far the law was actually stretched. Generally speaking, Celebrity does have the right to change your cabin, and The MoveUp terms and conditions do state that all terms and conditions of your original booking remain in effect.
  20. Since the original question was about Blu, officially, both Blu and Luminae are smart casual every night. Even though they may try to make you think otherwise. Specialty Restaurants (Including Luminae for our Suite Class guests and Blu for our AquaClass® Guests): The dress code in Celebrity’s Specialty Restaurants is Smart Casual for every night of your cruise. Evening Chic attire is only required in the main dining room on your “Evening Chic nights.”
  21. While each person can bring one 750ml bottle of wine for free, you can bring additional bottles by paying $20/bottle.
  22. I guess we’ll need to bring an extra suitcase.😀

    Haiti

Amber Cove is close to 100 miles from the border with Haiti, a border that the DR patrols pretty well.
  24. There are ones on Oceania, Princess, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, Azamara, and Regent. None on Celebrity. There is a site offering cruises and other Vacations to Go on that has a really good custom search engine.
