  1. Clearly, we dropped the “i” in speciality in order to shorten the word from 5 syllables to 3. 🙂
  2. You're welcome. I have other photos from inside 6118 if you’re interested.
  3. I had the same concerns about the Sky Suites but when I actually sailed, the lifeboat situation didn’t even cross my mind. This is the video I took on embarkation day from my balcony (6118). IMG_8506.mov
  4. I thought the same. The thing I just don’t understand is why the smoothies at the Spa Cafe were never available under the Classic package when the cost is only $5-$6. So weird!
  5. Not quite Emily’s style, but I love the reference.
  6. I’m not sure how long your cruise is. I’d say maybe $20 pp per day. I don’t know how realistic that is not knowing minimum bids.
  7. Yes, in the cruise planner click on the initials in the upper right and you’ll see a drop-down list. Click on Order history and you should see it on the list.
  8. Because our family group is considering a European cruise in summer of 2025, can I ask how the ages are divided? I know one child will be 10 and one will be 13 at the time. I’m guessing that they would be in different groups.
  9. That information is listed in the cruise planner for my Nov Reflection cruise. Under The Alcoves : At Port. I thought it sounded stupid too. Hence the 🙄 emoji.
  10. I’m not sure if this will help at all, but I’ve done 12 Celebrity cruises and only one short Royal cruise, which was chosen by someone else and I joined in on. Plusses on the Royal side: - As an Elite, I enjoyed the perks that Royal’s Diamond tier gave me. I loved the 4 drinks per day wherever and whenever I chose. I’ve never used the 5:00-7:00 drink perk on Celebrity because we’ve always had a drink package provided by a travel agent, through the old 1-2-3 Go promotion, or through a Suite or Aqua Class. - The food on Royal was really really good during my sailing! Things have changed a lot on Celebrity recently, and food is one of those things that is very noticeable. I hear that they’ve changed on Royal too, but I can’t really say that Celebrity is a step above any more. Plusses for Celebrity are the relaxed vibe, the no-smoking casino, the fact that entertainment doesn’t need to be pre-booked, and the overall service snd visibility of officers and department heads. I’m in a situation now where extended family groups are considering a group vacation in summer 2025. Whether a land or cruise vacation hasn’t been decided yet, it’s early days. There will be children in the 9-13 year age group, and whereas I was favoring RC because of what it offers in the way of children’s entertainment, now I’m not sure how much weight that has. European cruises are very port intensive, and between the heat and excursions it feels like everyone will want to chill wind down. I’ve been following several live trip reports, but I’ve mostly just seen the adult point of view.
  11. Could you be thinking of the large table in Murano that’s in a room off of the main section of the restaurant? It may be called the wine cellar or similar because there are wine racks along the wall. I booked this room for a group of eight one time. It’s booked through Murano, and the food choices are from the regular Murano menu.
  12. You’re right, it’s very confusing and misleading. If I was just starting to explore ships for future bookings I’d take what I saw on the official company website as current, factual information. I know they’re proud of the shiny new E Class photos, but they need to be honest about what they have to offer at the current price point so people can make an informed decision.
  13. I’ve been encountering this on and off the past few days. It has self-corrected after a few tries. I think the website has been overwhelmed - combination of the regular weekend woes, plus holiday, plus the sales that have been going on was my guess.
  14. How do they deal with the gratuity if you’re dining with a set credit? Let’s say as an example that the credit is $50 and I spend $45 on food. Is that really $45 plus 18% gratuity so I leave owing money?
  15. The OP saved on cruise fare, and makes a good point to check your booking itself and not just add-ons.
  16. No swimsuits or coverups. You can wear skirt, slacks or jeans with stylish tops. 🙄
  17. Complimentary amenities - four bottles of water, a fresh fruit plate, hand-held fans, and chilled towels. It added that other food and beverages would incur a cost. I was also surprised to read that shorts and tees were not allowed. It doesn’t sound tempting at all!
  18. Yes, it’s very possible. You might want to keep a close eye on prices this November around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We got some very good prices then, too.
  19. I’m not sure, but I purchased a dining package on an upcoming cruise (Reflection, November) and prior to purchasing did the math to see what the price per meal would be with the various packages. Here’s the text I sent my travel companion: 3 night pkg is $42.47 per meal 4 night pkg is $36.87 per meal 5 night pkg is $35.86 per meal Those prices include the gratuity that’s added during checkout. We also cancelled and rebooked an excursion that we booked during the Cyber Monday Sale last November and saved $34. That kind of surprised me.
  20. Are they actually charging the inflated prices on board, or did they pull a number out of a hat?
  21. I'm not sure if I understand your last comments correctly, but if your Move Up bid gets accepted you won’t be able to pay for it with any OBC you have to use up. The Move Up fee will be charged against your CC.
  22. The burger looks fine to me! It needs condiments and for the top bun to be put in place is all.
  23. A very good point. The other family members could book an Oceanview cabin and come to your cabin to enjoy that fabulous balcony with you.
