  1. I love the spice-rubbed ribeye with every ounce of my being.
  2. You are my favorite person today! Quick question, do you recall which night the second Elegant Night falls?
  3. I am so very afraid this is what is going to happen to me. 😬 I sail her in April.
  4. I would love to be able to schedule my morning coffee order in the app. I liked the door-hanger breakfast menus from before because I could get it scheduled and go to bed without having to talk to someone. I know it is silly, but I would much rather use the app than have to make a phone call to order. Instead of morning cabin coffee, I get up and go to the Lido where I can get coffee and not have to talk with anyone. I tip on room service deliveries, I would love to tip for morning coffee. ❤️☕
  5. @chasinraynbowz Thank you for taking the time to write this review!
  6. If you add their booking to your booking, you will have full access to check them in. I have been able to do this for others I cruise with. I just skip the sections for travel documents and onboard spending. I am able to get through it all and get to the arrival time slot together. Then everyone can log in later and complete the parts I skipped. Now we all just set an alarm and all log in at the same time and do our best to get close arrival times. Setting the alarm and doing this has become a part of our travel fun two weeks out. It's less smooth but it is something we can look forward to doing together.
  7. John Heald did a video walk-through of the Jubilee last week. On the desk area (like normal) there were 3 regular outlets and 4 USB outlets. Now that I think about it, I don't recall seeing a European plug-in with the set-up. This next cruise is going to feel so decadent with all those power options. 😉
  8. Although the port itself is not attractive, I have a soft spot for Galveston. On my first cruise, my sister and I saw dolphins taking the boat out. We were on a secret deck (after plenty of pre-cruise research in CC), they were having fun leaping and crossing in front of the ship. My sister called it our "boatercade." We still laugh about that.
  9. We used our birth certificates in April when debarking in Galveston. It was definitely longer than an hour. The price of a passport was added to the cost of my next sailing. 😉 I don't want to ever go through that again, it was brutal.
  10. When we did the Cruise Companions, we were all sat together in the MDR. When I booked the steakhouse, paying for the same number of people that I had listed as my Companions, they did not put us together. I didn't know that until I stopped by the steakhouse on embarkation day to confirm that we were all ready to go. The lady there entered the update in their reservations/seating chart and got up put together.
  11. I think going the phantom second passenger may goof the online check-in. I'm pretty sure we had one in our group that couldn't proceed with the check-in because it was set to check two people in, our friend and a TBD.
  12. The cheesecake with the strawberries on top was absolutely worth the fee if you enjoy cheesecake. It was maybe $3 or $4.
  13. My granddaughter was 9 months-old on her first cruise. Her parents brought on baby food and formula and was able to purchase distilled water ahead of time by calling Carnival for the formula. One our first night in the main dining room, we requested to have mashed potatoes so she could eat a bit while we placed our order. The wait staff had potatoes ready for her every evening when we sat down. She had a wonderful time and we enjoyed the week with her. My grandson was six-months on his first cruise. Again, his parents brought his food and formula, ordering the distilled water ahead of time. We were able to get fruit for him to put into the little mesh teether thing throughout the week. He had a wonderful time. The biggest take-away we had was to pack more diapers and formula than you think you will need. You don't want the panic that comes with running low on either of these items. 😳 (parents first stop was Walmart on the way home)
  14. I believe they can add more as the cruise nears but it depends on the number of diamond and platinum cruisers that are booked for your sailing. I check my cruise daily in the hopes that I can snag a spot. ☺️
  15. I bought a single European adapter. I unplug one of the lamps behind the head of the bed and plug my machine into the adapter plug in that spot. I lose one lamp but there is no cord strung across the room. The first time I sailed with my CPAP, the room steward brought an extension cord and taped it down.

  17. I loved FTTF when it rolled out. You were able to get on early, your stateroom was ready, priority Guest Services, priority tendering. That was all for $49 per cabin. So I decided that since my room wouldn't be ready until 1:30 and I had no tender excursions, I didn't need to spend the money. Cue massive regrets. Our group drives to our port. This was the first time I had an aft cabin (it was recommended and I loved it). Half of our car group were in the first muster station to be called to debark. I was in the last one. Include that with the fact that I have always sailed with a birth certificate (I already have my passport application prepped), my friends waited at the car for 2 1/2 hours for me to get off. If I had just parted with the $129, I would have been home at least 2 hours earlier. They were super gracious and gave me no grief at all but I still felt terrible. So, since I love sailing aft, I will be getting the FTTF if I can until I hit Platinum.
  18. The doors are magnetic but not strong. The magnets I saw were all the really strong ones. Several people used the strong hook magnets and just unscrewed the hooks from the bases. The panel to the side with the mail slot held magnets much better, we put our decorations there.
  19. Does anyone happen to know which kind of stateroom safe the Vista has? I have tried searching and I have struck out. Do they have the keypad or the swipe/card type?
  20. I was able to receive calls from other iPhones. When I had a Samsung, I could receive calls from other Samsung devices through the Google Hangouts app. I did not have regular cell service but I could keep in contact with family that had like devices.
  21. I have been able to go to the steakhouse on every ship I've sailed on that had one beginning in 2010 through this last October. The price has steadily increased over the years but I still feel that it is a fair price for the meal I get. If you see the price and feel that you can fit that in your budget, you may find yourself as happy as I always am with you experience. Note, one visit I had lousy service but the food was so wonderful, we were able to go again near the end of the cruise and we had great service. We didn't tell the server about our previous poor service, she was just great all on her own.
  22. Since our first cruise, my family has always used lanyards. I spent several cruises searching for fun lanyards that match the pop culture tastes of each family member and now we all have several to choose from. It's fun gift giving before the cruise and they get to enjoy having fun lanyards. Here are just a few that I have found: Goonies Gilmore Girls - Luke's Diner Wonder Woman OU Football Aristocats The Office Minnie Mouse Grey's Anatomy My Hero Academia Beauty and the Beast Mary Poppins Star Wars
  23. I did the YouTube videos with my six year-old granddaughter, she loved them. There is a countdown on my phone, whenever she is with me she asks to look to see how many days we have left, she loves that simple thing. On a side note, when she was 5, I packed her a set of Barbie dolls that she didn't know about. I surprised her when we were unpacking on the ship. She spent most of the time that we spent in the cabin playing with those dolls. It was fun to see and listen to her play with them. I think we only turned on cartoons once the entire week.
  24. @mjkacmom If the child is assigned to the parents' room, I don't think that would be an issue. Since my grandchild was assigned to my stateroom, I believe I would have had to get off of the boat with her so she could go on an excursion that included her parents. If she and I got off together, her parents could have stayed on the boat with no issue.
