  1. The generosity and frequency of the offers have declined dramatically over the past 18 months. As the ships are sailing fuller there is no longer the need to fill up the cabins with casino offers. There is alot of Holland America Casino Players on a site that I am not allowed to mention here. There is much more robust information on casino offers and the tricks needed to obtain better casino offers.
  2. THAT entity is Carnival Casino Division which is under the Carnival Corporate umbrella. This I know as I have been sailing on HAL casino invites since 2007.
  3. Exactly...It is all under the same corporate umbrella. If they were outsourced they would triple their income.
  4. Everyone now has the same boarding time now at 12pm. There are no longer separate boarding times. Maybe HAL feels with everyone checking in early and consequently boarding early they could not handle the influx of pax wanting to eat in the MDR on embarkation day,
  5. There was bar soap on the NSDM last week. I was in a Neptune Suite though if that makes a difference.
  6. Mine shows the 25% discount. If I could figure out how to get the screenshot here I would post it
  7. You need to click on the wording and you will the 25% discount.
  8. I am on the NS now and the NAV app still shows the 25% discount.
  9. I'd be willing to bet that a drink that is requested that is not on the menu is probably not in the HAL POS system. This means the bartender will choose a different drink that is in the POS system and charge the customer for the price of that drink. I am sure these bartenders make hundreds of drinks a day and can not remember what drink he used to charge the customer the day before. Hence the discrepancy's.
  10. From HAL's perspective it is a win win, The casino division pays HAL for the cabin. Granted it's not full price but appears to be 75% of the cabin rate. Many pax on cruise offers upgrade their cabins so there is additional revenue for HAL.
  11. You pay up front and are credited onboard. I have done it that way several times.
  12. The main issue is that the boarding passes do not indicate priority boarding like they did in the past.
  13. There is no confusion. HAL used to assign letter groups at 20 minute intervals. That is no longer the case. Everyone now has a noon check in time.
  14. It appears HAL has changed their check in process with everyone showing a noon time. Even those with priority boarding. Anyone have a clue how this is working out so far?
  15. The generosity of the email offers has declined significantly over the past 6 months as the ships are sailing much fuller. Also the amount of emails being sent are declining. A year ago I would have said wait for an email. Not so much today.
  16. The Rotterdam has the Coke Freestyle machine. It's either deck 9 or deck 10 midship.
  17. It's like the bear chasing a group of people. I don't have to be the fastest runner. I just can't be the slowest. It boils down to pax knowing and accepting their limitations. Go in groups and leave the bling on the ship.
  18. There is quite the difference. Many of HAL's demographic will stick out like a sore thumb in Jamaica. We will be in Jamaica Mar 3rd on the NS. I don't have an issue getting off the ship but I will be with 3 LEO's that are in their early 30's and I will look like a bum. Ratty T-shirt and shorts, no watch, my phone will remain in it's case under my ratty t-shirt and just to show the real loser I am I will wear my Blackhawks cap. There will be many more inviting targets.
  19. Kansas City is the 10th most dangerous city in America. Chicago does not make the top 10. Birningham, AL, Detroit, MI and Memphis, TN are the top 3.
  20. I am in no way shape or form sticking up for the poster but at least he claimed to have a bad experience. I have pax on embarkation day at guest services removing tips and they haven't been on the ship an hour. And I highly doubt it was because they were leaving cash tips.
  21. Cruise Line's Private Islands in Bahamas To Lose Tax-Free Status (msn.com)
  22. Being a diabetic myself I can assure there is always a sugar free offering at the dessert bar in the lido. And there is usually a sugar free ice cream offered at the ice cream bar in the lido also.
