  1. Currently on the Edge in a celebrity suite. Luminae is open for lunch only on sea days. There are few choices. The first day they did serve a lobster roll that bore no resemblance to former ones. Two small pieces mixed in with greens. After not finding anything to our liking in main courses we have booked with our generous OBC specialty restaurants for most of the nights. Last night Eden was very good. Lobster casserole outstanding as was the gnocchi . the always available in Luminae is best bet. escargot, onion soup, caesar salad. Once they had a really delicious Bibb lettuce with pine nuts. But the mains are a real disappointment. The cannelloni bore no resemblance to anything Italian. And you can’t order from the MDR as it’s too far away
  2. We are on the Connie with family to Greece This June. That would be terrible.
  3. Yes. But I think it is a mistake.. the food was mediocre and you still have to pay out of pocket for the milkshake. We took the Breakaway out of New York and the diner is outside and freezing.
  4. Celebrity suite. Jess ( Butler) removed the rocking chair ( I tripped over it twice) took one chair front the balcony to replace it. And brought me a lounge. I’m in Heaven. Great service.
  5. Good news. They put up four gigantic umbrellas on the sundeck. Still plenty of sunny spots but at least those of us that need shade have a shot. Bad news, lobster roll had two little bites of lobster. Good news, they promised to remove the rocking chair, after I tripped over it twice and they are giving me a lounge chair on my balcony. The two concierges Alexandra and Yullie both from Ukraine are lovely and helpful. Casino looks great .
  6. Just boarding the Edge for Caribbean. The App asks vaccination status and if you are boostered. Also you need to affirm that in the last 24 hours you have not been sick ( fever, sore throat, congestion etc). Otherwise we have passports and printed x-press passes ( also on phone). Then watch the safety video ( takes 30 seconds) also on app.
  7. Terminal 25. Signs for retreat to drop off luggage but police waved us away. We walked back. Terminal is gorgeous. Check in is in the retreat lounge similar to RCCL suite check in. No lines. They come to you. They took new photos. We watched the safety video on our phones. Lavish snacks. Our check in was 11 and we arrived around 10:30 and were ushered in.
  8. Boarding in 15 minutes. Happy to answer any questions.
  9. The key is that there were other family members and you had a great time. Maybe the rest of the ship offered more for those family members. We have sailed Regent which I found boring and Oceania ( good food and itineraries ( loved our cruise to Cuba) but now cruise NCL Haven and Celebrity Retreat. I love the Casinos and especially NCL entertainment. That’s what makes horse racing . Every time we eat in the Haven restaurant we found the food pretty good to very good and the service excellent. They were very accommodating. We like to eat early and make the early show and then have dessert after. No problem.
  10. Tried the app but it said “no plan’s available “. Maybe too early, cruise is in September.
  11. Booked through the casino and got the “free balcony cabin”. Upgraded to a mini ( that was as high as they let me go). It came with no perks except for free play and my deposit turns into onboard credit once onboard. Went on the website to add WiFi. We don’t drink alcohol and saw only two options. One includes drinks, tips and exercise ( don’t make me laugh) and one , is a fortune that includes additional garbage. Am I out of luck. My husband will go nuts. Can I call and add it for him or maybe once onboard. Please let me know. Thanks
  12. My phone uses AT&T. You can go on their website and book for $50 their cruise package. Talk and text for a month. They have a list of all the ships covered including NCL, Celebrity and Princess. I do it every cruise. We have used the phone multiple times in the past for family emergency and doctor calls. Once my husband broke a tooth in Japan and we called from Tokyo to book an appointment for the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend . We drove right from the airport to the office. If we didn’t have phone coverage ……
  13. I too bring a ton of medical. But I always have. Especially important now that the ships don’t sell you even Tylenol without seeing the doctor. We bring Tylenol, Advil, Aleve , thermometer, bandaids, cortisone cream, bacitracin, pepto in chewable and , liquid, Bonine, Glyoxide, Aquaphor, Zyrtec-D, Benadryl, Chestall ( a great homeopathic cough medicine) and Chloroseptic throat lozenges. Just in case.
  14. We have been on three Celebrity cruises, two NCL cruises, a RCCL cruise, two American cruise line cruises and one long Princess cruise since start up. We are triple vaccinated and boostered. I wear a mask in the airport and on the plane and in the casino ( especially if people are blowing smoke) . To our knowledge, we have not gotten Covid. I’m a little nervous when I go anywhere but we are well into our 70s and I don’t want to miss my favorite thing in the whole world ( except my grandkids). We are taking one set in February on NCL from NY to Bahamas and the other to Greece in June on the Celebrity Constellation. Everyone in our extended family has had Covid despite Being fully vaccinated. The ten year old got walloped last month with combo Covid and flu. I think this is the world now, and with reasonable protection we can still enjoy life.
  15. We are staying at the Niche Hotel with a view of the acropolis and walking distance of the old town restaurants.
  16. Why do people do anything. Once on a Princess ship the whole line was out for a day because they were used somewhere along the line.
  17. They will go bonkers if you use flushable wipes
  18. We are on Celebrity Constellation in June to Greece. We have three concierge cabins in a row. My son and Daughter-in-law are in the middle one and it connects to the one on their left. When I booked I was told that this was the only way my grandkids could be in the separate cabin legally. ( what you choose to do after boarding is up to you. But this way the two adults have the liquor package and the kids 17 and 15 have the soda package with no problem.
  19. When the shoreside concierge contacts you they will definitely make your specialty restaurant reservations for your group. And you can have anyone you want in your room. You aren’t in the Haven proper so why not. Your butler will be very happy to plan a party and will give you a list of what’s possible. Please give him a nice tip.
