  1. I didn't miss that. As I said earlier, FAQ answers are not binding but are merely interpretations of the Terms and Conditions. Granted the author of the FAQ works (I hope) for Princess but the Terms and Conditions take precedence over FAQs.
  2. I'll test it on the 28th when I'll be paying for our next trip which includes EZ Air. It's interesting as I read the complete terms and conditions which are silent on the subject of EZ Air as well as Land Tours. They do have a list of items for which they can be used and that includes a Princess Booking. Could one argue that EZ Air is part of your booking? When I look up my booking number it shows both the cruise fare and the travel fare. FAQs are only interpretations of the Ts&Cs. Anyway, as I said above, we'll find out for sure in a few days.
  3. You aren't always on your own for meals during the land portion of your trip. It really depends on what level of Cruisetour you've booked. For instance if you book the Connoisseur Escorted tour you'll get breakfast or lunch every day and dinner every day. Other Cruisetours are very basic and you can be on your own. YMMV Now for formal nights, we were just on the Royal Princess June 4 voyage from Whittier to Vancouver. IIRC, the first formal night was the second day of the voyage and the last formal night was the second to last night.
  4. Yep, look for one of the most expedited repair jobs you'll ever see.
  5. I can hear the background music now from The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" - Meet the new net, same as the old net...
  6. I understand most if not all of the dedicated quarantine cabins have balconies.
  7. The definition of far and near foreign ports is pretty explicit in the law and it doesn't depend on how far the port is from any particular part of the United States. I won't argue about what you experienced (how could I?) but will leave you with this document from Customs and Border Patrol. It's a good summary of what we should know (and more) about the PVSA. I note there is some ambiguous language about it pertaining to the United States and within so far of the continental shelf. However it does discuss territories (Hawaii was a territory at the time the law was written). Your points are well made that it can be done if Princess chooses to do so. I suppose what I'm getting at is there will be time when Princess will not to allow booking a particular combination of cruises and times when they will decide not to allow one to join a ship at a later port. 8. Well, yes it is a violation. Round trips (start and end ports are the same) on non-US flagged vessels may visit a near foreign port to satisfy PVSA requirements. However, boarding in Hawaii and disembarking in Los Angeles makes the journey a point-to-point and then a far foreign port is required to satisfy the PVSA. Ensenada is not a far foreign port. And ... sorry, didn't mean to come across so strongly in my previous post! Shouldn't have used the CAPS.
  9. The Jones Act is NEVER an issue for passengers. The Jones Act has to do with cargo. It's the PVSA that's a concern for us cruisers.
  10. Unless you were booked round-trip back to Vancouver it's very unlikely you'd have been allowed to board in Juneau as that would be a violation of the Passenger Vessel Services Acts (PVSA for short).
  11. That happened to us on the Royal on her June 4 sailing. It was only the previous day being repeated though. Chose not to watch it again...
  12. I agree. It will not handle a WaterPik type appliance though. We have a travel size one and even that small one is too much for the bathroom socket. For this we have a long extension cord that we bring out only when using the WaterPik. Also, IIRC, the socket in the bathroom will not handle polarized plugs. These are the plugs where one blade is slightly wider than the other.
  13. You can speak for yourself and probably some others but not for everyone on this one. We absolutely love the free laundry perk and that's what's keeping us on Princess. Lose that and we'll be checking elsewhere.
