  1. That's essentially correct. You don't have to ship tag the TOUR bag until your last day.
  2. Marinetraffic.com has her in the Red Sea heading for Singapore.
  3. It's nice we both have iPhones and can use iMessage with the Internet. He must be staying up later ... it's his third of five legs on the Island Princess.
  4. The Island Princess is currently cruising in the Baltic heading for Riga, Latvia.
  5. Got an answer: Masks are required in the dining rooms (maybe the buffets too?) as you walk in and out but not while seated. Masks are suggested in elevators. Other venues will require masks from time to time and signs will be posted.
  6. Really depends on the cruise. In Alaska where there are lots of new cruisers, and now with ships running at a little more than half-full, the disembarkation lounge was pretty much empty.
  7. I have a friend on board who is not in Cruise Critic. We've been texting now and then. I just asked him but it's late over there and he's an early bird. Hopefully we'll have an answer soon.
  8. On our Cruisetour that began on May 26 we found this to be no longer true. We were allowed multiple bags per person on the land tour if we wished.
  9. Yes, you first take all your suitcases to the hotel. Bags will be separated before you depart your first lodge/hotel. You will need your ship bag tags for all your bags. You will also be given two sets of tags, one labeled "Meet Me At the Ship" and the other labeled "Meet Me Tonight". There's a third set of tags you use for transport of your bags to the next lodge. They will be given to you upon arrival to the previous lodge. On the very last day of the land tour you will attach the ship bag tags to your remaining bags. On our tour the director took the ship cabin-specific tags and did a great job of attaching them to cover a lodge tag. Very tough and no worries about them getting detached.
  10. We're hopefully heading out on AA in two days. So far flights are showing ok. Just noticed though that same flights yesterday were canceled. 😱 Told DW that we should be mentally prepared for an adventure as well as carrying a change of clothes in our carry-ons. At least we are arriving at our destination without any significant time constraint. Staying vigilant
  11. That's what we did. DW and I each got the five $500 cards over two months for $10,000. They're all spent so we still need more for our next cruises.
  12. Reporting back in after using mega-gift cards to pay for a B2B2B with EZair at both ends. Results are inconclusive. My TA said he's never had a problem using gift cards for EZair but ... we didn't have enough gift cards to cover everything so I can't tell if they worked or not. Regardless, we maxed out our allocation with the discount provider for June and July. We'll start stocking up next month if they're still available. What a deal!
  13. Agree both the lodges and the Royal Princess have hairdryers. The Royal Princess hides them in a drawer by the desk. Enjoy the CruiseTour. If you get Greg Santanna as a Tour Director you're in for a treat. We had him on our tour at the end of May. Really knows his stuff and his demeanor is perfect for a TD.
  14. RRA (aft) should require tendering as it's the aft part of the dock that's damaged at its forward end. It's too dangerous to move passengers past the damage as rocks are still coming down off the mountainside.
  15. Guest Services has in the past, accepted written letters to the captain. A note pretty much saying what you just said (not the plebs part) about your 10 year old just might get a nice response. It's worth a try.
  16. I suggest you take a look at the region-specific boards for Europe: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/8-europe/
  17. I understand the frustration. IIRC Princess opens the "office" at 9AM Pacific Time. If you're in NY as your info states, call at noon and hopefully the wait time will be shorter.
  18. Some of them (not all) come via FedEx. If you've signed up with FedEx online you can be notified of all packages bound for you. That's how we've known about our previous Medallion deliveries. Princess never sent us any messages. BTW, all our deliveries have come from Singapore.
  19. They don't always know if you've watched the video. Last cruise on the Royal - June 4, we were both in the cabin, had our medallions and watched the video while unpacking. Went down to the muster station and checked in there. We were told there we hadn't watched the video. So, we watched it again in the cabin and still received a letter from the captain saying we hadn't watched the video! In the letter was a summary of all the information from the video as well. That was the end of it. I suppose their delivery of the letter was enough to satisfy their requirements.
  20. It gets confusing here as even Princess uses language that isn't consistent. FCC - Future Cruise Credit as used by Princess means the $100 you spend for a Future Cruise Deposit (FCD) along with OBC (On Board Credit) that varies depending on your cruise length and type of stateroom selected. The $100 deposit is applied to your booking as part of the total cruise fare. You can use it for any type of fare, basic, Plus or Premiere (not sure if there's an 'e' at the end or not). Are you asking about the OBC (on board credit) that comes with the FCC? If that's the case, yes, in advance that OBC can be used to book excursions but not for transfers and isn't applicable to the packages. Once on board, any remaining OBC is a credit to your shipboard account and you can pretty much pay for anything with it, even the casino.
  21. You can look up your unused FCCs on the personalizer. This includes both assigned and unassigned ones. When you hover your mouse over the "Log in / Register" drop down (if not yet logged in) otherwise hover over the "My Account" drop down and you will have an option to go to Future Cruise Credits. There you'll see what Princess thinks the status is.
  22. I used to be a runner and thought I was a Thoroughbred. Turns out I was a Clydesdale ...
  23. The title of this thread says Fort Lauderdale.
