  1. The buffets on the other ships get as much flack as the MDRs. You haven’t experienced a buffet on the other ships recently. They are not good. Nowhere as many choices as on Arvia.
  2. You say you spend little time eating as you are on your way to some other entertainment. We enjoy a leisurely meal as it is part of our cruise experience as is enjoying time on our balcony whereas you want inside cabins. Totally different ideas of what we want on a cruise. The Cruise is the main part of holiday seeing the water etc not the entertainment. We would always visit the MDR over the buffet. The lack of proper seated restaurants puts us off Arvia.
  3. It seems Arvia has a very improved buffet, Iona as well probably. Let’s hope they roll this out to the other ships but I doubt it.
  4. Yes those Arvia buffet menus look good but they are nothing like what are on other ships where getting a decent salad is nowhere. What other P&O ship have you been on recently.
  5. Arvia certainly has a different and better buffet than on other ships. A great improvement. But they do seem to need it as there is not enough room to eat in the MDRs
  6. You can have any combination you like off of the menu in the MDR and I am always polite. Ask for side salad or extra vegetables no problem. Two desserts fine.
  7. In a word yes. Restrictive lanes and speed limits earlier in year.
  8. Do you think you would get any acknowledgment from P&O in the same circumstances?
  9. Totally in the shade on E deck. Totally in the open on D deck.
  10. It is at the harbour by the Museum of Civilizations/Fort St Jean
  11. I was happy to lose the silver service and mismatched vegetables once on P&O but still like waiter service and tablecloths. This I can see is now seemed outdated by newer cruisers and I shall have to chose my cruise ships carefully.
  12. Malta is an independent island in the Mediterranean. Not Spanish
  13. Are you confusing Malta with Malaga
  14. I agree that MDR meals are not so good now. But at least you get service. Anywhere with service is good for us.
  15. Nice for a quick meal or breakfast but not for elegant dining.
  16. People book to go to chefs table as they know they have a table whereas they might not get in at the MDR
  17. We were on MSC Preziosa and visited the Botanical Gardens which were very good. We passed through the place where the Death in Paradise police station etc is but did not stop. We also visited other nice places.
  18. We have a Ninja 15. Does everything. We rarely use the oven or hob now. Just the Ninja and microwave.
  19. They have several different restaurants at which to dine.
  20. Elite can book dining from when they book cruise, anyone else after final payment date. If you want to eat at 7.30 I would pre book tables on the app but you can just turn up at the restaurant.
  21. Yes but that is what you paid for. On P&O you pay for an MDR service. I would pick a hotel with service.
