  1. We have cruised from the East Coast to Bahamas many times in Feb. and March. The first day and as half was a bit chilly. Have traveled to Bermuda many times, but only 3 times in February. Remember it’s not the Caribbean, but it’s a nice time to visit for golf, tennis, sightseeing. Usually it was about 60-65 degrees.
  2. We are booked for our 27th cruise this Sept. We’ve been cruising since the late 80’s, early 90’s. Started with Cunard, then Celebrity, RCCL, NCL and Carnival. In Feb. 2020, we decided to try RCCL again on Grandeur out of Baltimore. We were on RCCL’s Empress of the Seas years ago. To be honest, cruising today is not like it was when we took our earlier cruises. For us, the Grandeur was very nice, but not much different from our Carnival Pride cruise in Dec. 2019. I liked the food on Carnival a little better, I wasn’t crazy about the buffet seating/layout on RCCL, and the Grandeur was pretty quiet after 10P.M., except in the casino. These were minor differences for us. Loved our junior suite on Grandeur. Would we book RCCL again, absolutely. A cruise today is just a mode of transportation from one location to another, geared specifically to families at least on NCL, RCCL, Carnival. Give RCCL a try; I think you’ll find it pretty much the same as others you noted. We like the older, smaller ships, but next year, I’ll leave DH at home, and try a girl’s cruise on Anthem.
  3. We usually do Park & Cruise package when cruising from Baltimore, but for our next cruise we wanted to use a car/limo service. Does anyone have any suggestions from Philly suburbs (west Chester area). Thanks in advance.
  4. Thanks, in 25 years of cruising, I never saw that.
  5. I was just watching the Bermuda webcam and saw what looked like all of the Joy crew lined up boarding the ship. Passengers appeared to be getting off the ship as usual, but we’ve been on 26 cruises and never saw the crew lined up off of the ship. Is that some sort of drill? Just curious.
  6. I have a mobility scooter that I have been using on our cruises since 2007. We book a standard balcony cabin and my scooter fits very easily. I park in front of the sofa and we have plenty of room. My scooter also comes apart in 5 pieces so I knew DH could take it apart if necessary, but we never had to do that. He does remove the armrests from the scooter when we cruise, to make it easier to drive into the cabin, As far as fitting a scooter into a cabin with 3 people, I think it would be tight. If it’s foldable though it might work with that number of people, but you would most likely want to have something other than an interior cabin. I use my cane to get around in cabin while scooter is parked and it’s easy. I also have a foldable scooter (luggie) which I don’t like, but I think it would definitely fit through the cabin door and in front of the cabin sofa. Hope you can figure out something and have fun on your cruise.
  7. I started using my scooter when cruising about 9 years ago. The best advice I can give are the following tips: -Notify guest services that you will be using the scooter so everyone is aware in case of an emergency. -We book Aft standard balcony cabins. That way we can use the Aft elevators with less traffic. I always let folks go before me if it’s crowded, which is rare on those elevators. I’m not in a rush, I’m on vacation.🙂 -Wait until the last 5 min. or so to get to Dining room, instead of waiting in a long line until doors open. Our waiters have always taken my scooter away in the dining room and brought it back after dinner. -I have never run into any problems with the scooter. Everyone has been helpful. Do be aware of folks that may not see you while they are texting while walking. Sometimes you’ll need to stop quickly. Above all, enjoy your cruise!
  8. Just to clarify, I used the term “scooter folks” as a description of folks who use scooters, not a derogatory term. Believe me, we’ve been referred to as far worse than that.
  9. I have taken my mobility travel scooter on 7 cruises. It has always fit through the cabin doorway with no problem. We always book a standard balcony cabin. It also fit nicely inside the cabin with room to spare. Our last cruise we had our first junior suite which was also great with the scooter. If you rent from a scooter rental company, they already know the cabin doorway dimensions. As another poster noted, an HC cabin is for those folks who might need roll-in showers, maybe a little more room, etc. Rent the travel scooter through one of the reliable companies, and you’ll have no worries at all. Enjoy your cruise. BTW, one more thing, we scooter folks know the rules about not leaving our scooters in the hallways and all the important safety rules that apply. I do wish sometimes though that the cruise line would enforce the rules about that.
  10. Carnival Legend 6 days Baltimore to Bermuda May 22, 2022 $1158 total for 2, incl. vacation protection and Gratuities plus $200 OBC. A standard balcony cabin. We canceled recently and rebooked for later in the year.🙁
  11. Bermuda is one of my favorite places to visit; been there many times. We were booked for the 22 May Legend cruise and we paid the $80 about 1 1/2 weeks ago. A day later, I rescheduled the cruise to December. Too stressful for me. DH disappointed, but now we have two rescheduled cruises to look forward to; Sept. & Dec. To those of you sailing on May 22, have a great time, and if it’s your first time in Bermuda, I think you’ll like it a lot. Have a Rum Swizzle or a Dark & Stormy for me. Happy sailing.
  12. We booked the same cabin on the Carnival Pride a number of times, but the last two times PVP said we could book the same cabin (cat. 8A standard balcony), but it was for 4 and if they needed it, they would move us. We booked a different cabin.
