  1. Unfortunately, we learned that on our second cruise. If there is a problem on the ship you need to address it with the persons that have responsibility for the problem while you are on the cruise. The ship or corporate seem to have little interest in correcting things after the fact. ☺️
  2. Leonard looks like he is horrified that you changed the thermostat to icebox cold! 😀 Bobby used to do that when he escaped and then found it was raining. All of a sudden panic at the wet and a fast run back inside. Unfortunately, he was always trying to sneak out, because of his upbringing. It is nice not to have to worry about open doors now. (in a sad way)
  3. You will have to post after pictures, too. Because I don't quite understand. How do they push the refrigerator down? And which wall? ☺️
  4. We worked with CBP at SFO for a training. It was amazing how many people were asked repeatedly about prohibited items, denied it repeatedly, and they were fined on the spot when it was found. And then they wanted their stuff back...because they had paid. 🙄 The weirdest one was the guy with the cooked, large, entire iguana in his suitcase with his clothes. It was in a plastic bag, and legal, because it was cooked, but still...eeww ☺️
  5. You can have your Diamond benefits on a printout at the machine on any bar. If the first person you ask doesn't know how to do it, ask them to ask someone else or one of the Bar Managers. You also should have received a letter in your stateroom. I have not cruised on Anthem, though.
  6. Retirees are invited to the holiday party and elephant gift exchange on Monday. I bought this, on sale, $22.99: Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022 release) | With bigger vibrant sound, helpful routines and Alexa | Deep Sea Blue https://www.amazon.com/All-New-release-Smart-speaker-Charcoal/dp/B09B93ZDG4/ref=cs_sr_dp_2?crid=GHE3P7QDWW9K&keywords=echo+dot&qid=1701831476&sprefix=echo+dot%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-1 The luncheon is at the Cheesecake Factory this year. Ours is not exactly a White Elephant gift exchange, because there is stealing involved. So, we try to purchase things that others will like. Personally...I like chocolates and those large Ferrero Rocher gift packs for a small after dinner dessert. But CA likes tech. People who already have an Echo may want another and people that don't, may want to try one. We love our Google mini. ☺️
  7. Absolutely horrible. I had an earache the night before a 9-night cruise out of New Orleans. It was progressively worse on the plane the next day. We had dinner with my in-laws and by the next day we walked down to Urgent Care. The doctor said, "That is an angry ear" . and put me on antibiotics, Mucinex and ibuprofen. And then we boarded the next day. The first full day of the cruise, I woke up with Shingles blisters on half my face, in my mouth and severe ear pain. Went to medical, fortunately he had acyclovir, and more ibuprofen. Missed at least 3 days of the cruise with warm compresses on my face. Came home and went to regular doctor. He gave me something for nerve pain, that I couldn't tolerate, and more antibiotics for my ear. Finally went to ENT, who correctly diagnosed a shingles lesion on my eardrum. He said I was lucky I didn't lose my hearing and didn't have any scarring. My hearing test was fine. And he prescribed a couple of weeks of a steroid, which finally cleared it up. It was the most miserable experience. This fall, I have had shots for RSV, flu and then Covid on Thursday. Maybe January, I will start the Shingles vaccines.
  8. Our friends just called us this evening to tell us that. He had liver cancer, for about 11 months. We loved Matt Yee and spent some time with him. Our friends spent more time with him and his partner. That is very sad. He was such a great guy, and so funny, friendly and entertaining. He will be sorely missed. One of the best Schooner Bar and comedy show entertainers ever! 😌
  9. It is hard to know what to do with our beloved pets. I hope he doesn't have the new respiratory virus. Dogs that have it seem to go downhill very quickly. You have a week. We were away for 2 weeks in March, and while our neighbor pet sitter tried his best, our cat was in bad shape from irregular medication doses when we got home. He lasted until September. It is hard to know what to do. Just like with a family member. Maybe ask your vet if they know of a vet tech that you could pay to pet sit?
  10. That is so cool! Bon Voyage and have a wonderful trip! You are so adventurous and have the best cruises. I am envious if we weren't trying to pack up so much sh**, stuff. ☺️
  11. I wouldn't believe them about the 3 days. When I called them about ours, it hadn't even been issued, and I had to fax the letter to them . There should be a phone # on the letter you received to call about it. Ours had a year expiration date, but we were able to apply it to a cruise 2 years in advance, which was then cancelled by the virus. But we were able to use it on a cruise after that. So yes. If you already have a cruise booked, you should be able to apply it to that one. Give it a few weeks and then call the phone number.
  12. The vet sent us a lovely handwritten card and a little Bobby memorial card today with some of his fur and a paw print. It is kind of sad, but nice.
  13. There are so many things I don't know. But I appreciate all of your posts, just so I can learn new things. My apologies if this is annoying. I couldn't figure out Why, there was a Miami University in Ohio? Affiliation: Miami is an Ohio public university. History: Founded in 1809, Miami University bears the name of the Myaamia people whose homelands are here in the Miami Valley.
  14. No. I don't remember that at all. It sounds horrible. The ship's physician wanted me to get off in Key West and go to a doctor, when I came down with Shingles onboard. I refused. He had the same anti-viral and antibiotics that I would have received onshore. and I just wanted to go back to bed. I had Travel Insurance, and they paid for the onboard medical. I had DH get me some heat wraps at CVS in Key West. They worked okay, with a damp wash cloth. While I stayed in bed for 3 days.
  15. I dislike watching the Super Bowl on cruises, and we have accidentally done it twice on booked cruises. I don't usually care much about the teams, but I really enjoy the SB commercials, and they don't show them! You get this same ESPN, or whomever promo, every few minutes. I am going to try and avoid it in the future.
  16. @Biker19 suggested using the eraser tool in "MS Paint", and it works really well. ☺️
  17. Am I the only one that didn't know what a "close" meant? My first thought was closet, with the t missing, which would have been even worse. ☺️ [ C ] UK uk. /kləʊs/ us. /kloʊs/ a road, usually with private houses, that vehicles can only enter from one end: He lives at 83 Barker Close.
