  1. Bonnie. I'm not Dave, but I have a couple of questions. May I ask why you chose Medigap Plan N, instead of G or even C, which provide more coverage? They include some out of the country care. And secondly, are you trying to switch from an Advantage Plan which usually includes your part D drug coverage? Medigap needs an individual Part D. Aren't you penalized by trying to add Part D at a later date? A friend had some questions, so I was just curious about the decision process. Thanks. Just catching up.☺️
  2. And without further cluttering up the World Cruise thread, I would like to thank you all for your toilet advice! 😄(As odd as that sounds). With the best of intentions for frequent visits to the other house, we were tied up for some time with mom's cats and their medical issues. The first time it was Grey Kittyy and fluid therapy. We left the toilet lids down, and all of the toilets had nasty black mold in the bowls when we able to return in 8 months. And then the next time, we left the lids up, and didn't have the mold problem. And we don't seem to have an evaporation problem. Then Bobby was sick, so that was another 3 months. And they were kind of grungy. We went up in October, with every intention of going back in November. I left the faucet on drip, because we have a flat rate water bill, so the pipes won't freeze. Thankfully. And then car and more home renovation stuff happened. I don't know when we will get back up. But I am going to try putting a little bleach in them and maybe plastic wrap next time. I appreciate the information. ☺️
  3. LOL. Bill didn't want Timmy on his truck making scratches. (He is really picky about the cars) Early on, he went out and tried spraying him with the garden hose in mist mode...and Timmy made such god-awful shrieking, screaming and flapping noises that all of the nearby neighbors came out of their homes to see what animal was being tortured. 😄☺️ Bill was really embarrassed and turned off the water and slunk back inside. Timmy just shook himself off and looked smug. And stayed on the truck. We just gave up after that and he buffed any scratches out. He was a funny bird. ☺️
  4. We loved Timmy. He hung out with us for about a year and half before he was apparently hit by a car. There was a minor car accident on our street, and the firemen/paramedics showed up. Timmy loved trucks and he was standing in between us, gobbling the whole time they were working. A couple of the firemen walked over and asked if he was a pet, and did we feed him? We said no. They asked if we could pet him, we said no. He is a wild turkey. He used to sleep on the neighbor's upstairs balcony railing. Timmy. Thinking the garbage truck is chasing him down the sidewalk. It is pretty funny. Make sure your sound is on, if you want to hear him gobble: https://video.nest.com/clip/1863cf05ea7a4f8283f18e0e42aaa5b4.mp4
  5. I didn't know. We didn't arrive until noon last few times. DH went and got tickets, and they called our tender number around 2:30. 😛 It seemed sort of slow to me. But it is not as though we haven't been to Cabo before. 🙄 I apologize for the question about a larger ship. Interesting that Quantum tenders in many other ports. Thanks for the replies.
  6. It should be easy. They are one-hour blocks of time. Most people choose the earliest. To be perfectly honest, most ports don't pay much attention to check in times anymore.
  7. I don't know. Someone who has stayed in a suite on the Oasis Class ships, would know better than I. ☺️
  8. I know Sue, but aren't there a lot more people. It is a pretty slow process, even on Navigator.
  9. I've never seen a wild turkey with that coloration. That's cool! Thanks for sharing the photo and video. ☺️
  10. Would Ovation be able to tender everyone in Cabo, though? I don't know what capacity is on Quantum class ships. ☺️
  11. But I don't think they count vouchers in the Suite Lounge during Happy Hour?
  12. And I finally got my car back today from the body shop after the little bump. The repair went from $4000 to $6000. According to the paperwork, they had to recalibrate the eye sight cameras. As @George C can probably confirm, Subaru Outback's have all of these interesting safety features. But we are still confused, because they were working on the rear passenger door and not the windshield. And I think they were probably scamming the insurance company. And now Bill says we have to take it back, because they did not replace all of these "clips" that they supposedly replaced, and there is some sort of sticky substance on the fender. DH is really picky about the cars. 😒
  13. Another interesting note. Apparently, there were 2 Mega Millions lottery winners that purchased their tickets at the exact same gas station in Southern CA. "A gas station in Encino sold two lucky tickets that both hit the jackpot Friday night for a Mega Millions drawing of nearly $400 million, lottery officials said on Saturday. Both tickets matched all five numbers and the Mega Ball in the drawing, according to the California Lottery. They were purchased at the Chevron station at.." "Carolyn Becker, the deputy director of the California Lottery's Office of Public Affairs and Communications, told City News Service that she was not sure if such a coincidence has ever occurred before." That is pretty darn amazing...I think there will be questions. LOL 😃
  14. That would be miserable. We had repeated flooding in our cabin on Vision a few years ago. The fans were going in our cabin and the one next door for several days. We did receive some compensation.
  15. We didn't realize it at the time, either, @bonsai3s But the cruise line fulfilled their contract, they gave us a cruise. There is no interest in doing anything after the fact. Learning experience. ☺️ We are polite but thought the same thing as the OP. We thought, "Oh we will just work it out when we get home." .....Doesn't work. You have to address it onboard. LOL. We even wrote to Kathie Lee Gifford. 😀 Long time ago.
  16. They will wait for you (if at all possible) if you are on a Royal Caribbean excursion, because they are in constant communication with the tour operator. Generally, although someone has posted otherwise about a private excursion in Italy, recently. If you are on a private excursion or wander about. The ship has no idea where you are. And will generally not wait for very long for you to return.
  17. Snoqualmie Falls is beautiful! It rages some years. We had lunch at a restaurant right next to the falls, when I was about 10. It might have been that building, I don't remember. There were white tablecloths. I do remember a little girl that came into the dining room that was about my age. And for a dollar, I could come out right next to the falls and see and hold her rabbits from the hutch. (I eagerly did, of course) ☺️ So I tend to think it was probably a lot less fancy then. It is a gorgeous area.
  18. Unfortunately, we learned that on our second cruise. If there is a problem on the ship you need to address it with the persons that have responsibility for the problem while you are on the cruise. The ship or corporate seem to have little interest in correcting things after the fact. ☺️
  19. Leonard looks like he is horrified that you changed the thermostat to icebox cold! 😀 Bobby used to do that when he escaped and then found it was raining. All of a sudden panic at the wet and a fast run back inside. Unfortunately, he was always trying to sneak out, because of his upbringing. It is nice not to have to worry about open doors now. (in a sad way)
  20. You will have to post after pictures, too. Because I don't quite understand. How do they push the refrigerator down? And which wall? ☺️
  21. We worked with CBP at SFO for a training. It was amazing how many people were asked repeatedly about prohibited items, denied it repeatedly, and they were fined on the spot when it was found. And then they wanted their stuff back...because they had paid. 🙄 The weirdest one was the guy with the cooked, large, entire iguana in his suitcase with his clothes. It was in a plastic bag, and legal, because it was cooked, but still...eeww ☺️
  22. You can have your Diamond benefits on a printout at the machine on any bar. If the first person you ask doesn't know how to do it, ask them to ask someone else or one of the Bar Managers. You also should have received a letter in your stateroom. I have not cruised on Anthem, though.
  23. Retirees are invited to the holiday party and elephant gift exchange on Monday. I bought this, on sale, $22.99: Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022 release) | With bigger vibrant sound, helpful routines and Alexa | Deep Sea Blue https://www.amazon.com/All-New-release-Smart-speaker-Charcoal/dp/B09B93ZDG4/ref=cs_sr_dp_2?crid=GHE3P7QDWW9K&keywords=echo+dot&qid=1701831476&sprefix=echo+dot%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-1 The luncheon is at the Cheesecake Factory this year. Ours is not exactly a White Elephant gift exchange, because there is stealing involved. So, we try to purchase things that others will like. Personally...I like chocolates and those large Ferrero Rocher gift packs for a small after dinner dessert. But CA likes tech. People who already have an Echo may want another and people that don't, may want to try one. We love our Google mini. ☺️
