  1. Thanks Pat! I didn't realize it was a cross post. I thought maybe @A&L_Ont had a new pet. I certainly know what gorgeous kitty Jade is. And all the other cats on this thread. ☺️ It has been a dumb week. I had to drop my pristine Subaru Outback at the body shop early this morning. I was at the nail salon a few weeks ago and a lady with a BMW was at the grocery store, she forgot to put in park, and it rolled into my car. I definitely have to commend this woman for her honesty and consideration! She left a note on my wiper with her contact information and texted me her insurance info. I think I may drop off flowers when I get the car back, because it was $4,000 worth of damage. But I have just been a little discombobulated. ☺️
  2. I'm so glad Maxx came home, safe & sound. ☺️ I did a dumb thing this week. We are trying to fix up the front yard in anticipation of selling the house. We went to the plant nursery and picked up 3 Indian Hawthorne plants. I figured they were hardy, since you see them in parking lots all the time. Bill asked if they are deer resistant. I said, I think so. We haven't planted them yet, but I guess they will have to go in the backyard. I finally looked them up today. Not ONLY are they not deer resistant, but they are also on the deer's FAVORITE FOODS list. πŸ™„
  3. That is kind of a broad range in time. I'm not quite sure how you could pick one that is more suitable. At least repairmen give you a 2- or 4-hour window. πŸ˜„
  4. The dress is gorgeous, and you look lovely Crystal. ☺️ But I think you are going to need a wrap or a small jacket, though...just because it is Park City, Utah. At least going into or out of the venue. It is going to be freezing cold. You have been in Florida for a while. Have a wonderful time! Do you still have any Colorado clothes?
  5. Thanks. Tempura Zucchini is good, too. We use small bowls Kikkoman Tempura Dipping Sauce and lemon juice in another. Bill likes a Remoulade sauce in his bowl☺️ I feel like a prepper, stockpiling supplies. πŸ™„ Kikkoman Tempura Sauce is hard to find anymore, so I just bought 12 bottles of it online. Along with 24 dry packages of Lawry's Au Jus Sauce mix for French Dip Sandwiches. I have certain products that I really like. I am always sad when they go away. S&W Teriyaki Sauce was an amazing product. I didn't buy enough before it was gone. And I still miss Quaker Puffed Wheat and Puffed Rice. I have to buy them online now, too, from Arrowhead Mills, through various sellers.
  6. The Tempura Shrimp fest! And yes. It is a Fry Baby, as opposed to Fry Daddy, which was much larger. It was a very good meal. ☺️ Please excuse our (not) fancy tableware. πŸ˜€
  7. I quibbled on another cruise, because it seems to me that 5+ sailings would mean 5 nights or longer. And it actually used to say 5 nights or longer. And you would get the bag, and I talked to the concierge, and we were able to get the bag(s). It is not usually an issue, it just happened to be one on a B2B. "29_On 5+ night sailings only, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members receive one free $34.99 bag of laundry on Wash & Fold Day. Only valid on the day of the ship’s Wash & Fold laundry promotion. Not valid for any pressing or dry-cleaning services." RCI writes such unclear things. πŸ™„
  8. Okay that settles it. We are having Tempura Shrimp Saturday night. Benihana recipe: 1/2 cup water, 1 egg. I/2 cup flour fluffed, but not sifted. Whisk egg and add water. Add flour, whisk 4-5 time. Lumpy is fine. That is actually how it is written. Mixture should be kept cold. We use #51-60 bags of shrimp. Butterflied, shelled and deveined. About 40 for the 2 of us. Cookie sheet with newspaper and a paper towel (so they are dry) Batter should be cold, shrimp closer to room temp. We have a Fry Baby, that only uses about a cup of oil. Small batches 2 minutes with tempura sauce, lemon juice or your favorite dipper. Best! Fluffy Tempura Shrimp ever! They are so good, and we don't have them that often. The hardest part is the shrimp preparation. And you can't do them in an Air Fryer, because of the batter.
  9. I bought one. I never took it out of the box. I never could really figure out things that we like to eat, that I could use it for. And I decided I didn't really have anywhere to store it. After about 6 months, I sold it locally, for about the same price, still new in the box. It was to a mom who wanted to cook fries (chips?) and tater tots for her kids.
  10. My dad was Dec. 20. He always hated the Happy Birthday /Christmas gifts growing up. We went overboard on Father's Day. ☺️
  11. We always had a fresh tree for Polly with lots of bells and bird safe ornaments. But we stopped after he passed away. It was just work instead of fun for him. We still have a box of ornaments that we have collected traveling. Maybe it will be more Christmasy in the mountains after we move. ☺️
  12. We are just not booking with Royal Caribbean right now. Their prices are just annoying to me. We have other things like a move, going on and I may revisit them when we are settled.
  13. We are having chicken . Rocky, the free range chicken. https://www.petalumapoultry.com/story/?gclid=Cj0KCQiApOyqBhDlARIsAGfnyMokr2ECZAS7GqhmzAnJOfRSnKtDMNbKHIlLQWp7q1jsTHZ-eLd6h2caAltNEALw_wcB We used to buy small turkeys, but we decided many years ago, that we don't really like turkey all that much. They are meaty little things. And we like chicken better.
  14. I think it is a restocking issue. They seem to have these items in cold storage, but someone has to coordinate signing it out and getting it to where it needs to be. Someone was complaining about mint for mojitos on another cruise. It was onboard, but someone has to go and find it, get it checked out of inventory, and get it to where it belongs. It was available a day or two later.
  15. I mentioned paper copies to our wonderful room steward in March. He replied, "No problem, I already have you on the list!" πŸ˜„
  16. Colon is kind of icky/sketchy. There are tall buildings like most cities, but a lot of the windows are broken out. I read that Carnival had people in orange vests, warning people out of some of areas of the city. When we were there with Royal, we were just advised not to leave the port area. It might be better to take an excursion if you do get off. The Cristobal Terminal Area was large and secured, with a lot of vendors and bars, so we didn't need to venture out.
  17. You are a good dad, Bob. That sounds like a hideous amount of work. I've spent the last week cleaning the concrete grout in between our slate tiles in the entryway. Which has been done, like never. The hardest part was getting up and down off the floor stool. I used a mixture of half cup baking soda, about half a scoop of oxy clean, a couple of drops of dish soap and about 3 tablespoons of water to make a paste. I brushed that in firmly with a narrow hard scrub brush, and then sprayed it with white vinegar. Let it sit for few minutes and then wiped it with a water wet grout sponge. It looks greatly improved. I just have to damp mop it and have Bill seal it. They are irregular green slate tiles, and some of the concrete grout is over an inch wide. It is a very 60's dated sort of look, but the slate is an amazing product that repairs itself from scratching and dings because of the slippery stone nature of slate.
