  1. Depending how long they wait to book, the airfare price may more than offset any cruise savings.
  2. I had this happen on an MSC cruise and the bag was found 2 months later. MSC were not helpful at all and when they found the bag the choices to return the bag were to pay $200 for the return or if not they would keep the bag. I tried to escalate the charge up the line but eventually I got no response. Now have Air Tags. Sounds like Celebrity handled the problem much better than MSC.
  3. There is and I didn’t know that when I booked a future cruise when we were on the Solstice in May. Nice bonus because we didn’t have AI. The advantages for us is the $200 deposit for the two of us and the fact that we can book a non refundable deposit price which is not a big gamble. Also as has been mentioned the additional OBC is a plus.
  4. She is in the US but I also speak to the US reps when calling from Canada. I realized after posting I should have mentioned wifi but thanks for the reminder.
  5. She doesn’t have AI and was going to wait until on board to book wifi, but I can’t find on Celebrity’s website where it says that she can’t use this promo to book premium wifi with the current 40% discount.
  6. My cousin who is cruising with us next April on the Silhouette called Captains Club and was told that only applies to all included. Why would you pay for a perk that you already have? That doesn’t make sense to me.
  7. Interesting thread. Same cruise as the OP. We have a boarding time slot 11-11:30. With that in mind, when should we arrive at the port to clear US Customs, check in and make that 11 boarding time?
  8. We found a very good TA a number of years ago by asking fellow cruisers who they used when we were on board.
  9. Cruise only pricing works well for us as we get enough wifi minutes and happy hour for drinks, with our Elite Plus status. We can also bring a couple of bottles of wine on board and our TA usually gives us enough OBC to cover gratuities.
  10. Can you book seats when you book with FBC even though you haven’t yet paid?
  11. I also use s US TA but I got my loyalty club membership before I booked our first MSC cruise so that she could apply the number to get any discount that would apply. I also book in US funds which seems to be better for us. I don’t think it’s only MSC because I have seen a 40% differential price on some Celebrity cruises. It wouldn’t hurt for Canadians to check both prices.
  12. The Elite Plus perks work for us. My wife doesn’t drink and I can get by with our 3 evening drinks and 2 bottles of wine we can bring on board. The 240 minutes each for wifi is enough and the bags of laundry is another bonus. Booked a 9 night Alaska cruise without AI and with the OBC we get from our TA, that almost covers the gratuities, it worked out to be much cheaper.
  13. We need to book for an April cruise as well and we would want a refundable fare. I’m assuming that means we can cancel and rebook if a cheaper fare comes up, or is it adjusted down if with the same airline? If we book to pay for airfare at time of final payment, can we book seats before that?
  14. They have put me through because I booked with a US agent, but we should be able to get through on the first call rather than waiting again on hold for an agent.
  15. When I have called the US number I’m rerouted back to MSC Canada because I’m calling from a Canadian phone number.
  16. Unfortunately the only two options I had in the email were, pay to have it returned or have MSC keep it. I’ll go after them when I get the suitcase back. Even though it was over $200 to have it shipped, I’m happy to have it back.
  17. Update. I just received a phone call and an email from MSC that my luggage has been found. They didn’t say how or where, but I am just happy to be able to get it back. Unfortunately I have to pay to have it shipped and I will take that up with them when I get it back. It is however worth it to have everything returned. I kept being told it takes time, and I guess that was true. Their process did work. 👍
  18. I do think that the only explanation of my missing suitcase is that someone took it, hopefully by mistake. If someone did take it they would have noticed immediately that it was not theirs because one of the wheels was broken. My next suitcase will definitely look different than others.
  19. I agree my bag should have been there, but customer service says it takes time. I have done many flights over the years and around 20 cruises and a bag has never been lost. When flying I have had a few misplaced but they have shown up in a day or two. I’ll wait another 2 weeks and then will file an insurance claim. I agree it is gone but I do wonder where.
  20. My mistake. Seashore.
  21. We sailed on the Seashore May 7th. As always we put our luggage outside our YC cabin door on the last night of the cruise. The departure morning we were down to the luggage pick up area in the terminal around 8. Unfortunately my suitcase was not there. It was definitely not in the YC area and we looked as much as we could in the other areas but there are still thousands of bags to look through. I spoke to 3 or 4 Celebrity and shore personal who unfortunately couldn’t seem to help. I did fill out a lost luggage form there but after a few hours we had to leave to catch a flight. I phoned customer service on Monday morning and was given a link to fill out a detailed lost luggage report. I received back a number which said it is being looked into. I have made several other follow up calls and have been told it takes time. This isn’t like lost airline luggage which could be anywhere in the country, it went from our cabin door supposedly to the terminal. Has anyone ever had this specific issue and what was the outcome? Neil
  22. Does anyone know if there are plans to bring in sand to cover those rocks. It’s a great area but that rocky beach takes some of the shine off it. Excellent service on the beach from the staff.
  23. We just booked a cruise on the Eclipse for January 2024 and Celebrity have changed the cabin categories. We wanted what was a 1A at the 1B price and we have a DV veranda 8252 (formerly a 1A) with no one category upgrade. It looks like Celebrity have removed one more perk.
