  1. Because closed loop cruises (RT Cape Liberty, in this case) only have to call at a foreign port, but not a distant foreign port.
  2. Excellent, Evana. Please have a safe and uneventful journey home.
  3. Absolutely. We used the proctored tests in our stateroom before disembarking in Italy two weeks ago. Although we tested negative, had we been positive i would’ve booked my own quarantine accommodations.
  4. Same policy disembarking Edge in a Rome. They were glad to sell you a proctored test, but not deliver to you until after you’ve signed off the ship and cruise!
  5. I have to assume a lot of these errors and omissions are due to getting back to normal with the restart. The Port of SF used to frequently update their site whenever there was a change in cruise ship calls. For them not to update since December is quite notable compared to pre-Covid. My mind envisions a large turnover of staff and departments struggling, as is the case in so many industries and businesses....
  6. I completely agree with everything @LAFFNVEGAS has stated. I’m just back from a two-week Transatlantic sailing that, thankfully, didn’t come with any Covid-type mishaps. But I went prepared with the mindset anything could happen such as illness, quarantine, delay getting back to the US, etc. I feel the cruise lines are doing everything they possibly can to survive during this restart. It’s irrational to think they’re intentionally trying to screw with people as the rules and protocols of the countries they sail to are ever-changing. Although Covid is now 2+ years, it’s still the first day of school in that they’re navigating through all the different variants as they arise. Consistency is still aways off....
  7. @Roz if your friend is going to pick you up at the ship, tell them you’ll be at Pier 35 as opposed to the newer main SF terminal 27.
  8. That’s strange, as the site hasn’t been updated since December. Still lists Crystal Serenity making SF calls, even though Crystal is no more. 😢
  9. It’s on the schedule... https://sfport.com/files/2021-12/2022.pdf
  10. We sailed the Edge Transatlantic April 22-May 6. Captain Costas gave Covid counts in his daily announcements. “In the interest of transparency” were his exact words. I appreciated his gesture.
  11. Just the basic surf package. With that said, there were intermittent wi-fi issues during the crossing. But we were fortunate to have a good enough signal to do the test the day before disembarkation.
  12. Like @TonyUK we successfully sailed the Edge Transatlantic. Took the proctored test in our stateroom the day before disembarking, and flew back to the US the following day. One of the best Celebrity cruises I’ve taken since starting on Mercury in 2000! We missed you. But thanks to your staying home, there were NO waffle shortages! 😉
  13. I just cruised with Captain Costas. What a charming and approachable gentleman. Saw him all over the ship the entire 14 days...
  14. Re: Caymus Family wines..... Just off the Edge Transatlantic where the Sommelier in Fine Cut Steakhouse told me that Caymus has been unable to supply their contract w/Celebrity due to shortages caused by the 2018 Napa Valley fires. This includes not only the Cabernet, but also their Mer Soleil. I didn’t ask if they had Conundrum in stock. I did inquire about Emmolo (Merlot) which was sold by the bottle. They did have a small supply of it, which we enjoyed on two nights. He went on to say Caymus was still supplying Emmolo as they wanted to “keep their foot in the door” with Celebrity. No Decoy on Edge either, which seems to be a fleetwide thing. I enjoyed Celebrity’s Elegance red blend instead. Two nights I splurged on Grgich Hills Opulence for the $10 upcharge over the Premium package. Well worth it IMO.
  15. Interesting. The only difference is we didn’t book/prepay full price pre-cruise. Our 4 specialty restaurant visits were all booked onboard via the app.
  16. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but on the recent Edge Transatlantic I didn’t have to speak up to get my Elite+ discount applied at specialty restaurants or buying bottles of wine. That was a first for me.
  17. I always call 800-772-5941 for “cruise enhancements”. It seems a few less steps and buttons to push to get through to agents that handle drink packages. Just my personal experience with this sorta stuff.
  18. Look on Delta’s website if there is a later flight to your destination. If so, call them and have them put you on it instead of the 1:00pm flight. Airlines will do this for you in the event of schedule changes. Call and explain 1:00pm won’t work for you.
  19. Buy and do the proctored test the day before you disembark as suggested in this thread. I did it last week and it was the easiest solution IMO.
  20. Can you upgrade your Signature Bev Package to Elite package once onboard?
  21. That’s exactly what we did. We had an 11:00am flight May 6 from FCO, so I didn’t want to add airport testing to the mix. Doing the proctored test on board in our stateroom saved a lot of stress and anxiety on disembarkation and a long day of flying to California. We also slept a lot better the night of May 5 knowing testing was complete and we were negative.
  22. And to add this is why I clicked the "request early ticketing" option on the FlightEase website. My flight is 6 weeks out, but my ticket was issued within 24 hours of purchase by taking advantage of that option.
